If you are comfortable with kanji even if you can read or write it but can differentiate between the station names this app is better than others out there including Google maps Hyperdia s app and website and Navitime You can list the in between stations it recognizes romaji and you can quickly reroute train scenarios if you miss the starting train or transfer or get to one earlier than expected                     Great app with many free features pdot

Just got back from Japan and used this all the time Combined with a SUICA card this app greatly simplifies getting around in Japan via train It s a lot easier than having to look stations up on the spaghetti noodle maps Though you can type in the train station name in romaji you need to be able to read Japanese to some extent to understand the results                 Very useful in Japan if you can read Japanese DDsamuka

This app is so useful when I am traveling in Japan I always get to know how to get anywhere without hesitation                     A lifesaver 95030

I ve been using this app since February or so and its always had great accurate easily accessible features Stations can be looked up by English alphabet Japanese characters or Chinese characters as long as you know what you are looking for it is really good The only cons are it requires some Japanese language proficiency It would be nice if there was a native English version but it works great for me                     Great Travel App Chibrett

This app is the most essential tool for me when I visit Japan An english version is now available based on the plus version for about 14 Just search for norikae annai or jorudan                     A must get for travelers to Japan Bacondeamer

First of all this app is in Japanese If you re comfortable with the language and live in Japan it s an essential supplement to the native Maps app While Maps is great for open ended route searches if I know my departure and arrival stations I always use Norikae Annai Given two stations and an arrival departure time this app returns the fastest cheapest and easiest routes For each route all stations and transfers are on one screen along with transfer times line names and cost Once you re accustomed to the interface and have a decent station history it takes literally seconds to find the best route So far I haven t found any mistakes but I live in Tokyo and mostly use well traveled JR Toei and Tokyo Metro lines To address some other reviewers comments note that the app can now look up the nearest stations click a blue arrow Also you can see results offline in the pay version And lastly in most cases you can enter the name of the station in Roman letters although the results remain in Japanese In case you re wavering between this version and its Plus counterpart these are the main extra features in the pay version 20 per year A train s platform number and the best car s to use for a transfer both of which are very useful Offline route search and timetable history up to 50 results for both Interactive search results that show you the timetable quick info on earlier later departures and arrival times for stations along the way A quicker way to search for trains departing x minutes from now Other stuff like commuter pass compatibility city bus listings no ads etc                     Absolute must for Japan residents bmckelvey

This was the first application I looked for when I bought the iPhone Couldn t find anything like it forever so I was using a crappy old web app But this works great I agree that I would love any kind of offline service too I often search the same place sometimes 5 minutes later when I forget so being able to save some offline would be really useful                     locomote
