Can t say enough about the music loved it The art is great too and the levels are fun It s a really solid game                     Nice puzzles and great music jeandenishaas
Pros and cons at the bottom Reviewed on an iPhone 5 The Last Rocket is a short but fun arcade puzzle game definitely worth the price of admission Each level tasks you with flying Flip around a one screen stage collecting gears and trying to make it to the exit platform Along the way there are little computer terminals to provide tips and a bit of story and there are many hidden gears to try to find which can add to replay value quite a bit The gameplay is straightforward and slowly becomes more complex by the end of the game nothing ridiculous though and the puzzles are great and satisfying to figure out The controls occasionally feel unresponsive timing is often quite important partially because of how fast Flip moves mixed with a lack of supporting the iPhone 5 s full screen However no big deal and I was able to complete the game by making sure I kept my fingers toward the center of the screen Pros Charming graphics and character designs Flip s design is super cute Fun and satisfying level progression Replay value thanks to hidden gears to collect which also adds some nice challenge Cons Not optimized for iPhone 5 s full screen Sometimes it feels like Flip is moving a bit too fast in some stages where timing is vital If you are looking for a cute and sometimes challenging arcade puzzle game don t hesitate to get this one                     Retro beauty with enjoyable puzzles Llamaentity
Controls were a little unresponsive That s my only complaint really                     Great game Natman64
First off don t listen to anything about the controls They take a little getting used to but they work and work well It s like anything that takes practice If you don t get it right away don t write a negative review Anyway The game is perfectly executed The artwork and music are great and the game takes thought and dexterity A little more fun on the iPad due to the larger screen but still a lot of fun on the phone Get it Great work Shaun                     Outstanding tarnation
Very tight game but it s just maddening to try to get everything because flipping just isn t precise enough on a touch screen                 Very frustrating rjmccall
I really like this game but you can t do level select I ve been trying to get all of the coin things and sometimes you land on the exit and it sends you back It should at least be an option after beating the game once because I almost did it before I accidentally went to the next level                 Fun but frustrating anaismarie
I would give it a better score but the controls are pretty bad to the point of frustration The art and music are good do             Needs work on the controls Kun45hu
If Nintendo made games for iOS they would look like this I don t mean visually though the 8 bit approach is charming and well animated I mean in the graduated approach to game mechanics introducing a new technique and then helping the user to build experience with it before adding another one It s a hallmark of great game design and the Last Rocket excels at it The frustrating thing about playing this game on a touch screen is that tap and release and tap and hold are two very different actions in the Last Rocket but not two very different actions to a finger There s no physical springy button like those on game controllers that can offer tactile feedback about its up or down state This being the case it frequently happens that you ll think you ve performed a tap and release when in fact your finger is still close enough to the glass to register as a hold In these cases your rocket dies That does mean you ll play some levels many more times than you might otherwise need to but honestly I don t see how this could be avoided given the device constraints Flip the rocket has an impressive repertoire of moves for a system based on taps and swipes and it d be a shame to limit this So yes you should expect to be frustrated with certain levels The Last Rocket is still very much worth playing and one of the tightest little games on the App Store I m working on my second playthrough now trying to find 100 of the hidden gears                     A delightful game that probably would be better with physical buttons iconmaster
Finished the game and immediately started it again from the beginning It s that fun Shaun Inman s work is amazing                     Fantastic and challenging Felipe Sunol
I was ready to give this five stars then I hit world 07 The touch controls are pretty good but they re not good enough to support a pure action game which some of these levels glares at 07 04 are I m up for challenging puzzles and tricky timing but I m not up for playing the same level 30 times after it s perfectly clear how to complete it because the controls aren t tight enough                 Great game pretty good controls Ross02
Charming easy to grasp challenging but not impossible great gameplay no in app purchases One of the better iOS games to come out recently                     Solid Game johnegraham2
Just a great game This game should really get a lot more love                     Great little puzzler mperb
A very charming and well made game The only problem comes in the later levels when the game requires more precise timing than thought Precision isn t the games strong suit since because holding your touch down causes the Rocket to crouch it doesn t execute a flip turn until you let go of your touch This sometimes makes it very difficult when you have to continuously flip in order to stay in the air The first half of the game is completely delightful though and the second half is still good even with the aforementioned problem Played on iPad 3                 Almost perfect Madyew
I Love This Amazing Game Ive beaten it at least fifty times and it s the only game i havent gotten tired of Its so amazing                     Tied for my favorite game Buy buy buy conciergek
The idea of the game boils down to jumping timing puzzle It s amazing then to see that Shaun didn t bother to make a responsive game The levels beyond 6 require timing more precise than is possible due to the input lag and sensitivity It s as if I m playing a lottery game The most frustrating part is knowing that you ve executed a move perfectly several times but need to do so 10 20 more times before the timing windows line up Unfortunately that s the feeling applying to all the later levels A nice game with beautiful graphics but virtually unplayable A shame the early levels are great     Remarkably Dissapointing Tyler Menezes
I had no problem with the controls Their timing is just part of the game                 Cool game Dr Marble
Frustratingly unresponsive the millisecond delay causes unintuitive control             Unresponsive controls hartw
One of the few games I ve played all the way through I almost didn t buy the game because of reviews about the controls sounding as though they were not consistant or some other flaw in the game design None of that is true The controls are great The game just gets hard and requires timing and coordination Interested to check out the ebook                 Fun platformer controls are great sansmojo
As has been said in other reviews the controls are extremely unforgiving What would otherwise be a fantastic game becomes a mountain of frustration instead I can t count the number of times taps are missed by the app crashing the rocket into traps You WILL be frustrated by the sheer number of times your perfect timing is ignored by the lagging responsiveness of the game It s a shame really but it doesn t look like the developers will ever remedy the situation and make the game enjoyable rather than a hassle     Unforgiving Controls dv8godd
It s a great game but the controls don t seem to be as fast as I need them to be in order to turn around in time Makes me want a thumb killing NES controller or similar to execute turns in tight spaces                 Fun but about the controls adiabatty
I ll admit that this game can be a little hard at times but every game should be challenging I love that it brings back the simple controls and objectives of retro games as well as a super cute character Can t go wrong with a cute rocket Overall fantastic game Catchy music entertaining and really well made Five stars two thumbs up                     LOVE this game Jordan Romero
This game is a beautiful piece of work Fantastically tight controls It s rare to find a game like that that merges old school NES style fundamentals with a deep understanding of modern touch screen games I will admit though the game is very hard Most negative reviews up here come from sore losers I ll admit I m stuck on one of the latter levels I just can t beat it But I ve had an outstanding time getting there Hopefully I ll make it all the way someday                     Great but hard Spagnutty
One of my favorites ios games controls were challenging at first but i think the developer did a great job of ramping up the difficulty level not that i didn t curse his name on occasion lol but i was able to finish it and enjoyed having my skills pushed I also really enjoyed the making of ebook he just put out showed how much planning went in to the game and how much it changed over time will definitely purchase his next game                     one of my faves TheRealMyFault
I can honestly say that this is one of the best games I ve come across Very well done and extremely entertaining If I m playing a game on my phone it s for sure the last rocket                     Very well done irwindigital
The last rocket is not to be missed                     Beautiful artwork and classic soundtrack ericbrookfield
I liked a lot of this game with its cute aesthetics and clever levels Nevertheless I gave up in level 6 because the controls were far too frustrating The basis behind the higher level puzzles is quick precise mid air reverses but because the reverse registers on touch UP rather than touch DOWN the way my reflexes want to work I m constantly crashing and restarting I thought that even with an understanding of how the controls register that I could get it but in a twitchy reflex based game like this that hasn t been possible You can probably get over the control issue with enough practice and acclimation but that process is far too long and frustrating for my patience         Promising but ruined by controls phopkins
Love the graphics and sound design but the controls hamper the enjoyment and gameplay as the levels progress Particularly the reversal animation Level 7 7 becomes a frustrating tap feat because the delay in reversal timing and actual taps not recorded conspire to just make the level near impossible If the rocket requires x number of pixels for launch animation and x number of pixels for reversal then level 7 7 s passage must be the exact sum plus a 1 leeway to execute the maneuver I realized this problem in the early levels but there was still plenty of level to actually execute the maneuver Not so in later levels It s not a matter of game physics either like the rocket slows and then reverses it is actually just the fact that one tap is required to launch and then another tap AND a release apparently are required to reverse An otherwise good game save that major flaw     Was promising but Kai-Feng
Excellent game                     10 10 JpasqO3
It s hard for me to really enjoy most games This one fits in as my absolute favorites on iOS                     Keep coming back to it zachmayberry
Unfortunately it does become impossible in later levels Others have said control issues but I m stuck on a level that seems impossible even if you had a joystick I m still giving it 5 stars and considering how far I made it to be the end of the game I had more fun than most apps Has anyone solved it                     Perfect nintendo game that never was EarthWind&fire
Overall this is a very good game But in the latter stages the controls become maddening The rocket never seems responsive enough when doing midair reversals since the reversal only takes effect when you release your touch I ve also found myself countless times trying to do a reversal but holding the touch down instead of letting go quickly I d like to see the controls tweaked and this game could be close to perfect             Good game frustrating controls kurmbox
Level design artwork sounds etc are all perfect But as other reviews have mentioned there is a noticeable delay when tapping to change direction It s easy enough to compensate on the lower levels but makes the higher ones near impossible             Fantastic game suffers from bad controls teexcue
Several other reviews have mentioned this and I must agree Tap response is simply not responsive enough When you tap to flip directions it takes a little bit before your command is executed This is irritating on early levels and makes the later ones near impossible It s a shame because otherwise this would be a very fun game         Bad controls bdorfman
Interesting system and very polished but this kind of game hinges entirely on the level design and this is just not very compelling Difficulty fluctuates wildly Hidden objects seem randomly placed No apparent indication of missing something until you ve beaten the game which I became bored before I did The designer wrote a very thoughtful post about touch controls which was what prompted me to buy the game but it seems like he had some weird priorities Particularly the most time sensitive action in the game is turning around in midair eg when a vent flings you the wrong way towards some spikes For some reason he decided that this action should be done on release rather than touch just so that it can be overloaded with another action ducking as soon as you land This is so rarely a need whereas turning around in midair is necessary in nearly every level Sorry to harp on this so much but putting a critical action on release is just such a fundamental design error The author is clearly good at some things but I can only assume he s fairly new to game design Hopefully he ll learn and get better             Boring level design bug deal
great puzzle game wonderful art direction sokid controls unique concept buy it love it                     a complete package Kabooom
Feels like a lost game from the 8 bit era Every frame of animate oozes character soundtrack sounds like it s coming from an NES and gameplay is insanely challenging yet fun Don t miss it                     Retro genius noindiecred
I agree with the person who wrote about the animation issue when tapping the ship I m stuck on level 7 7 and while yes you can over compensate on the lower levels it s proving to be way too difficult as the ship doesn t turn when I tap it A game hasn t frustrated me this much in a while other than that bug I think it s well designed Save the headache and wait for an update         tap is imprecise alonecuZzo
I have never been disappointed by this developer Everything is quality work and creative This game proves it Everything fits together so nicely                     Great Game SnkTab
Game is good on lower levels but the designer put in animations each time you reverse direction of the rocket In other words when you tap to change direction there is a little animation the rocket does before the reverses The rocket does not turn exactly when you tap On lower levels you compensate by turning early But by the time you get to level 6 or 7 the timing is too imprecise and you re left with a game that s not much fun and gives you too little control to feel like you want to work through the harder levels I d give it an A for style and concept with a low C for gameplay         Good to a point KarmaKarmaKarma
Brilliant Looks and sounds like your favorite NES game plays like Cut the Rope You ll love this                     Are you a geek that likes Cut the Rope bpapa
Best game yet                     Pure awesome CDeCaro
Once you figure out the play mechanics which can take some getting used to this game is a ton of fun The price may seem a little steep for a 2meg game but what you get is well worth it                     Simply awesome Jaffe37
Can t recommend it enough If you re nostalgic for the classic games of the NES era this is well worth the money                     Best game for iPhone this year Crash-up
Really enjoy this game                     So much rad _tb
This game is very well done and is addicting The only gameplay issue is that the controls are a little slow sometime so some more responsiveness there would be nice Adding Game Center is needed too With those it would be a 5 star app for sure                 A lot of potential but still some room for improvement Ross Kimes
I like the game but 3 dollars seems a bit steep for this kind of game                 Cool game but not 3 cool Alvaro Garcia
I like this game fine It is perfectly responsive to taps but you have to let go of the tap and that makes it really challenging When your tap is most important you tap harder reflexively but that makes the tap take longer overall I m also stuck on 7 7 but every time I die I realize I m still squeezing the screen             Game is perfectly responsive but still hard bsdfm
Great design ramps up nicely Note it is VERY EASY to accidentally delete your progress an are you sure confirmation might be a good idea Also Would like to be able to jump back to certain levels                 Well done kfan
The Last Rocket is easily one of the best games to come around in a while It s got an outstanding retro feel but is perfectly optimized for iOS This one deserves to be at the top of the charts                     Gaming Bliss bgribin
The last rocket is not to be missed                 Beautiful artwork and classic soundtrack
Cant say enough about the music loved it The art is great too and the levels are fun Its a really solid game                 Nice puzzles and great music

One of the few games Ive played all the way through I almost didnt buy the game because of reviews about the controls sounding as though they were not consistant or some other flaw in the game design None of that is true The controls are great The game just gets hard and requires timing and coordination Interested to check out the ebook              Fun platformer controls are great
Controls were a little unresponsive Thats my only complaint really                 Great game
One of my favorites ios games controls were challenging at first but i think the developer did a great job of ramping up the difficulty level not that i didnt curse his name on occasion lol but i was able to finish it and enjoyed having my skills pushed I also really enjoyed the making of ebook he just put out showed how much planning went in to the game and how much it changed over time will definitely purchase his next game                 one of my faves
Game is good on lower levels but the designer put in animations each time you reverse direction of the rocket In other words when you tap to change direction there is a little animation the rocket does before the reverses The rocket does not turn exactly when you tap On lower levels you compensate by turning early But by the time you get to level 6 or 7 the timing is too imprecise and youre left with a game thats not much fun and gives you too little control to feel like you want to work through the harder levels Id give it an A for style and concept with a low C for gameplay        Good to a point
Really enjoy this game                 So much rad
I Love This Amazing Game Ive beaten it at least fifty times and its the only game i havent gotten tired of Its so amazing                 Tied for my favorite game Buy buy buy
I can honestly say that this is one of the best games Ive come across Very well done and extremely entertaining If Im playing a game on my phone its for sure the last rocket                 Very well done
I really like this game but you cant do level select Ive been trying to get all of the coin things and sometimes you land on the exit and it sends you back It should at least be an option after beating the game once because I almost did it before I accidentally went to the next level              Fun but frustrating
Level 77 was a bit too hard but I finally got lucky and made it past Overall a great game if you overlook some nitpicky things like not being able to turn the music off The controls frustrate you in a couple of levels but work well for the most part Sometimes a change in the strategy or timing is all that is needed to get you through a level where you are stuck Im on my second run through the game as I missed a couple of gears                 Sooo good
