This app is 4 stars to me A five star app would allow you to follow your progress and mark things off For example if if finish 2a in tenderfoot i should be able to check it off Please make that happen Thanks              Mark stuff off

Its handy if you dont have your printed copy but it needs more features to be truly useful A search feature and gotopage feature would be great           Needs More

For 10 this ought to family shareable just like 90 of all other apps     Not family shareable

Waste of money the scout trail app is way better You can only see the pages you cant do anything else you cant save pages and you cant check anything off     This app is a waste of money

As an Eagle Scout looking to pass on what Ive learned to my daughters particularly around knife safety and knots I immediately went to downloading this app since coming from the BSA I considered it would be official current and relevant It is absolutely nonfunctional on iOS 81 Its unconscionable to offer this app for 10 when its not even making use of the space for an iPhone 5 Its clearly not been maintained Very disappointed in the BSA for having their name associated with this mess and its a 10 I regret having spent vs buying the actual handbook     Completely Unusable

This is terrific now when I forget my book at home I use my iPod                 Awesome

This a good tool especially when combined with a merit badge app Now Id really like to have a Guide to Safe Scouting app              Very handy

This app is basically a fancy reader that does not function well when compared to either iBooks or the Nook readers The reader crashes frequently on my iPhone 4 and my wifes 4s when in the text only mode For the price I would expect more functions like record keeping for tracking of advancement I would suggest saving your money and sticking with the book for now        Needs more functionality not a good ereader

Buggy in iOS 8 DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY Thought it was an iPad app too its only supported as 2x as an iphone app on the ipad For 10 I thought that was what I was going to get Please update the app and make it universal     BUGGY iOS 8 Needs to be a universal app for iPad too

I use this extensively as a Webelos Den Leader when learning ahead to what the boys will be doing in the next years of scouting I prefer to use this in 2x mode on my iPad as its perfect for reading without squinting I very much appreciate this as reference material The Boy Scout Handbook Support link points to the scouting website so I do not know where to report bugs I have found one minor bug with the page resize feature Doubletap to zoom in on a page and then tap and slide to turn the page Tap and slide again to return to the page that you zoomed Notice that it is back to default size Doubletap to zoom again It is now very tiny                 Extremely Useful

like keeping this in my pocket rather than carrying around the book I like that it updates and kinda keeps current Books are ment to be veiwed on the iPad and until this app is iPad compatable I will give it only one star     iPad

I like the app but it needs better formatting for the iphone and viewing capabilities           Good but still needs improvement

This version isnt as helpful as the actual book it doesnt include the layout for the uniform Stupid to not include it Trying to help my son with his new uniform but the electronic version doesnt have the info I need        Not as useful as the actual book no uniform standards

I always have my iPhone with me now I can access the Handbook without its bulk BSA Id like to have the merit badge book too                 Very handy

Great app useful when you forget your book because we all know nobody forgets their phone Only wish you could check off requirements for rank advancements Would make it easier to now what you have left Also I wish that it cost a little less 7 or 8 perhaps Or is that just wishful thinking              Get it now

Please update with more features Its been over a year since it was updated It takes forever even on an iPhone 4 to load a page Otherwise its a great app It has all of the information from the printed book and its a fantastic reference           Great job but please update

Ive had this app before I was even an Eagle Scout Its one of the few apps Ive never deleted off my phone I love it cause I always have to go back and reread certain sections I hope they make the field guide as an app tooi would buy it                 Eagle Scout approved

Im not crazy about the new handbook but thats of no fault of the app I still like my handbook from the 80s better It is nice to have a copy with me at all times Get this app for convenience not as your only copy of the book I hope updates will be made to make the book easier to read All in all well worth the 10 Im hoping for Cub Scout Venturing books sometime                 Very Handy

The app does what it should but doesnt use the full iPhone 5 screen An already small image of the scout handbook could be a little bit larger if this were addressed           Use the full iPhone 5 screen

I am a unit comissioner and long time scouter downloaded it thinking it would be a nice app turns out is just a scan of the book heck i could of scanned my own book and done the same You cant even read the pages unless you zoom in and have to keep moving it side to side no full page view all print errors are there and the color looks like a scan Buy a waterproof copy of the handbook and its better     Do not purchase this app

I was dissapointed It is not much better than a PDF version of the book I would hope that they will do some updates to make this a lot better I would wait to purchase it until it has some features that add value beyond a PDF like app        could be a lot better

The app is a good current version of the boy scout handbook but thats all it is however the searchable index and bookmark features are very nice and are proving very useful in helping me study for my life scout board of review              Worth the money

I loved the book used it all the time during Scoutmasters Conference I upgraded to iPhone 4 and the book didnt come along Um not paying another 10     Cant upgrade to a new phone

Expensive compared to other apps but cool to have Please add a go to page and back button Search could be improved its not a complete search I tried searching page 31 and nothing came up Good start but keep working on it to make it a true 5 worth the 10           Good app but a bit pricy

This app used to be quite useful but the author has not been updated in some time New requirements are missing Avoid this until the author updates it     AVOID THIS Not Updated

Its ok for just having a digital PDF like copy of the Scout Handbook but it would be helpful if the references to page numbers in the requirements section could be linked references to those pages Text Only view is nice for readability              Needs Cross References

I am very pleased that I purchased this app It looks great and works well when I need something during a meeting A version that takes full advantage of the iPad screen would be a good improvement I want more I would like to see other official publications from BSA turned into apps Having all of the leaders guides handy would be great but I would probably still buy the print edition just to have a nice crisp copy on the shelf Thanks for this Dave M ASM              Good App Hungry for More

On my First Scout Meeting crossing over from webelos II to Boy Scouts I didnt have my book so I asked troop leaders if I was aloud and it was ok It was Excellent Magnificent Wonderfull And I use it now at home for requirement reminders and for reading I really love this BSA is also a great program whatever I could name it Ive learned a lot As an American I Will Do My Best to Be Clean In My Outdoor Manners Be Carefull With Fire Be Considerate in the outdoors and be Conservation Minded I would now reccomend an app with all Merit Badge Pamphlets                 Magnificent

Restarted iPhone after downloading find any page tap on page to enable menu view as Text only Tap on the page and app exits Clicking the link for The Boy Scout Handbook Support in the app store dumps me onto the BSAs home page Using relevant keywords in BSA search is an exercise in futility Will keep troubleshooting as it may just be my system     Keeps crashing

Dont know what field craft is in the print version now but it is nothing close to what is in my old handbook from 1982 I would not suggest this app as it has very limited skills Its more of a checklist and planning guide than an actual Boy Scout Handbook     Not the handbook I remember

Over all not bad I like the idea of having the BSA book on my iPod But I think we need more then just the book like a way to make a list of when we get a requirment done And maybe during the 2010 jambo have an live update and thats days plans posted We have payed 10 that we could have spent on about 10 other apps give us more I would have to say the idea is there but more apps from the BSA would be nice But not a bad app right now              Needs somthing more

Its nice to have The Boy Scout Handbook on my iPhone It would be nicer if it didnt continually crash The text on the standard page view is usually too small to read without having to zoomin and fidget with the device So the Text Only view was a great idea but its not without its quirks When in the Text Only view if you dont scroll the page just right or if you tap the screen the application crashes When you restart the application it resumes at a different but previously view location in the book Which brings me to my final grievance Why isnt there a search parameter that allows you to enter a page number and jump directly to that page Developers please consider my complaints and submit bug fixes and updates        Needs bug fixes and updates

I have had this app on the iPhone and iPod touch and it is so much more useful on the iPad It makes for fabulous demonstrations                 Simply amazing on iPad
