I just purchased this app it works greAt                 Frames

Very inaccurate The measurement Pupil Meter gave me was 10mm off from my actual pupil reading Dont use     Pupil Meter

Can not use camera on front no way to change Do not buy there is another version for 10X the price     Not for iPAD2

Not accurate Cant use photos from library Good idea but needs some work More stars if accuracy increased 5 stars for both the accuracy and photo library fixes     Dont Bother Yet

Title says it all Crap really     Crashes on iOS5 Completely unusable

If I could give this zero stars I would The process seems logical seeing that based on the relative width of a credit card a simple calculation could be made by the app to determine my pupillary distance NOY THE CASE After taking several photos arms length and closer my PD was 535 Called my optician since they were closed the day I wanted to order lenses and bought this app as a result and they said my PD was 61 This app was WAY off I could understand and excuse 12mm but 75mm difference Wish I had just waited and not wasted a dollar on this app     Good thing I didnt rely on this app

I took three different photos from slightly different distances all around 2 as directed I ended up with 521 548 and 581 all using the same credit card Total waste of a buck Just glad I didnt buy the iPad app for 10 Its too bad that scam artists are allowed to sell this stuff from the App Store There should be a mechanism for getting a refund     Not accurate at all

If you really need accuracy and you do unless you want your glasses to make the world look wonky this wont get you in the right range If you do try it track down a YouTube video for instructions The instructions on the app itself are baffling     Skip it

this app was a waste of money used it to find my PD and it told me that my PD was 1153 and it was really only 655 way off dont buy wish I could put 0 stars     waste of 99

I bought this app however got my PD double checked by my eye dr a few days later The distance reported by this app was not accurate and was about 5mm off     Not accurate

I tried all the suggestions from the individuals below who said it works I did it so many times and kept getting around 57mm I figured great a consistent number it must be right Then i had my optometrist measure it and it came back at 66mm Way off Dont waste your money And for the people who accepted the value because it gave you a consistent number dont be foolish Measure it manually its not hard     Does not work

The only thing this app is good for is making fun of how bad this app is It never gets the same measurement twice I agree that its a great idea but would not recommend buying the app if you actually want to know the accurate measurement WASTE OF MONEY     Waste of Money

I was the fool who read these reviews and thought I can hold it straight Besides whats 5mm matter Im not picky Well it was in fact 5mm off turns out I bought those slick Paul Frank frames and used this measurement for lenses and now Im paying 90 again for new lenses because the distance this gave me made me immediately violently nauseous I didnt know that strong of a reaction was even possible to have This should come with a for novelty use only disclaimer Or preferably be removed from the app store     yeah

I tried this app despite other reviews and it works great Very accurate and easy to use Make sure you are in a well lit area to see whites and pupils of eyes and make sure you are looking at lens with a thousand yard stare The reason the measurements for other users were off is because you have to use the straight lines to first measure the credit card width and then use the pupil measurement lines Use it for the outside sales events we do                 Great

This program is extremely hard to use The program saves the finished work in a poor state And couple this with measurement is not accurate     Dont bother

I purchased pupilmeter to measure my PD so that I could order glasses online I followed all of the directions yet the app would not give me an appropriate reading I do not recommend this app     Pupil meter did not work

I read reviews and almost didnt purchase but figured people were doing it wrongyep They were It works TIP Take about 10 measurements Once you can get 34 to match you are doing it right I was all over the place till I realized you have to keep head level looking straight and Credit card must go below nose It works fine Got 571mm PD 3 times in a row exactly so it is a precise measuring tool                 Works fine 1 star people pay attention

Ignore the bad reviews of this app those people are not using it correctly If you use a credit card as the reference take a halfdecent picture of yourself with the frontfacing camera and remember to first measure the card using the virtual calipers before measuring your eyes you will get consistent accurate results The only thing this app cant do is provide the split distances as a result of asymmetry of the face I got consistent readings of 60 to 61mm I then went to the optometrist after deciding not to purchase glasses online and the measurement they took was 295315 split In other words 61mm Not too shabby                 Excellent

Save your buck Much more accurate and faster to simply use a small ruler Not everything in the world needs an iPhone app     Wasted another 099

Helpful in figuring out the PD but it has some limitations One fixable limitation is that it would be easier to use if it allowed one to rotate the picture as will as zoom and center Surprisingly difficult to take a perfectly level photo of oneself Another fixable minor item is the app setting says credit card is 865mm but googling this says 856mm easily fixable by a custom width The more challenging limitations are 1 for measurements relative to the credit card width to be accurate the distance form the camera to the credit card needs to be exactly the distance form the camera to the pupils The more I tried to figure out how to tilt the head to compensate the less confident I was it was accurate The front facing camera is at the top of the iPhone so the distance to the pupils is closer than the credit card Trying the credit card on the forehead just above the pupils may be a bit more accurate though the pupils are always a bit more inset that the credit card will be If I spend half a day I could probably use my physics background to do some calculations so that if the camera is level with the eyes the math is built into the app for the credit card just below the nosethat might be a good improvement for the next version 2 Very very difficult to try to do a distant stare so the distance PD is measured and not a close PD focused not the camera just a foot away For the next version might be good to incorporate some physics calculations into the math so that you do focus at 1 foot on the camera and the app give both the close PD and then calculates a distant PD Those 2 changes would certainly deserve a 5 star              Helpful

Coming from another optician use this app at your own risk If the picture is straight the card nice and level and you are extremely careful with positioning the box and crosses then it might be safe to use if you have a low prescription and only wear single vision I would not use if you wear progressive lenses See a professional for sure Your vision is too important     Hit and miss mostly miss
