Its a good app over all It teaches you all you need to know but you never acquire muscle memory I wish there was something to help support this Unfortunately its going to take me a while to recall the information when I need to Needs practice problems
I learned swift in two days thanks to this app highly recommended Best way to learn Swift
Wording in first couple of lessons was confusing Did them over and to see if I was missing something Nope Wording in first couple of lessons was confusing
Its worth 3 however 4 would be pushing it Needs to be more comprehensive Swiftly is great for the restroom
Thank you so much for this great program Thanks
I have just went thru the whole app and it was cool I also got the premium dark theme This app is definitely worth the money if your looking for a nice introduction to the iOS coding world If the developer could add one thing to me it seems they should explain the use of each lesson in real programming 55 Great for beginners
Pretty awesome Good
Its a great way to get an overview of Swift The language is simple which helps with accessibility and understanding Quick and fun
Im new to coding but want to learn app development I found Swifty to be quick clear clever and to the point Worth the cost and time After one weekend Im not so intimidated by code and actually believe I can do it myself which is the first step to doing anything new right Great Swift Intro
Great app I love it Its definitely a great intro to Swift Suggestion A glossary of some sort for all the key terms and a quick brief description would be phenomenal Just a thought Thanks Glossary
Succinctly presented Great idea Some kind of mini compiler that permits writing code will be a major valueadd Clear concise with one but
I love Swifty App Happy Owner
Great way to dive into learning Swift Nice intro
good app but follows the typical Apple model ie as a developer here is an app that teaches you our language but of course if you want to learn it step 1 is pay us so lame typical apple
This is a great app for beginners who doesnt own a mac Brilliant
Great App Great App
I am a newbeeie to programming and I love the way swift teches programming Its awsome
You only get onethirteen page chapter thats about as useful as oneply toilet paper The rest of the game costs money The second chapter is 99 cents If I could give zero stars I would Awful app What A Money Grab
This app is so amazing it really teaches you a coding language Ive learned a lot Such a great app
I love this app I can learn easy codes fast This is pretty cool
Good app for the basics gives enough info for some basic coding and good starting place to learn Swift Good app
Ive been learning Swift for about half a year now and this app has been such an awesome tool Best
Great app covers a lot of good fundamentals I think the creating comments part should be introduce in the earlier chapters but great overall Great app
Totally worth 4 Great
This app is great Just a little bit more of an explanation would be nice but other than that great app Great app
Amazing app easy to navigate great for the hands on learners out there like myself that need repetition to grasp something Perfect app for beginners in programming
Great idea with poor execution I thought they would bring more functionality and allow you to actually practice code Nope Waste of money and time They even call let a variable and a var a constant Sad Nothing special
Im a beginner programmer and this app had little advice and or help It would be nice to see the pieces put together Im more confused now Not impressed
I like the way the developer do it Fantastic
swifty is easy to use and has a great learning curve for beginners buy it its worth every penny Dope learning app
Quick clean intro to Swift Well done
Okay so I got this app and loved it when I realized it was only one free chapter I purchased the full version I am currently loving this app so I will give it 4 stars Although I will change to 5 if you add a code tester to test code thanks Amazing App Overall
Love using this app as a companion to my Udacity course Great for beginners Looking forward to when they expand to cover more topics within Swift Great learning tool for beginners
I enjoyed working through the app and picked up or reinforced syntax that Im mostly getting elsewhere Ill even be keeping it on my phone for syntactical reference The major flaw is that the app shows a lot of how to do things you can do this or do it this way and thats the same as this and very little why to do something a certain way More usage cases and sometimes clearer explanations would be welcome Useful Introduction but Not Standalone
Pretty basic but awesome I just wished maybe there was a bit more to it Awesome but basic
Just what i needed purchased all chapters worth every penny this filled some holes in my logic thanks Great App to learn Swift 2 XCode
It a great app and all But it lacks further explanations I have purchased all the lessons hoping to get more details about each But its Ok Great app try to be a little more meaningful in the definitions Excellent but
Great little intro course to swift Easy to understand
This app stinks it doesnt teach you any thing Crummy app
You only get the first chapter on declaring and printing variables for free Each chapter costs 1 while all 15 chapters costs 4 The way its explained is helpful for new people who dont know the basics of coding but kind of useless for those that do Only First Chapter is Free
Other tutorials tried but this little app really succeeded at opening my eyes to the brilliantly simple way that Swift works Really wish the final questions in every Chapter were interactive with a scoring system but still a great app Highly Recommended Great way to learn Swift
Can wait to see what else they have Great App
Very good tutorials that cover the basics and some more intermediate topics Definitely worth it I did a chapter a day and really liked the example snippets used to teach Swift Thanks to the developer great job Please keep adding more topics Quickly learn swift basics
You can use Swifty to learn the basics without having to get a Mac or download Xcode Its well designed to make it easy and fun to follow along with the app and see how to deal with everything from variables to closures The app does not cover new features like protocols and extensions so it wont make you a full expert But its a good way to get started Easy way to start to learn Swift on an iPad
Id give it a 3 heading for 2 Worth the money especially for novices but could be much better I unlocked all chapters and even though Im an experienced programmer I didnt feel it a waste of money but Im not dancing in the aisles about it either Swifty is a thinly disguised flashcard system with multiplechoice answerssort of Usually it gives you a block of code with one element missing then when you tap on the blank you get options to but in something to complete the code Fair enough but it seems like half the time it doesnt matter what you enter because the actual question has nothing to do with the inputer eg let c3 printlnc The popup with have a choice like 123 and which ever number you pick is correct In the section on closures I went through at least 5 cards in a row where my input meant nothing At that point youre just reading short blocks of instructional text A better way to teach coding it give a block then ask what the output will be eg let c3 2 printlnc What gets printed Answer 5 Really should dock 1 point for no inapp help but this is such a common fault I dont feel like picking on Swiftys developer Help takes you to an email Email support for help is not convienent for users I should have to type out a paragraph on the move on my iPhone and then wait however long for an answer just to get s simple how to answer I tell my clients help is what communicates to your user you give a about them after youve made the sell Does definitely need some inapp help eg Doesnt explain what a Swifty Support Level is but does have a switch under More for a theme change but when you flip the switch it just evokes a dialog saying you have to be a supporter but then provides no other instructions BTW if the function isnt available the UI element should be greyed out BTW 3 is a good score for me Just to provide context Im not one of those people who give every thing a rating of 5 or 1 I give a 5 unless Im salivating on the keyboard and I dont give a 1 unless Im contemplating a lawsuit A 3 rating represents a solid app worth the money for the right people but with room for improvement BTW Im on a personal crusade to make ratings more meaningful I urge everyone to adopt a more graded system preferable one that ends up defining a curve eg 10 1 I feel scammed and wish I could sue App completely useless for purposes advertised Would heavily recommend against regardless 10 2 App functions for intended purposes but has problem that make it difficult or unreliable to use Needs improvementWould recommend against if better options exist 60 3 Middle of the Pack App Does what it says Worth the money Could be improved Would recommend as one of several similar rated choices 10 4 Stands out from the pack Well worth the money but nothing I havent seen before Would recommend above all other similar choices 10 5 A work of art Extraordinary and likely unprecedented usually a unique idea fantastically executed Would recommend this app to people who dont need so they can see what a real app is supposed to look like Useful for Beginner Programmers Not Great
It only gives u 1 chapter I have to pay for the rest Its ok
I finally understand optionals and closures Thanks
It is great however I do hope that there will be more lessons It is great
Like the app thus far I am totally new to coding and it has been fun I do wish that they had more practice rounds built into each lesson where you could tinker around with code So far so good
Learning a language shouldnt cost money If you want to code go learn something like Java or Python for free or find free Swift documentation Disappointment
