Target Scan

This app is awfully difficult to review since it is based on one particular target design and I dont happen to shoot that target So apparently you wont get accurate results unless you use the ISSF 10 meter Air Pistol target I doubt youre going to sell many copies of this app in the US Somehow the measurements are going to have to be made independent of target type for this to be useful to more than a handful of shooters        Good idea but

App has most of what Im looking for when it comes to bullseye pistol shooting The dev is very responsive to suggestions              Love the app

Must make in app purchase to keep scores Scores will not share accurately between iPhone and iPad Saved scores disappear randomly so you must constantly use backup function Backups are saved and old cannot be cleared out so memory keeps expanding Needs to be cleaned up to my vote        Very buggy scans ok but in app purchase then data loss disappointing

My 11yr old son and I both shoot 10m Olympic air pistol This app is now part of his training and used weekly for our in home father son tournaments Very accurate I take the pictures with my iPhone and utilize the blue screen on the iPad Works perfectly I am not thrilled with the high price of per discipline I would be open to pay a bulk price to unlock sessions for all disciplines Or even a discount for multiple disciplines                 Works very well

Just bought the app and its very limited I shoot 25m 22 air rifle This combination is not an option I wish it would allow you to choose any caliber        Very Limited

Summary The idea is great and it does work but I couldnt get it to score as close or repeatable as I had hoped Suggestions Id prefer if the target didnt have to be kept vertical while scoring It would also be more convenient to pick the hole color and put the colored paper under the target on a horizontal surface Keep an eye out for this app as it improves           Lots of potential

This App works great It is easy to use and gives you useful info on how you are doing I use it on my iPad It captures the shots and scores them automatically I recently joined an adult Olympicstyle shooting club and I have been trying to improve my accuracy The results of scoring a set of targets helps give you an accurate score and helps determine the progress you are making Also customer support is first rate and extremely helpful If you have a question you get an answer usually right away Highly recommended                 Works great

I love your product It scans target very well However there are few request I have asked developer 1 SR1SR21 and MR31 is high power rifle target there for to add choice in ammunition section for 223Rem 556mm for AR and 30 cal such as 308Win and 30 carbine Or give us a option to INPUT OUR OWN AMMUNITION INFO this will be great for all targets and for the people who reloads 2 Position choice on targets are only in PRONE we also need STANDING and SITTING These improvements will make your product perfect Thank you BakGom                 Great App

Go this app because I heard good things about it but was surprised to find it had no ability to manually add shots nor that it could use images taken outside of the app Add these two features and I will rate higher        No manual tracking

We have been using this application for ISSF Air Pistol for several months now We find it easy to use and very accurate On those occasions where the scoring is off it is extremely easy to step in and manually correct the error We have tried creating the scans with both white paper and a blue screen as the background We find the blue screen iPad light table much more accurate We suspect a piece of blue paper placed behind the target to be scored might have a similar effect This is a great application for the price Sius Meyton etc cost thousands This application provides shooters with almost the exact same feedback without the cost even when consumables targets are considered in the equation                 Pleasantly surprised

If you care about tracking scores you MUST get this app Tons of targets Incredible scanning algorithm Just do it                 A must have for any serious bullseye shooter

For less than the price of a good tin of pellets you cant beat it Scanning accuracy very good and with the analysis functions setting sights and reviewing technique is made very easy                 Near perfect

I just purchased and tried your application it is just the application I have been looking for I love it so far The developer responds to questions in a timely manner which is great I played around with the applications all weekend with over 70 competition ISSF target shots and it worked each time It would be nice to have the following additional features if you do not mind me providing feedback To be able to load images from camera roll so that the user can do a bulk entry It would be nice to have a section on pistolrifle inventory To be able to add BB type would be nice It would be nice to be able to write down notes on the targets It would be nice to be able to modify the caliber of the bulletBB eg 45 mm or 452 mm 55 mm vs 552 mm etc Thanks                 Totally worth the money

The accuracy is superb and the process is quick and painless to produce results that are superior to other products I have used I looked at my target archive and found a set of targets from an ISSF Grand Prix event that required 15 of the 60 targets be plugged This program performed with the same accuracy as the human judge on each of those shots Well done sir                 Excellent Product

You by the app for 5 then if you want to save more than 1 target of each type you have to pay an additional 9 for each target type you want to save I dont think so     Bullschitt

Keep in mind I am writing this review from an International and Conventional Pistol Shooter perspective I have been using this app to score air pistol targets It is useful if you want to score them using the decimal system It is fairly accurate and allow you to make adjustments if it is off This app allows you to take detailed notes and keeps track of your different shooting sessions It also gives you some analysis tools to improve your shooting and track your progress This is not a Scatt or Noptel system which allow you to analyze your shooting before during and after the shot For what it is it is a great app for someone who is serious about improving their shooting                 Shooting Journal

I am wondering if I can obtain a refund for this product because it simply does not work I scanned over thirty targets and the app scored only one correctly As it is right now the app rates no stars and I certainly would not recommend it     Very Poor App

New version is even better No need to place the target in front of a laptop monitor I lay the target on a sheet of white paper take the picture and it very accurately counts the score When I practice a 60 shot air pistol match I shoot 5 shots per approved ISSF target for a total of 12 targets I take 12 consecutive pictures and click on done I get my total score with x count as well as other statistics to help me determine if I am shooting in one particular direction from center The result also shows every shot from all 12 targets on on one target Well done Would like to see the next version include NRA bullseye targets such as B6 B8 B16 etc Great product                 Well done

This has made scoring my targets so much easier in 10 meter 177 air pistol and rifle competitions I can also score practice sessions away from competition I use my iPad 2 as the light table and score the sessions on my iPhone 4S and then review them on the iPad later Also able to keep a separate target file for each Airgun so I dont have to search through many files to find the one I want Im still learning about this discipline and this app takes some of the work out of it Thanks                 Works great

Great app set up nice 10 meter indoor range with video camera and monitor now this app provides an exceptional shooting log Be patient with the retakes It may take a few camera retries but it will figure it out and then hit done to keep it I use this app on my ipad and iphone both worked Good using one as a light table This app will make you shoot better great way to vividly review your groups and determine arc of motion vs strays Love it Great idea                 10 meter air pistol

I tried multiple times with various light sources but I could never get it to reliably score by B2 and B3 targets I ended up deleting the app Chip     I really tried to like this app

Still cant score our club green ink targets but does a pretty accurate job on BW targets Has a slight tendency to wander off center points from time to time But all in all worth the time and money              Good and fairly accurate

I think anyone wether new or an experienced shooter could use this app to their benefit Just the ability to analyze your shooting progress can be helpful And it can be accomplished right at the range if needed with ease Comparing data from each session on the range to show improvement or to correct a problem quicker is got to be the number one priority for every shooter And this app TargetScan is that educational aide I would highly recommend it to improve your shooting skills                 Great Shooters App

My teammate and I are using this app couple times a week now for 10 meter air rifle practice We find it very useful There is a nice video tutorial to get you started using we would both like to see the iphone iPad data to be linked at present they are separate not the biggest deal but would be nice There is a good help section as well you should read it as it is brief but accurate The targets available are a bit pricey considering you would have to spend up front to even see what is available right now only 10 m both air and pistol a 15 yard pistol and 50 yard one also one other I cant remember off top of my head think a 25 you do only get one session per target type as the other reviewer pointed out with the original purchase Not such big deal but does make the app somewhat pricey overall We have had no problems with stability it has worked flawlessly Theres a thermal viewer that is really neat wish you could print or send that data right now you can only view it but it is really boss I have at least 3 or 4 other programs that I got for shooting from the apple store and this one I am using the most thanks              Using at practice

This is my third review of target scan You can read my previous review below The short version of the review is Get it The latest version of target scan is a big step forward in terms of accuracy from the previous versions While I was enthusiastic about the previous versions this latest one is the best yet Over the past month I was able to do a statistical evaluation comparing scoring results between target scan and the system used at the olympic training center in Colorado Springs Even though both systems operate on different technical principles the scoring accuracy and precision was virtually the same Understand that the latest version of target scan will never replace the scoring systems used in international competition they are designed for different users in term of accuracy and precision it is a wash Also the latest version of target scan is more forgiving of lighting requirements when scoring than previous versions I can score targets on a white background under room lighting or if outdoors I just hold the target up to the iPhone camera and I get very good results To understand what I mean go to the developers youtube channel and watch the video Congratulations to the developers Some other things that target scan does for me is provide statistics and the ability to maintain a shooters diary The diary has become indispensable to me as a means to improve and is a lot easier to manage than a paper notebook Scoring results stats and diary are all stored in iPhone memory If you have an iCloud account your data is automatically uploaded there for archiving Otherwise you can archive your data by mailing it to your email account There are some behaviors that need to be improved One problem occurs when creating a diary entry If you are typing and a phone call interrupts then all that you have typed is lost when you return to the app fortunately the scoring information is intact Also when the app is updated to a newer version all previous data is removed from your iPhone If you are using iCloud then you can recover your data if you have archived your data via email then it remains there in your mail account However if you update and you have not archived via email or iCloud then it appears you are out of luck Fortunately the developers are very good at listening to users and if history repeats then there will be fixes in the next version coming soon Other reviews gripe about the cost of this app or the fact that the basic version does not have all the features turned on requiring more money in order to get certain targets features etc To date I have spent less than 15US on this app to get it to do what I need to to do I am a very avid 10 meter air pistol athlete That is less than the cost of two tins of pellets I think the app is certainly a good value if you are like me Other reviews claim that scanners or other equipment are required to make it work These reviewers did not read the instruction annual or watch the video and are mistaken All you need is the app and an iPhone I have run the app on an iPhone 4 and iPhone 5c it works equally well although the 5c processor crunches data much faster than that of the iPhone 4 giving nearly instantaneous results Summarizing if you are interested in becoming a better target shooter then this is one thing I would recommend having From someone who shoots a lot this app is indispensable It scores your targets and enables one to keep a complete journal in your pocket I use it every day All of the poor reviews were written by people who didnt watch the instruction video or are unfamiliar with iPhone apps in general Best results are obtained using good quality paper targets and wad cutter pellets A ragged hole is not going to be scored with the accuracy of a clean circle My guess is that the app can distinguish two shots on top of each other with an offset of about a quarter of a millimeter I can score a session of 60 shots in about a minute and images and stats are created instantly Wow If you are using cheap paper or anything other than wad cutters then you wont be as enthusiastic about the app as I am Otherwise get it                 Latest versions keep making a great app better

Im really unimpressed by this app I can visually score all 4 positions FASTER than it takes this app to process Not only that but to get target to scan you need to bugger up the back side to make a visible holethat kind of DEFEATS the entire aspect of scanned targets Ill keep dinking around but as far as I can see its neither user friendly or accurate for BB gun targets     Target scoring app

Initially it took a few trys to take a picture of the target properly but once you get the hang of it works great Even scores a ragged hole where the 10 ring was sometimes I get lucky There is an in app purchase to unlock a journal feature that lets you compile a shooting history for a particular group of targets Mine unlocked all the air pistol targets I believe The developer is very responsive to emails and reports standard bullseye targets are on the way with 38 45 in the future Definitely not some thrown together 99 cent type app                 Very cool

This app requires an external scanner useless without the scanner Waste of 9     Requires external hardware

The ad for the app should explain the need for in app purchases to maintain a diary of shooting sessions The app needs the ability to manually identify the shots on the target for when the app doesnt Identify the shots correctly eg When the paper tears and makes the hole large The app doesnt identify shots on the paper but outside of the target circle Really neat idea but needs work        Neat idea but does work in practice and requires more to save more than one session

This new update has gotten extremely buggy When scanning targets it will say that is cannot see aiming mark You then have to close entire app and reenter By then all previous scans are gone and you have to restart     Old Versions more stable

Ive found that this has been the most useful app Ive tried for precision shooting The target scanning is surprisingly effective the developer is really responsive I find the documentation in the app to be really helpful rare for mobile apps and the developer has been great about updating the app I highly recommend this to anyone engaged in precision shooting                 Really well thought out

The camera sometimes has a hard time picking up the holes but I fixed that by putting a white sheet behind the target and backlighting with a flash light Scoring sight adjustment and record keeping are a breeze now Highly recommended                 Awesome app

This app has a lot of very nice features and it is a must for precision shooter There are things to be added and fixed and hopefully they will be implemented soon taking pics from library editing of individual targets              Great app room for improvement

I like this app very much The scoring is very accurate most of the time I did have some targets that I had to rescan a few times but my lighting conditions were much less than ideal Otherwise I have nothing to say but positive things about TargetScan 5 stars                 Great app

I shoot 10 meter air pistol targets same as NRA B40 and this app makes scoring and recording progress wonderfully easy I put ten shots on each target and I havent had an error yet It is so good at determining shot placement its almost like artificial intelligence Just make sure to use an official target or the app wont work With an approved target its brilliant                 Excellent for ISSF

This is a useful scoring and data capture app There are others with more features but this one has great potential                 Interesting app
