Seems like a good app but in order to get better robot voice we have to pay 100 why people that are struggling with life an special needs family members that are trying to communicate clearly surely the technology we have today should be a easier way TO EXPENSIVE     special needs lhr155
I tried to use this app to help one of my younger clients with selective mutism but the voice is so strange that it bothered him and it definitely wasn t helping him learn how to pronounce things correctly This app would be more helpful for a literate grown up who can tolerate the strange voice and just needs a way to communicate out loud faster than regular typing         Not for awkward kids Rumi roo
It talks too fast even for people with perfect hearing The worst part is it mispronounces words so you have to sometimes spell phonetically So it s a bit stupid             Needs Tweaking SBaessler
Very useful however my spouse is hard of hearing and says the voices talk too fast and it would be nice to slow the speed down                 Too fast Lukewhintire2342
But I gave 4 stars because I realize that the Verbally does not support for the iPhone I don t speak I don t carry the iPad everywhere I go as I use my iPhone Can you add this app for the iPhone please                 GREAT App Tigger9267
Had throat cancer voic box removed Perfect app was a lifesaver for me allowed me to easily communicate with hospital staff and family Made some really horrible moments tolerable                 Great app lightwav
It is too expensive     To expensive The Plumer
this app was great when it is working properly i purchased the premium app because the free one was too limited It is ok to use if you just want to use it without any of the features like save certain phrases and get a decent voice that can be heard and understood in a situation where more than one person is listening when i bought it everything worked great i saved certain phrases and names of people family i talk to the most But now it has a glitch that won t allow me to edit or save old information or add new phraes I have contacted them and they do know about the problem but i have no idea if they are working on a fix Don t pay for it until they fix the problem             great when it is working Unclenate1000

As a recent arrival in the ALS world I was steered to this application by my speech pathologist at the overworked Department of Veterans Affairs clinic here in Pensacola FL Her enthusiasm for this bit of work was almost boundless so I figured that I d at least give it a look I m a skeptic when it comes to most apps going all the way back to Apple s much lamented Newton system finding most of them to add little function to the iOS Bro use the App Store for a few minutes and you ll quickly see what I mean However this application is an exception to that characterization Easy to learn easy to install and even easier to use and WAY underpriced free for what it delivers it should be the first step of any speech impaired individual on their journey to revocalization For someone who has to rely on someone else or something to do their talking for them this is the app to get What would I change Well the alternative left and right handed keyboards are only available in the abcd format It would be nice to have them offered in QWERTY form as well for those of us more attuned through countless hours and millions of words of use with the real keyboard layout even with the loss of some of the whole word capacity to the longer keyboard format The higher quality voices of the paid version would be nice to have but the FREE version works just fine as it is currently enabled thank you very much All in all an excellent bit of design that benefits this limited population to no end Try it out and see you can t beat the price                     Great value for your money Sensha

I love Verbally because it has helped me alot since I have a speech disability I would communicate with others writting on a piece of paper or writting it as text or someone would translate for me When I joined DANY Disability Action Network for Youth I was happy to be around with youth that have speech disabilities I felt like I wasn t the only one A year ago the DANY coordinator told me about this presentation at the Ed Roberts Campus for people with speech disabilities So I went and check it out they introduced me to a app on the iPad that is called Verbally I felt it really useful for me but I didn t had money at that time to buy it Later in that year my dad bought the iPad 2 but I never used it During Disability History Week I was doing a presentation at a high school and someone would translate for me but a day before the Disability History Week Presentation the person told me that she couldn t make it I was worried on how I was going to present with my speech disability So I asked my dad to let me barrowed his iPad 2 and I download the app Verbally and I wrote my slides of the presentations at the presentation I would just copy and paste my slides from the Notes app into Verbally then just click Speak and it will speak everything that I wrote The students thought that it was so cool how I presented I used my dad s iPad 2 for like a month for DANY stuff and I was approved to be a Yo Volunteer at Yo Disabled Proud I thought that I would really need a iPad now that I m a volunteer because I ll be going to events and I just made the decision of trying college So I earned money just for a iPad Last month I bought the iPad Mini and downloaded Verbally and I take my iPad Mini everywhere I go I m very happy now that I don t have trouble communicate with others Its very easy to say what I want and everyone can understand me Now that I have the updated version of Verbally I don t have to copy and paste I can write my slides and save them on Verbally i love Verbally I never thought a app could change my life                     Verbally damaryb

I work with many students who use AAC if they don t need picture support this is the best app available I also have been using it when I visit a family member in ICU He couldn t speak or hold a pencil He was able to touch the letters and the word prediction feature really helps I think hospitals should consider having iPads available with this program to use with patients to help with communication It would relieve a lot of frustration                     ATP Cindy 44cah
My mother had a stroke this past year She lost the use of her dominate hand as well as her ability to speak I asked for advice from a friend who works with disabled children The iPad was a bit pricey for a full time college student but when I came home to my mom with the iPad in hand she started crying just to have a voice back Thank you developer for this Simply amazing how you gave my mom a voice                     The tears of joy one can get are worth it lostintime04

The calm colors and clear layouts deliver a heaping helping of highly useful capability It flips the script making what can be a constant daily challenge into a cool functional and even fun experience Amazing to consider how many people this may help and more what they may create once their communication is unbridled and the barriers to common understanding are dissolved Amazing to see just how readily we can now expand ourselves with such cognitive prosthesis Intuitive accessible well designed What a gift this is and what gifts it will unleash A silly feature idea A wildcard mark that can be placed after any word then on each repeat the sentence is filled in with a different word This makes for both a new madlib game or more usefully adds a bit of natural variation to repeated phrases Maybe a slider to adjust the range of inserted vocabulary from similar to plain silly Hard                     Bodaciously Loquacious randØmmm
Verbally has been a lifesaver with my cognitively intact nonverbal adults who don t want to use pictures to communicate It was a great tool to use for an AAC eval My patient loved it                     Great app Apujo5
We started using Proloquo 2 as my son s AAC app It almost has too much for a child with so many options and categories I think it is probably great for an adult My son is really great at navigating it but i find it cumbersome even when we have rearranged things I wanted an app that was more simple and would encourage my eight year old s literacy skills in addition to helping him communicate I like how Verbally is more basic and is more like texting which will be a great mode of communication for my son I like how many common words are there whole like sight words he is learning in school as well as the predictive nature My son has severe childhood apraxia of speech as well as a congenital heart defect His expressive language is finally coming but articulation makes it difficult for others to understand He also has trouble putting together sentences For school reports we like to use his ipad I think Verbally is very intuitive to use at first glance which is helpful in the school setting                     Verbally CASA Mom
Verbally is by far the best app for literate adults and teens I do evaluations regularly and my patients prefer it over the other apps I show The free version is good and the organization is great Paying for the upgrade is definitely worth it to get the ability to change the voices and customize phrases It is still less expensive and better organized then some of the other AAC apps                     Favorite AAC app for teens and adults AAC AT SLP
I am currently an SLP graduate student in a facility that treats both pediatric and adult clients I use this app for many of the clients with a variety of communication needs They all respond great to this app because of its simplicity and smooth user interface I recently downloaded the premium version of Verbally and I am excited to use it with the clients to see how they enjoy using the new features Verbally is a wonderful app and recommend it for SLPs and other service providers as well as teachers parents family members and caregivers                     Wonderful App Lizardslp
This is an awesome app I am an SLP working in the school setting with primarily orthopedically impaired kiddos This app worked beautifully with several of my literate children I have both the free version and the premium version and would definitely recommend the premium version it gives you the option of the history and programming favorites The one thing I found with my students was the fewer hits the better So when the message in the speak bar automatically disappears and I did not hear what they said they had to make many more hits than if the message had stayed and they were able to just hit speak again If there were an option to turn that feature on and off that would be awesome for kids like this instead of always having to go to the recent messages which adds about 3 hits for them Right now this is all I can think of I will recommend this app to everyone I know                     AWESOME APP ckpSLP
Verbally is an excellent tool for those who cannot speak The predictive feature is an awesome attribute I have ALS and depend on this tool for my speech Buy the upgrade It is worth every penny The team at Verbally is excellent and very supportive The recent problem with the new iPad OS was corrected in just a few days They are really on the ball I give them my highest recommendation                     Fantastic Tool ALS Patient
When I updated the IPad the application is acting goofy When I type in words to speak it does not stop after it is done and does not save it to the history When I press repeat it only says what I wrote last before the update Also please fix the double space inserting a period Turn it off The latest update fixed all the issues I had with IOS6 Please eliminate the period insertion with a double space Thanks for the quick fix for IOS6                 Fix this App Drkane4
I just downloaded this buti really like it so far right now the only big improvement would be thati wish I could purchase the other voices without doing the 99 dollar upgrade so being able to buy new voices for like 5 dollars each would be nice                 Just download but AutismDogGirl
I lovED this app before I updated it this week Now I can t even get the app to open     stopped working HUSD
We looked at at many communication apps and verbally was by far the best fit for my 12 year old son Even though he is just a beginning reader and writer it was still much more efficient for him than the apps with all the pictures and layers of screens We just upgraded to verbally premium and I can already tell that it is going to improve his ability to communicate and reduce his frustration too The personalized word prediction is WONDERFUL He took to it right away and was happy to see HIS words of his specific toys and wants Having the words right there keeps the conversation flowing which also keeps him focused and willing to stick with the conversation We are trying to teach my son to talk so we have him repeat the phrases he creates through verbally The voice options that come with verbally premium are a great example for how we want him to talk much more like a person than machine I look forward to working with him with the history option From what I can tell it should help him start conversations more independently In addition to helping with communication I feel verbally is helping my son with reading and writing Maybe someday he will be sending emails So far no complaints and since when I had questions when we just had verbally customer service was very quick to reply I am thinking that if we come across anything in the future that it would be resolved easily                     Verbally good verbally premium great Zterripet
Verbally is clearly a well thought out well designed app It works well as an augmentative communication option for adults who struggle with communication I like having an AAC option that is not picture based It is easy and intuitive to use                     Excellent AAC app for adults Danielle Samson

When I updated the IPad the application is acting goofy When I type in words to speak it does not stop after it is done and does not save it to the history When I press repeat it only says what I wrote last before the update Also please fix the double space inserting a period Turn it off The latest update fixed all the issues I had with IOS6 Please eliminate the period insertion with a double space Thanks for the quick fix for IOS6              Fix this App
This is a nice simple and functional app that makes communication possible for those who would otherwise be without it Even as a free version its very useful                 Wonderfully useful
I love Verbally I have a neurological disorder that necessitates use of augmentative communication and Verbally is the most straight forward and useful program Ive used Their customer service is great also                 Great app
Verbally is clearly a wellthoughtout welldesigned app It works well as an augmentative communication option for adults who struggle with communication I like having an AAC option that is not picturebased It is easy and intuitive to use                 Excellent AAC app for adults
I work with many students who use AAC if they dont need picture support this is the best app available I also have been using it when I visit a family member in ICU He couldnt speak or hold a pencil He was able to touch the letters and the word prediction feature really helps I think hospitals should consider having iPads available with this program to use with patients to help with communication It would relieve a lot of frustration                 ATP
Good straightforward app to augment communication for individuals with spelling and literacy skills The voice is a bit robotic and fast but intelligible Core words quick phrases and word prediction help the flow of communication There are features I would like to see like scanningswitch access and customization I wish I could do but for a FREE AAC app it could be quite useful for those with the cognitive and physical access abilities              very functional for those with the skills
I have als Motor Nueron Disease presented upper body Lost voice and use right hand arm For 99 dollars the functions and voice for a man at least is close enough to the same as my bulky stand alone device Yes no eye gaze to control typing by eye scanning But for a hundred dollars and ion my iPad mini this fills a gap for now until I am fully paralyzed I am very happy and wish I had found this months ago                 Cost and features outstanding
This is a very helpful talking to people                 Very helpful
This app is simple and easy to use It has been thought our very functionally Looking forward to using this more in the future                 Very practical
I will now be able to truly talk with my wife since she had her stroak two years ago                 This is much much better than sliced bread I will
my daughters currently use a dedicated communication device but are transitioning to ipads this app woorks great for someone who doesnt need halp with spelling even though there is word prediction it gives them an opportunity to say exactly what they want without having to go through pages of pictures              good for basic communication needs
It pronounces mom as nam We arent going to war in Vietnam were talking to our mothers Why does it say nam instead of mom        Some bad pronouncations
A wonderful app              Verbally
We looked at at many communication apps and verbally was by far the best fit for my 12 year old son Even though he is just a beginning reader and writer it was still much more efficient for him than the apps with all the pictures and layers of screens We just upgraded to verbally premium and I can already tell that it is going to improve his ability to communicate and reduce his frustration too The personalized word prediction is WONDERFUL He took to it right away and was happy to see HIS words of his specific toys and wants Having the words right there keeps the conversation flowing which also keeps him focused and willing to stick with the conversation We are trying to teach my son to talk so we have him repeat the phrases he creates through verbally The voice options that come with verbally premium are a great example for how we want him to talk much more like a person than machine I look forward to working with him with the history option From what I can tell it should help him start conversations more independently In addition to helping with communication I feel verbally is helping my son with reading and writing Maybe someday he will be sending emails So far no complaints and since when I had questions when we just had verbally customer service was very quick to reply I am thinking that if we come across anything in the future that it would be resolved easily                 Verbally good verbally premium great
I love this app It is an essential tool to have as an educator of students with disabilities I love that it reads what is typed back to you or aloud depending on how you are using it This gives children a chance to be heard and learn With its ease of use and multiple functionalities it makes this app a must have                 Great App
Verbally is by far the best app for literate adults and teens I do evaluations regularly and my patients prefer it over the other apps I show The free version is good and the organization is great Paying for the upgrade is definitely worth it to get the ability to change the voices and customize phrases It is still less expensive and better organized then some of the other AAC apps                 Favorite AAC app for teens and adults
I lovED this app before I updated it this week Now I cant even get the app to open     stopped working
Great AAC app for those with in tact reading ability Very easy to use and user friendly                 Great app
It works but there are free apps that work as well 99 is not worth a few extra voices        Good product wayyyyy over priced
This is a wonderful app Please consider adding these features in future versions ability to have Verbally use the iPads shortcuts for more productive keyboard use I use shortcuts to expand phrases such as ty for thank you add the ability to speak text files Notes Pages Word This would be useful for speeches and presentations Thank you              Amazing App
I just downloaded this buti really like it so far right now the only big improvement would be thati wish I could purchase the other voices without doing the 99 dollar upgrade so being able to buy new voices for like 5 dollars each would be nice              Just download but
Verbally has been a lifesaver with my cognitively intact nonverbal adults who dont want to use pictures to communicate It was a great tool to use for an AAC eval My patient loved it                 Great app
I Love it                 Verbally
Great                 Great
