I purchased the device because I wanted to read multiple vehicles You cannot just purchase all the add ons at once You must be connected to a car to even access add on purchases Then you can only access those add ons for THAT particular car Just for info we are routinely at below zero temps and sitting in a very cold to car to do this is nonsense So at zero degrees I am in my car and find that now the app tells me I am not authorized to make purchases Even though I am the account holder I cannot make purchases nor can I find any place that allows me to do so in the app If I have to enter credit card info then I will refuse to make purchases because I do not want to give my info to app makers when apple holds it as well     Good concept but

Maybe my expectations for this app are too high I paid 799 for the inapp upgrade for this vehicle a 2015 VW Beetle in order to get a green checkbox that says all sensors are fine Yet my dash has a light that shows a problem with one of my tires I have also checked the tire pressure and feel all tires are fine yet this app wont even let me reset the dash light All in with the device costing 80 and the app another 8 I still dont know anything more about my car than what flipping through the owners manual or google would have told me Thats an expensive lesson Makes me very frustrated     Doesnt help excited lain dash symbols at all

Thieves Big bucks charged inapp for any real functionality Waste of money Poor user interface Live data presented in poor format disconnects often useless Bluetooth implementation is buggy Often bluetooth says connected but uscan says unable to read And a normal scan tool does NOT cost hundreds of dollars Love all the great reviews by Actron employees These guys are just greedy     Need a Zero Stars option

Was shopping around for a code scanner and came across this one glad I did Great product and very easy to use but would like the ability to print out a report the screenshot feature is pretty much useless              Works great

I work on a lot of light duty diesel trucks I bought this for side jobs and for quick checks but doesnt give me all the data that a normal scan tool would Seems like you only get a handful of data pids Why would it give coolant temps but not oil temps To check codes its cool but the data is useless Also freeze frame only works on some codes           Not good as advertised

Got the device tied to this software at the Local Auto shop It works so I will be generous and give it at least two stars but finding out it isnt ELM compatible Very disappointing Worse that means you are locked into only using their software which is the greater offense It is hobbled slow and visually unattractive compared to the ELM based packages Wife shredded the receipt for the device or I would be returning it Instead I will just throw it away I bought addons before realizing how seriously weak slow the graphing is Serious buyers remorse        Incompatible slow nickel and dimes you bad graphing

This little reader works well for my purposes Viewing live engine data as well as check engine codes and the ability to clear them Yes the in app purchase to view live data for a single car is 7 or 8 bucks and around 9 or 10 for any But its worth it and a very fun tool to play with 4 stars because updating is slow and the app occasionally crashes when selecting menu items Ill definitely recommend this to all my friends              Good piece of equipment

You simply will not get more for the money For under 100 you get a scanner gives definitions for 3 and most 4 digit codes plus live scanning of sensors It also saves codes from previous scans for later referencing ABS scanning is also available for a reasonable cost This thing rocks                 Mechanic

Ive thought about buying a scanner for years and Ive always passed because entry level models just arent intuitive and have a horrible interface This works and works well Yeah you have to make some in app purchases but you can at least verify that it works with your cars before you buy them And if it doesnt work you can return the module to the retailer two thumbs way up                 Works fantastically

I bought this on a whim Device paired easily via bluetooth on my Iphone 5 It will unpair if you switch apps or if you lock the device Acquiring sensor data again takes a minute or two This is quite annoying Setup was easy using the autodetected VIN Power train enhanced data gives you a large amount of sensor outputs too many to view or interpret at one time The parameters for my vehicle WRX seem to be scaled incorrectly as my MAP will read 500kpa at 15psi Some PIDs have cryptic titles and I have no idea what value it is related to My biggest complaint is the lack of useful data logging of any type The screen capture or freeze feature is quite frankly dangerous if you want to capture sensor data while actually driving To be competitive this app NEEDS basic logging features selectable PIDs to log simple playback export to csv or similar so the data can be acquired during a normal driving cycle and interpreted afterward ScreenshotUpload to Facebook Really Actron is merely useless data sitting at a stop and again dangerous if attempted while driving This is the only option unless a MIL is thrown Vehicles with enginetrans issues dont always simply throw a DTC It doesnt seem as though Actron is actively improving this app and the UScan module IS NOT supported by any other app developers Its a shame because the hardware is obviously capable of so much more Ill be returning mine to Advance Autoparts eating the cost of the inapp purchases and purchasing something much much cheaper that is far more useful Im quite disappointed Actron        An Honest Review

This product works as advertised As with the other reviews in app purchases are required to get the full functionality so count on purchasing them when considering this product This was installed on a 2013 F250 with a 67L Powerstroke Diesel Based on using this app for several hours below are my recommendations for improvement make the engine code menus customizable For this engine there are 15 menus with 9 codes on each menu The 8 codes or so that I would like to monitor require scrolling through entire 15 screens several of the important parameters arent available for example dpfregenpct dpf1dp dpf1int dpf1outt data logging tabular export would be awesome please add this feature iPad optimized app graphical interface of the real time data better support of the PID identification It took a while to figure out what each data point was based on acronym A support list based on vehicle would be helpful more product information I had to purchase it to determine the total scope of functionality           Good start needs more

Yes you have to purchase additional modules But compare the total cost of this solution to an actron CP9580a at over 200 and you see that its much better Live data is awesome And you dont have to have another device around You use the existing infrastructure of your smartphone Very smart indeed                 Great App and Dongle

I go to college for automotive tech and we use a genysis and a Bosch scan tool that costs somewhere between 30005000 I bought this because I thought it would be pretty handy to have until I save up enough to buy a similar scan tool like the ones in class I tried it out on the vehicles we work and with my professor checking it out as well and we both was impressed with what it can do I really hope they have more addons to this such as looking up pids and be able to control some electronic systems like lighting electronic brake bleeding or turn on lights on the instrument panel It really has its moneys worth if you know how to use it and know how to diagnose a vehicle properly So far I havent found any negative sides to it and I carry it around in my pocket at work and keep it in my truck when I go somewhere Im looking forward to seeing the company add more to it if possible                 Great way for diagnosing

This appproduct worked great at first I do a lot of minor work repairs on family and friends cars but this last update 42815 is a scam Now in order to clear codes out after I fixed a problem they want you to purchase the powertrain for 16 After spending 80 on this product This is not right There was no reason to do this Guess Ill be looking for another more reliable product from a company that hopefully doesnt scan their customers     Should be called UScam

Do a lot of car work and need OBDII emissions and ABS The cost of the device including the upgrades you have can pay for in the app are less than a professional scanner and more convenient for sure 15 for ABS is a sweet deal Works with my iPhone 4S just fine Device looks cool too Packaging was serious antitheft Had to bust it open with a hammer which was kind of fun                 ABS is cool great for pulling codes

Its a pocket on the go code reader with basic data stream Dont expect this thing to do what a several thousand dollar scanner can do With having owned thousands of dollars worth of scan tools myself including a Solus Pro an Encore Pegisys SnapOn Brick MT2500 a Tech 2 and many many others this thing works great for emergency diagnostics I get to pull ENGINE CODES ONLY at Church and familyfriends houses and other various places I read another review where the buyer was disappointed it wouldnt read TPMS Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems Engine data only On 1996newer including CAN you can check codes basic datastream and IM monitors inspectionmaintenance which is what we use in major cities in Texas for OBDII 1996newer state inspection stickers           Its fair Keep your expectations realistic

I downloaded this as soon as it hit the market and the adapter hit the store At first I thought it was pretty cool not very intuitive but I hoped it would progress Insteadapparently after some kind of update the app disappeared off my ipad and I had to download it again and my inapp purchases of being to look up codes and see real time data have also disappeared Now the app is very glitchy and barely works This is completely unacceptable from a company that has been around as long as Actron I refrained from going with some of the more unknown apps thinking that sticking with an established company would be the way to go but instead they have wasted my time and my money     Im so irritated with Actron

having used other scan tools oem and others I find this to be barely useful I have tried it 4 of my own vehicles all late 90s jeep and GM so the pids should all be readily available and there is barely any data displayed most of the time it cant even discover the correct available modules there is a lack of customizability when data is displayed and youre forced into landscape mode with a little work this app could be the best in its category but there hasnt been an update to it since I bought it a year ago it would be great if it would auto detect and connect to the bluetooth obd connector instead of being required to manually connect in settings also once connected it takes the app almost 2 minutes to realize its connected if I dont add the vehicle to my garage it wont let me do anything else with it sometimes I just want to scan for codes without adding to my garage        eh

Looking for a first car for my 15 year old and thought a OBDII scanner would come in handy Purchased UScan hardware at a local automotive parts store and tried to install on my iTouch but the App Store would not allow me to directly install Ended up downloading to a desktop PC and then pushing over the USB To test and get familure with the app I plugged it into my 2013 Ram 1500 and 2011 Dodge Durango both vehicles could not take advantage of all the apps features live datagraphs These problems aside I took the reader with me to look at some cars and did find it useful I was able to verify one vehilce likely had O2 sensors removedtampered with I realize a lot of used car sales would reset the computer so a scanner alone will not tell me everything butit is a good start I am going to hang onto the UScan and try again with a iPhone 5 and see if it works better with it           A good tool for what it is
