Bought this as it sounded intriguing and promised coremidi support The sounds are fun but keyboard is not useful If they add a decent coremidi support with mappable controllers and low latency this would be real tool and would be 5 stars hands down Background audio and WIST would make it a great ambience creator for other solo instruments would put it in running for best synth in my book Still do buy this if you want to make some cool ambient soundscapes           Sounds great not super useful to me Definitely worth the price

I have to agree with one other reviewer in saying that this synth although pretty great is very limited on initial pass through If you just stick to the presets and work with the multi touch filter then I have to say the different sounds you can coax out of this thing is a little limiting Now if you can really take a minute and dig deep into all the settingsmaybe notch out some of the reverb you can sample some great lines On the mention of sampling I have to give this synth top marks for a great vocoder The filter has a character of its own and that sound translates into most of the other sounds you create I did make the mistake of diving into both this and Jasuto in the same day so my head is swimming with synthfo I need to read the manuals to get fully involved              Great filter

Yes some copy paste would be nice Importing sample and mic input should be easier possible The sounds do have good presence yet perhaps not enough differentiation If a bit more could be added to the mod matrix it could make this great Ring mod FM etc              Good start

Of all the synth apps I have bought synthtronica is the only serious disappointment There are a few really great synths in the app store Xenon Korg iMS20 nLog Synth and sythtronica kind of pales in comparison So far it is definitely not worth the five bucks wasted on it It still gets three stars because I do believe it has potential but it needs A LOT of work           Why the high ratings

This app has some serious capabilitiesand some great features The analog sound is very genuineand the sampler has a simple process for importing or recording sample This polyphonic synth also has an amazingly powerful vocoderthat will render great results This is not a toy like most appsthis is a powerful musical instrumentthats also fun to play The multitouch filter is also very efficient and sound great This is easily a ten star app                 Best Synth Yet

Wheres the promised CoreMIDI support No updates in almost two years Some great sound potential but with newer better supported and sounding synths out that support CoreMIDI background audio and Audiobus why waste your money Wish I didnt     Sooo

Ive had this app for several months Its capable of producing a wide range of rich sounds but the interface makes them hard to use As a result I end up not using them Virtual MIDI or just CoreMIDI would put this synth back in the game           Great sounds needs better interface

UI and Sounds are great 4 stars because I really need Copy Paste to get moving with this App WELL WORTH THE PRICE Joel              Its Great

A very cool app that lets you play with formants in many cool ways Great for doing vocoder type stuff it lets you record up to 60 seconds and wonderful fun control of your filter with multitouch I love when something new and exciting rolls around amidst all that goes on in the app store Jordan Rudess                 Unique and Cool

This is one of the most unique iPad synths available The basic synthesis is somewhat limited but the multitouch filter puts it in a class of its own Add midi support and youll have a great app              Very original concept

Crashed when changing presets and again multiple times when attempting to delete recordings Tried both swiping specific recordings and using the Menu command to delete all Potentially a very cool app but this is a poor first impression        Two crashes in first five minutes of use

Updated review 032911 You just got your 5th star for the addition of copy paste Folks this is by far one of the most original synths for the IPad and I pretty much have them all This just made my day with this update Fantastic update Previous review below I download SynthTronica a couple hours ago and I am simply blown away Layers of tweaking heaven in here Endless possibilities of sound generation This is a absolute perfect synth to combine with Mixtikl or BeatMaker 2 As a standalone synth it is truly in a class by itself                 I am now a Formant Surrealist

Nice sound Needs MIDI and Audiobus to be more than a novelty however Ill give it five stars as soon as those are added              Pretty Good

This really does the sample to wave thing so well the results can be anything you could do with a synth but with raw sample data that can import OR use the micas the wave As easy as it is to synthesize a wave this way on some synths here its beautiful interface invites you to experiment with filtering and envelopes like a synth and beyond The results are amazing and can cover a huge range of designI love this app and it is very stable again Peace Christo                 Wonderful vowels and modulation

This one really took me by surprise but Im glad I finally pulled the trigger The latest update with ACP and the promised Core MIDI update will be the icing on the cake This has such an expressive and haunting sound it does atmospheric stuff better than just about any other synth on iOS and the ability to import your own formants from other synth app recording is mindblowing I imported just a single note from NlogSynth Pro and it sounds like a VINTAGE SAMPLER when replayed through Synthtronica its amazing Very gritty and sort of like Boards of Canada Keep those updates coming dev Recommended                 Super cool synth with an unusual sound

I cant begin to describe how clever and creative this approach to synthesis is Suffice to say you end up with some amazing sounds that I easily copied and pasted into GarageBand Export capability is great Whats really needed is a more complete recording facility not anything fancy but something more than a redbutton and a timer Also it would be terrific if we could get simple control of tempo so that exported bits can be more tightly integrated into the many sequencers available in iOS If the sound files are imported into Logic or Dig Performer then we can make a sound map timing but it really needs to be simpler if we want to work in the iOS environment Just throw tempo numbers out there for the default patches Keep up the great work                 Genius

yes this gets some great sounds i wish the oscillator sounds had more variation more than one and i wish the multitouch window was more programmable had more options seems worth the 5 but would be nice to see an update more current than 10 months ago              yes but

I am a recording artist on an indie label looking for something to help express a unique sound I wasnt certain what to expect A lot of music apps that look cool seem strong or also get great reviews are not at all what they are built up to be Synthtronica IS The creative possibilities are limitless Great presets that you can use to create a whole new sound from and call your own by the tap of a button It even offers to randomly name your new sound with some pretty clever names Handy when a name doesnt come to mind Loads of adjustable parameters filters reverb etc and all laid out intuitively There is also excellent in app on screen help if you get lost or confused But thats not going to happen often I was looking for a way to make new creative sounds for my music and here it is I will be making some cool new pads and melodies and spacey lines or whatever very easily with this                 Finally Some originality this is amazing

Kinda kiddy might be cool for a minute really not user friendly and really lame Spend your money on the korg ims20 and score a real analog vintage synth That youll be able to integrate with external hardware and have complete control of Sorry I wasted my money on this one     Cheesy

This synth really does sound great and unique The response is very nice and the interface is attractive They need to add midi support and greater editing capabilities so you can build sounds from scratch It is well worth the five bucks              A very good synth for novices and pros

For the first couple of days this was a favorite as no other synth sounds like this one however the nasally tone starts to wear thin on the ear after a while and there seems few options to warm the thing up The rhythms and grooves are still fun and the formats have potential but theres no MIDI and no other app cooperation Has been two years since the last updatemay be abandoned Fortunately it is quite stable but a real data hog My 16 gig is nearly full and this is on the short list for deletion if something new and cool comes along Neat but kind of a novelty           Unique but little variety

First of all this synth is fantastic for creating padtype sounds The sounds that it creates in that genre are very good The problem is most of the sounds are pretty close to each other There are subtle differences so if you like one then youll probably like them all I was hoping for more variety The vocoder works by making almost any sample into a musical sound but again suffers from the lack of variability If youre looking for nice breathy sounds with a slow attack then this may be for you If you are looking for a lot of variability or patches with sharp attacks then this may not work for you I think its a fantastic start and hope for great things once this app matures over time and updates           Good at what it does but limited
