Great if your looking for a tough old school game                 Great Port

The game starts pretty well and the tutorial builds up gameplay but the constant slow as ever grinding is a killer Combat system isnt that great because the AI of your allies makes them idiots and you have to manually switch over so fast in combat it becomes tedious The story and experience is very well put but the lack of nearby save points and lack of money grinding for healing items makes this game a little hard for newcomers        So Much Grinding

Some of the text gets cut from the screen So you cant see what items do Or see what the menu button says Other than that its a great game     Screen needs resized

Rather than really provide retina support they added a forest border so you dont have the black bars Pathetic           Great game Silly retina support

This game is at the top of my list as far as classic RPGs are concerned I was so excited to see it in the App Store that I just had to have it despite already owning both a Super NES cartridge and the Wii version The controls do take some getting used to but once I got the hang of it I had no problems with them The game graphics have been enhanced a little bit which is also a plus because its interesting to see what everything looks like I would definitely encourage Square Enix to release more of their classic games Secret of Mana 2 would be nice I also would like to see Square Enix make some new classicstyle RPGs just for smartphones It would be a lot of fun for those of us who love this type of game and I think there would be a nice amount of money in it for the developers                 One of my Favorite RPGs

I would love if somehow they made this game playable by two or three players using each character thats something that I think it was amazing about the snes version loved playing it with my bro using the powers Plz make it happen plz                 Two to three player plz

This game is awesome I have this game still for my SNES But the app has a little glitch Mine happen after I completed the trial of courage I cant use my abilities or my menu But over all the graphics are unbelievable Everything has been cleaned up and touch up              Awesome

This game is great Touchscreen controls may take some time to adjust to Hopefully there arent levels like ones in Chrono Trigger where you can only make your way through parts of the map with extremely delicate movements Sorry I cant remember which location that is in Chrono Trigger haha but its one reason Im hesitant to purchase the iOS version of it Anyway if you havent heard of Secret of Mana its part of the mana series made by Square Enix I am not familiar with the entire series but from what Ive heard only some of the games connect to each other in terms of plot I wont really reveal anything about the plot so I dont ruin anything Some moments are funny though Gameplay is fun Many places to explore Lots of monsters to bashslashburnfreezeelectrocuteetc Several weapons to use alternately different elemental magic spells to cast and three different characters to fight with throughout almost the entire game in the beginning you just have one but you will meet the other two characters maybe 510 minutes in Aside from character base stats all weapons and magic skills can level up too Each character has unique attributes that will help you throughout the game ie High physical attack but no magic skills high support magic and powerful Magic attacks ANYWAY lots to do in this game The only problem Ive experienced is that it occasionally crashes Luckily there is an auto save feature whenever you move to different roomslocations so I didnt lose that much progress                 Fun to play

Im only a few hours in but it brings me back to my childhood and playing this on the SNES My only complaint so far is the lack of iCloud support              Great port

I love this game and was super happy years ago when I saw this for purchase in the App Store I happily paid whatever Square Enix was charging at the time for the app But this game could use an update The music stops playing sometimes when you exit the app and doesnt start up again unless you close out the app completely and restart           Could use an update

Wish they made more games like this one of the best RPGs ever made Id love to see more of the SoM games brought over                 Great game

I love the game but im a speed runner but i cant finish the game because i have no clue how to open the change weapon screen              This is good but one thing

I believe I was using a gamepad before the update that officially brought it in this July and the game was still very playable This is one of my favorite games growing up and it plays fantastic with a gamepad on iOS devices Im hoping they give this game some iPad love really soon for syncing saves between devices If that happens itll be a 5 Star rating for all time on this users account Cloud saves FTW              Hoping for iCloud Game Save Sync

I was happy to find more converted games from the consoles on the IOS format Since I cant afford those pricy consoles and games I hope we see more coming soon This game is descent for a touch screen phone The controls are a bit difficult to get used to but not impossible I do also question some of the useful aspects of the game to the plot of the story Otherwise great game for the price I do think the price is a bit much for the type of game           Descent Game for a touch phone

I really enjoyed this game the first time I played it through However after the latest update theres a bug that keeps the story stuck in one spot Im during the Gold Isle part of the story and when I talk to Mara for the key she just repeats her dialogue from earlier in the game I cant continue until this is fixed           Buggy

Game was great until the latest iOS update came out Now every game made by this company displays the ipad and wifi logo in the top left corner of the screen the time up in the middle and battery in the top right You cant see whats going on the top of the screen which makes the game so frustrating that its unplayable Its unfortunate that such a great game title has no support     Dont get if planing to play on iPad mini

After my SNES cartridge died I continued to enjoy this game on my PC This was in the late 1990s Later I played Secret of Mana on my 2006 MacBook This was great because I had sprained an ankle and had trouble sitting comfortably And now of course I can play it on my far more powerful iPhone 5S The difference This time out this 20 year old game which has run smoothly on just about every conceivable platform suddenly has framerate issues How is that even possible And dont tell me SNES games dont emulate well on iOS FFV runs just fine on this phone So why does this game have framerate problems Three stars because its a good game that has aged surprisingly well Play it on your Wii           A shame

Once an avid fan I often hesitate before buying iOS ports of older games by SquareEnix because the company almost always fails to provide continued support for its apps Theyre trading on a legacy reputation that has run its course for the most part And yes theyve been paying attention becausefrom time to timeusers tend to see halfhearted efforts such as the latest update Caveat emptor Translation Buyer beware Edit 02022015 Plus one star for MFi support Please update The World Ends With You for newer devices We paid good money for these titles Squenix           iPhone 6 Plus iOS 8x

The minute I heard the title music I knew this was worth it This ranks as one of the greatest games ever made the music the graphics the Story and most of all the Gameplay Im buying an iPad just so I can play this on a bigger screen This is the action rpg that invented the genre Worth every cent The controls are a little diff if you were used to a controller or a keyboard like me but I know Ill adapt Any of us who remember the old days of gaming will love it and any young gamer pups gotta see where it all began Get this one                 Wow

Just got the iOS 9 update and now the game wont open     iOS 9 and now wont play

The most recent update degrades the visuals of the game by adding horrible letter boxing at the edges of the screen Whats worse it cant be disabled        Illadvised Update

So far the game is fun but I can only listen to it with my headphones in Please fix this so I can better enjoy this classic     Music stopped on iPhone 5s

I forgot when I purchased this game just how incredibly difficult it is Its a cute game I like the characters the premise and the ideas but the gameplay execution leaves something to be desired Im not of the opinion that high difficulty equals better longer gameplay merely protracted Even dedicating your characters to just leveling up a few weapons its still an annoyingly overextended experience The returns you get from your efforts in building your characters up can be just agonizing because your teammates AI In boss battles and even normal battles often times makes them suicidal idiots At least in the days of the SNES you had game genie to help build your characters up Ultimately if you really get loads of joy from constant slow grinding then youll have no problems here If you can get past that youll enjoy the game        Nostalgia only goes so far

Id love to see iCloud and iPad support              Classic game with a few problems

I still have my original cart This is a great game and moga game pad makes it feel even better Just a few problems square very sloppily put this together The AI for your allies literally is suicidal The characters you are not controlling go out of their way to get themselves killed You either keep em busy spamming magic or let the stay dead and hope for the best Square I am disappoint you are better than this Its not like you had to create this game from scratch you can and have done better in the past           Great port but very buggy

This game was awesome and worked quite well prior to the IOS 84 update Once it is fixed I will rate it as a five star app     Was a great game till IOS 84

I love that theyve added game pad support to a game Ive enjoyed since I was a kid I look forward to it working smoothly hopefully in the next version With the Steelseries Stratus youre not going to be able to use the joystick to move while charging your weapon Youre also going to be facing the wrong direction It moves in the right direction but your character doesnt turn This is particularly problematic with ranged weapons           Game pad support

I cant open it because I have iOS 9                 Please fix it soon

I have this and have played it multiple times on ipad and iphone now that it he been updated you can see the top of the screen which had been previously cut off by an ugly ipad and battery indicator It says that it is gamepad compatible Does anyone know which gamepad his would be If so I would definitely chalk it up on my tobuy list Any help is appreciated I would like to know which gamepad to purchase                 Gamepad support

The game used to play in full screen mode now an ugly border appears on both sides narrowing the gameplay screen Why was this necessary        Why cant the ugly border be turned off

There is so much wrong with this game it is staggering The bad Removed dialogue for moggle village it just tells you the answer to the puzzle as soon as you land Graphics update is incompletesloppy the further into the game you get Only 3 enemies can be on the screen at a time Several orbs are missing or glitched Many level 9 spell graphics are removed Battle system changed makes enemies brutally unfair Terrible terrible original dialogue The good Quality of life changes Whip grapple points are a breeze Magic levels faster Most crystal orbs changed to accept any spell of the correct element Bosses made slightly weaker no more getting knocked out over and over Graphics update on all items and some enemies Revived mana sword looks great The changed combat is terribly frustrating to the point of game breaking They removed the moments of invulnerability after getting hit those were there to prevent juggling It happens ALOT now Try not to break your phone when you fight imps for the first time Dodge chance has also been reduced to the point of not existing as well as parrys You really are at the mercy of everything The worste part is the 3 enemy limit spawn points remain the same rooms with 5 enemies still have 5 every time you kill something the next enemy spawns in It doesnt sound like much but you will often find yourself caught in an ambush of fresh faced full hp enemies just as you almost die trying to kill the first wave due to their incredible juggling skills Weapon orbs are also an issue There are a few locations that should have chests with orbs in them some didnt feel like showing up or in one case I got 3 from a single chest It was madness The graphics update dear lord Start of the game perfect and pristine Half way though starts to get sloppy End game looks like they ran the original graphics through a blur filter or just didnt do anything at all There are hard edges everywhere tiles that dont line up and shadows that defy logic Its just sloppy The original graphics are miles better simply because it was done correctly I dont care how high the resolution is if Im looking at cliff face that takes up the whole screen and every 4th rock is cut in half you screwed up The dialogue Lets face it the original text is terrible It was the product of bad 90s localization its just bad So bad in fact that someone rewrote the entire game and put out a patch for the game online years later If you want to play this game Do not buy this Go download the rom of the original with the patch already installed And have fun Square has driven this franchise into the ground over and over and now they release this terrible cash grab version of one of the best entries into the series they deserve nothing        Bad remake of a good game

whoever decided to increase the magic casting rate of enemies is pure evil Enemies with magic can keep you locked in their spell animations forever making areas like the upper land forest neigh impossible They also made the game grindier than it already was which is the last thing this game needed     Graphics and spell casting

Update claims to add retina and controller support but I dont see either in game Help website just links back here which is the type of support one comes to expect from SQEX Crap        Inadequate update

Square gets everything right and adds UI improvement as needed Plays just like SNES did minus a controller My sound cut out once but was fixed with a reboot and other than that I had ABSOLUTELY NO CRASHES Money well spent                 A near perfect port

Only 5 s cause its a classic game But I cant play it on my 5s without it randomly closing out making me lose progress Please fix that problem                 Needs to be fixed

People complain about the borders but it is nothing to complain about Used to play this in 9th grade it brings back great memories The interface takes some figuring out but is easy afterwards Worth the money                 Such a great game

This game is a bit dated people I remember waiting in line on release day The fact that anyone at Square Enix spent any time on this game at all in this day in the entertainment industry is nothing short of amazing Square didnt do this for money folks and thats enough of a display if character for me The entitled whiners complaining that Square didnt entirely rewrite a game that was released in 1993 just so there arent borders would be more at home wating in a line somewhere complaining about their 9 cup of coffee Thank you Square for not forgetting this particular piece of my childhood I think the borders look pretty good and Ive never praised borders before                 Any Update is Amazing

For a mobile game this brings a lot of depth and play time This is my first time playing Secret of Mana The story is a little shallow compared to more recent RPGs but it was a great buy for a mobile game                 Great Mobile RPG
