Grids totally dont work with iPhone 5 This could be a really useful tool So designers whats the story           Not all it needs to be

Spent 499 last night for app Saw controls for a 12 a moment when hit one of bottom arrows controls disappeared altogether Can pinch expand lock rotate image but otherwise frozen Impossible not to feel ripped off App support claims bugs of controls fixed Nope     No controls

Would like to see an update App freezes when setting size to frame Once that happens you must reboot your phone Unacceptable in an app that is actively advertised and is not free Seems developer is not too concerned A year since last update        Great until it freezes

Every time I try to access previouslytaken photos on my iPod Touch the app crashes        22 crashes when accessing camera roll

Works great So very useful Really helps me see values better Even has a Notan view plus Levels which you can adjust Very handy to be able to go back and forth from bw to color Just so many things that are useful to painters                 Wonderful app for painters

I was doubtful about this app since there were so many negative reviews however I find it to be very useful as an artist I downloaded this on an iPhone4S and it works very simply Once you click on the Value Viewer App select the camera icon take a photo of your subject use the arrows indicated to view it in color grayscale notan black and white or value levels You can increase and decrease the contrast in notan and value levels with the Alpha and Omega symbols The photo can also be cropped Use the arrows again to select the grid format you want At this point the photo can be saved into your own photo library Voila I can bring it up again if I want to work in my own studio I can also email the photo to myself from my stored photos on the phone and print it out in a large format if need be                 Handy visual reference for artists

Great concept and app Please fix it so it stops freezing once you get to the grid choices If you goose to grid you cant go back wards clear screen nor get to home page You have to delete app and reload losing all your saved data     Great when it doesnt freeze

Handy app for distinguishing values in a possible painting Three values is too limiting tho Please add a fourth and then this would be a 5 star review              Very Handy

I just got this and suddenly the grids will not come on I tried restarting another picture a new photograph nothing No matter what I do the grid stays grated out and will not respond     Broken already

It froze when I opened it and I cannot get it to work at all Not even the help button works Can I get a refund     Does not work

The frame tool only works one wayhorizontally or vertically but will not let me alter both I wasted money on this app     Frame tool does not work

I have to say that even though I was a fan of the last version there were things missing and I just wasnt 100 percent satisfied but now with the update additions of Notan and being able to control the levels and the inclusion of many other controls that put me in the drivers seat well I am just loving this app Thank you for going to the trouble of making this one of my most used apps ever                 Updated GREAT

I use this app ALL the time Great for evaluating values composition Especially good tool for plein air painters Take a quick photo of your scene and see the basic values adjust them to suit and crop for common frame dimensions Outstanding customer service too                 Outstanding app for artists

The controls are in the middle of the screen When the controls are tapped they either freeze on the screen and the entire app is frozen or they disappear entirely The app worked perfectly on my iPhone5 before the last two upgrades Is there a way for me to return to the app as it was before the last two upgrades     May 5 Upgrade does not work on iPhone 5

This app has simplified the design process for me in the field and in the studio Some of its suggested massing options are so much better than anything I could have imagined on my own Works perfectly Not a single crash As for the guy who had problems with sizing and cropping I thought the same thing at first but it is cropping both directions The app is smart enough to maximize the screen size so you may need to rotate your art All of this is on the help page                 Hooked

Best to take pictures using camera then pull up with this app Pictures are not saved otherwise The newer version has great potential but the bar along the bottom seems to get out of view so nothing works Have to power off to get it to work again           Several short comings

Great app that works smoothly with a nice interface It has helpful functions for visualizing plein air painting Please for the grids I would say add a thirds grid That would make the app more perfect but it is 5 stars as is                 Excellent

I use this all the time on my iPad No problems with freezing etc as reported by other reviewers Its very helpful for the initial drawing being able to choose the aspect ratio of the painting and then to put grid lines over it                 Great help for artists

I just bought this ap and only 2 of the 4 features work The only 2 that work are the values and the framing adjustment Very disappointing        Value viewer

I used this first on my iPod touch and loved it Then I got an iPhone 5 It wont work on the iPhone 5 so I tried my iPod touch and it doesnt work there anymore either This was a great app several months ago Please fix it     Great while it worked

After experimenting with this app I can see I will be using it a lotboth outside and in Its great for checking studio work too As a small improvement Id like to see just one more value in addition to the threevalues shown                 Really handy

Works on my iPad and iPhone no save feature though that I can see The web page for info is not available Its a bit too expensive for what it does but hey if you need something and it helps              Easy to use

The values can be adjusted to change mood Each step alters the proportion of light to dark Three values is the best in this usage Size formatting helps match image to panel size Image can be expanded or shrunk to fit It would be nice to have a grid overlay and at some point templates to play with color schemes              Great for designing

Love love love this app except for one BIG thing please please please ad numerical proportions How can we translate to paper if there are no numbers JUST A MUST Then you will have a FAB APP           Barb

I heard about this app from reading Jo Mackenzies book ThreeStep Watercolors I had been looking for an app that would help me view the NOTAN patterns in my photo references before I started a new art piece After getting tired of squinting all the time to look at my photo reference to discern the NOTAN patterns I was grateful to discover the existence of this app I like that I am able to get both the grayscale and the NOTAN views of any of the photos I have in either my iPhone or the iPad The app works best for my aging eyes in the iPad because of its larger screen                 A musthave app for every artist

Ive used this app for a couple of weeks and it works perfectly I Love it Ive used several other apps in the past one after another to try to achieve what this app does in a few seconds Simple concise user friendly Absolutely worth every penny I use it in the field and in my studio                 Perfect for Artists

I love this app when it works Most of the time it shuts itself down when I select a photo off my phone App support button doesnt take you to support so somebody please fix the bugs        Great in theory

Great idea for a tool to reference your photos for painting as you can change your photo to notan or greyscale Never able to get the grid to work Also the ribbon will move the controls off the screen and there is no way to bring them back Please fix this        Value viewer
