Seriously one of the best synths on the app store Sound quality and interface wise its a 5 star synth The reason it only gets 4 stars is because you cant currently load custom sound banks in iTunes which means theres no way to retrieve or share your custom saved sounds through iTunes either Hopefully theyll add that feature in an update              One of the best

Surprising how that happened but yeah me too Its one of the best synths for iOS alas it does not play as of 2015 Its a five star app but for now its just occupying space              I got the z3ta New Years bug also

Ridiculous Synth stopped working and no fiddling can make sound output Avoid this app Supposedly they are fixing it but the facts are that a this happened and b we all wait for the fix day after day Translation spend your money elsewhere Cakewalk I hope you do something to make us believers again     Great if you like knobs and no sound Avoid

Seems to only crackle occasionally by itself But in audio bus it us laggy poppy and crackles It clearly needs more processor than an ipad mini Not that they tell you that Oh well maybe if I upgrade Till then its 20 down the drain The first of the many synths I have bought that doesnt have it together     Not for ipad mini

I really do love the sound and the expressiveness but the virtual keyboard input leaves a LOT to be desired Alchemy gets this right Animoog gets this even righter Keyboard bend modes legato modes controlling another parameter in the Y axis A virtual pitch bend and mod wheel are completely useless for anything other than status indicators I wish companies would get that theyre not really suited to touch apps Address these things and youre on your way to a 5 star app           Fantastic sound mediocre playability

z3ta is a dream ESPECIALLY if you like to roll your own and you want a huge array of modulation options envelopes LFOs filter options wave mods and morphs and effects but even if you dont you will get a massive amount of mileage from z3ta It still needs some work standard importexport options for patches waves and MIDI AudioShare AudioCopy Open in and DropBox Also user bank subfolders and it would be fantastic if envelope nodes could be optionally beat synced                 Top Dog

Ive been a long time Cakewalk user and I love the synth but the import section is broken It should not take me 2 3 days to get through all of the dialog boxes when I attempt to bulk import patches from the Virus mod I started on April 11th and Im still going through the import name dialog boxes its 41415 as I write this with no end in sight Cmon Bakers I know youll fix this but did you beta check the import3xport section This is sloppy work I never had a problem like this with with the VST version        Importing presets should not take 4 to 6 days to complete

I dont think I can get enough synthesizers Cakewalk Z3TA makes its way to iOS with a bang Sure its early and bugs will likely happen but so far so great It has performed very well on my iPad Air and only crashed once on my iPad 4 It also glitched out a bunch while running it through IAA to Cubasis as I was messing with modulations and filters That was on my 4 but those glitches werent heard in the recording Still not desirable though Its too soon to know if that is any indication of what to expect Something that can be expected is that this will sound outstanding This is special                 So good

I own most of the major iPad synths and this is the one I keep coming back to Great interface and a lot of ways to tweak your sounds I use z3ta 2 on my Mac with Ableton and the ability to pass patches back and forth between iPad and Mac is handy This app might cost more than others but its worth the 20 to buy the right synth the first time                 Best iPad Synth

First of all the initial preset Italo 84 pretty much says it all Somebody in the programming department knows whats upthis is an arp reminiscent of Fancy Albert One Ken Laszloyou name it from that special era First I cant seem to fine adjust the tempo in the arp sectioncant dial the exact number I want Been waiting for this since the month beganeveryday waiting till now The Zeta 2 kicks major you know what and now I have thisWOW Cakewalk please dont let us down              Oh Yeah

I have Animoog Alchemy Arturia Korg Thor etc Love them all but this blows them all away with its sound quality and professional studio quality controls I was shocked and so pleased with how great this is                 The Best the next level the new gold standard synth

The date bug is fixed but two things 1 Trying to export presets crashes the app 2 The first time you tap on the default preset the menu is completely blank The second time it loads properly This is SUCH A GOOD SYNTH but the bugs are killing me Come on Cakewalk Update both glitches above occur on my iPad 2 and newly upgraded iPad Air 2 Would be nice to port over my old patches to my new setup or at least be able to know that any new ones I create wont be lost Wont use until then     Top 5 synth but STILL broken

Z3TA is a godsend for any musician with an iPad Its an extremely versatile synth that allows you to control every aspect of the sounds you create Ive failed to find any other synth thats like it for the iPad This app goes great with Audiobus and any DAW of your choice I personally use Music Studio and it allows me to create music on the go                 The iPads Signature Synthesizer

I am enjoying this synth a lot When you go to use it in Audio Bus and InterApp The distortion in the voices starts to drain my enthusiasm I am running an iPad 3 and there really should not be any problems Cakewalk please do the updates to solves these issues Many thanks CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET ANY SUPPORT FOR THIS PRODUCT           Same Thing Happening after the update No One Ever Ackmowledged This

Nice job This is what I love A serious Synth that does everything well Before I listened to 5 Factory Presets I was writing and saving my own Really setup nice I have the VST Pluggin with 2000 Presets and they do sound better than these but for an app very very nice I love it when you get the tools you love to work with and a User Browser that makes saving as easy as it gets This is certainly worth the money 4 stars because I would have liked the Classic and New Z3TA2 presets but I remind myself I like to write my own and 2000 presets is a lot Great job Right up there with Moog Arturia Waldorf Native Instruments Alchemy and the rest of the best Synths available for the ZIPad if you like some humor              Definitely a Killer Z3TA

The company that did this app is huge and make daws and yet the arpeggiatorsequencer is preset or import only Huh What is up with these preset sequencers2014 can you sayA piano roll maybe boys and girls Most daws use them universally as kind of a must have in ANY sequencer why not thisStill though the actual sound architecture is amazing even though it needs an option to make the sliders buttons which are tinyand such ZOOM to make them usable for us guys and gals with larger paws And the tutorials need to be available on U tube as should all these iOS appspeace Christo              Sounds awesome but

I was kind of on the fence about buying this synth It was recommended to me by someone who writes about music tools extensively I picked it up and within an hour I had already developed three of my own sounds It was such an easy and intuitive app to use that there was almost no time between learning the app and getting creative with it One of my favorites In my top 10                 Awesome Synth

Trying to export a preset crashes the app Been waiting 7 months now for a fix Im never giving Cakewalk any more of my money     Still broken since December 2014

Back in 2003 I bought my first DAW Cakewalks Music Creator and both the first tastes of recording MIDI and audio using a PC As computers got faster I also upgraded to newer versions on Music Creator I even bought other items like Dimension SFXs Triangle etc but the synth that I liked best was z3ta Fast forward today I embraced doing music using iOS and have not used my PC for music making at all but still missed my favorite synth Now that z3ta is here I can use it in my recordings and enjoy all the presets I have stored in the PC This app has great sound shaping capabilities and can still be useful in an iPad2 which is my main rig You will not be disappointed by the sheer capabilities Cakewalk there is only one thing that I dont like the export capabilities are broken Please fix it as this is important for safekeeping and backing up the patches I have over a thousand that I have accumulated for over ten years so this is crucial to get fixed Thanks              I finally have my fav synth on iOS

One of the most versatile and powerful synths out there with its own unique sound and massive waveshaping and modulating possibilities Great that you can send and receive presets from desktop plugin This version has a nice XY pad as well Excellent customer support if you run into problems too                 Outstanding sound versatility and support

the app doesnt have any sound coming off of it the year turned to 2015 and the sound apparently stayed behind how can this happen seriously please fix it           NO SOUND

First off I want to say thank you to the devs at Cakewalk for listening to my request to have the preset screen remain open even after selecting a preset I thank you so much because this feature alone made me use this synth as my main synth for playing live worship at church The sounds I have created with this amazing synth are so awesome that the first time i hooked up my iPad to the DI all the guys in the band were like what is he doing Until they heard what was coming out of the mains well they all became believers that the sonic power that an iPad Air can produce is nothing short of amazing Though this Synth i now bypass my Yamaha MOXF6 and just use it as a controller when playing live Dont get me wrong I love the sounds of the Motif but who can carry that thing to work to lunch breaks etc No one But I have all the sonic power in my iPad thanks to Z3TA I can use it during my lunch hour breaks etc any time any where and create sounds only I dreamed could be done on a desktop or a 2000 synth Not anymore Times have changed Meet ZT3A Man I really love this amazing Synth I worked on the song by Phil Wickham called this is Amazing Grace and created the patch that sounds exactly like the one in the song It is so awesome to hear it come out of the Main at church full blast I know that it is still work in progress as somehow the patch exporting thing broke along the way But I am still on IOS82 and with the help of a program I can access my Preset folder and I can transfer those out at any time and load them back up So I have no worries in that respect for now I do hope it gets fixed but let me be clear this in now way affects the way the synth sounds The synth allows you to program presets and create new sounds straight from your mind to the iPad I am using the Beringher UCA222 that I got at Amazon for like 25 bucks i think and that is basically my soundcard for the iPad With that I connect to the DI via an unpowered USB 11 hub and the camera connection kit CCK hooked up to the Motif via the midi to usb adapter and that is all i need So for anyone thinking hard about getting this synth I truly believe that it is worth the price of an iPad alone if not more This is the new generation man we are mobile musicians dreamers artists We have the tools now to make music anywhere our inspiration strikes Z3TA is here to make that inspiration come to life I love my synth Thank you Cakewalk thank you Apple for bringing all these amazing tools to reality Sincerely Musikman4Christ                 This is my MAIN synth for Playing LIVE WorshipAmazing Sonic Power

No audio from this app since 112015 and no MIDI input sources are available meaning it is not responding to any MIDI input Its gone from one of my most used iOS synthesizers to an expensive mistake Beware     Crappy New Year from Cakewalk

Dont get me wrong this synth is worth 5 stars but the reason Im temporarily rating it one star is so this can hopefully grab the attention from somebody at Cakewalk You cant send customer service a message on their site without going through a ton of loopholes The major issue is the preset menu is buggy It doesnt display correctly the first couple of times you open it after freshly starting the app Then when I want to export a preset I created from scratch to send to Dropbox andor email bam It crashes immediately Exporting presets is one reason I purchase any synth on the Appstore Needless to say I love z3ta Ive used it for years in vst format I just want it to function 100 on my iPad Air 2     5star synth nonexistant customer support

The sound is fantastic unparalleled But for 5 stars and to truly use the app to its fullest with other apps and external midi control individual port selection for midi in true selectable midi sync and mappable parameter control should be implemented These are just as important as audiobus and inter app audio and devs should take note Especially with the open source midi API available from audeonic Would gladly up to five stars once fixed T        Sounds great needs work

Fix the pitch bend wheel The virtual wheel only goes half of what you specify but works on a hardware keyboard The hardware keyboard does not bend smooth it has artifacts Also allow the ability to download and share 3rd party presets This stated the synth is cool and sounds great and I am predicting much fun and use              Great but

I use Beatmaker2 to program beats As a musician I like being able to play a riff and edit it via midi Z3ta has awesome sounds but it does not play via virtual midi The new update makes it look as though it does but I get nothing on my ipad4 I can only give it one star as it was a 20 purchase that I cannot use in my current setup Fix this issue and youll have 5 stars from me     Virtual midi does not work

I must say I am disappointed with the initial release of this synth The lack of basic midi options especially choosing a channel is a massive oversight on Cakewalks part As an iOS music purist I rely heavily on midi to control multiple apps running on the same device and an app that is on permanent omni mode is close to useless in that context Interapp audio control as a midi instrument works sporadically and I was able to isolate midi flowing to Z3TA using TNRi but the stability of that was around 50 once other synths came into play The synth sounds great once you move beyond the mediocre presets so if Cakewalk fixes the midi issue this will be a killer app Until then I cant recommend it at full price        Wheres the Midi

Z3ta is a unique versatile iOS synth However the GUI continues to be unpleasant to work with In short stunning sound great modmatrix halfbaked interface THE GOOD remarkable synthesis engine imports scala tuning maps an iOS first bestinclass modmatrix includes secondary control sources ranges and response curves pitchbend is able to target bent pitches to notes within a selected scale amazing with chords envelopes LFO arpeggiator and effects are all versatile and wellthoughtout effects UI works well THE BAD the interface is clunky and work flow is mediocre master tune function is stupid To tune to 2 cents you have to tap this tiny field 98 times Then when you switch programs you have to do it again Ive reported this since the beginning but theyve refused to fix it synth GUI is cramped on only 3 screens many parameter fields are too tiny to easily tap adjust the performance settings pane is still unworkably small even after recent tweaks the onscreen pitchbender doesnt reach full range so wholestep bends updown are flatsharp respectively The above mention scale bend mode only works for MIDI in and not the onscreen bender the new dragtoset feature needs tweaking it is difficult to control the values listbased parameters should show popmenus support is nonexistent Cakewalk has not yet added iOS version to the support portal If you contact support you will not hear back It just goes into an abyss I repeat there is NO customer service None for a 20 synth app you would expect at least some form of support and a more polished interface If it was 5 I wouldnt complain BOTTOM LINE Spreading the interface out over a couple more tabbed pages would make more room for those tiny parameter fields They could put the EG LFO and Performance Settings on their own page putting the mod matrix on its own page and the arp on its own page adding the ability to edit the arp pianoroll Im glad theyve done a few updates Its great to see that theyve added tuning maps But important fixes are still needed Oh and yea maybe Cakewalk could add a working support system to their todo list        The goodbadugly READ BEFORE YOU BUY

Z3TA along with Thor Animoog are the best Synths in the store Im glad they updated this one on time for iOS 8                 Truly Pro sound on the iPad

Just like the PC version Im using an iPad Air 2 and like its desktop counterpart its a resource hog Cmon on iOS on such new hardware There is NO multitouch Exporting presets causes an instant crash thats one of the reasons I bought it Broken Cakewalk Fix it Along with a lot of your other product line I think being a very long time Cakewalk user that sigh an awful lot of your code needs some serious scrubbing This is a half baked desktop port to mobile Like the PC version it does sound truly fabulous        Fabulous For Ambient Explorations

The sound issue has been fixed and the app is working great Cakewalk responded very quickly to address the issue when it was brought to their attention One of the better sounding synths on iOS in my experience                 Sounds great again
