Star Trek PADD

Now that Ive had a chance to look at the app with a more critical eye Im in a better place to provide objective feedback At this point the only thing I would really change is the random beeping Even just a toggle setting to disable the random beeps would be great I want it to make sound only when I touch it please This app is very much deserving of five stars if the random beeping stops              Excellent

A good app overall but a lot of photos missing Also would be nice if the photos had better resolutions They look really blurry and low quality Would be nice if entries could stream video clips Finally how about putting in an option to keep stardate always displaying           Fun BUT

There is a ton of great things to be found in this program Just about anything and everything that is related to star trek is in here HUGE data base                 Excellent program

I downloaded this on Sept 25 2013 and am really enjoying it It works great with iOS 7 on iPad 4 I commend the effort of the developers in creating a very entertaining informative app for trekkies The graphics interface is faithful to LCARS and the app effectively turns your iPad into a PADD Theres nothing else in the app store remotely close to it I contacted the developers with questions and they responded quickly They are planning an update in the near future and hopefully will continue developing and improving the app                 Fantastic

This app looks cool and contains a lot of information but it crashes whenever I hit the search button making the database useless        Looks cool but useless

After reading some of the reviews of this app and getting a few chances to use it I have come to the conclusion that people must be approaching the use of this app regarding it as a game of sorts From what Ive been able to gather this app is more akin to a concentrated wickedly themed Wikipedia type resource for most things Star Trek If you approach this app with the understanding that it is a information resource first and foremost then I believe you will enjoy it as much as I do It was well worth the money I spent on it                 Great when used as a reference source

925 last iPad update this PADD program will not open Tap on it and it just autocloses I hope they make it work it was briliiant before the 111 upgrade I recommend buying this for any Trek Fan but I gave this 4 out of 5 stars because The look is there but not enough of it Missing photos in the database etc The sounds are perfect but too much of them The thing is so noisy with random sounds I turn the volumn darn near off It should just be a beep when buttons are touched to indicate input received The Search Mode freezes up half the time Easy to overcome but annoying Hopefully corrected in an update None of the above are bad enough that I regret purchasing it              Was great but now

This is a great app A lot of information I could play for hours Please keep the updates coming Awesome FUN Thanks I wish you could sort the information by series Maybe in the future              PADD

Initially this app is pretty cool After a while it becomes ho hum Im certain the developer put in a ton of work on this and that effort should be greatly commended Having said that there are some things that could make this app better As other reviewers have mentioned the random sound effects do become a distraction after a while I also think that if you are going to simulate a Trek prop by name you ought to hold true to the spirit of the prop Case in point I shouldnt be hearing the PADD make view screen sounds or comm channel effects and I shouldnt hear the computer voice with each button press Overall I like this app but I doubt I will keep it for long It really isnt worth 499 and I believe the only reason the price is set that high is because the developers know that diehard Trek fans will pay for it           Nice but the novelty wears off quick

This app no longer works in iOS 7 Hopefully an update is in the works This was a great interactive database previously Please fix it     Still not working in iOS 7 But nice database when it did work

This is a fantastic reference app and looks like it took a lot of work and its been great The problem is that recently it crashes so frequently I can hardly use it anymore Other suggestions From what I remember in Star Trek the Computer doesnt speak every time a command is pressed Its a little annoying here If their somehow a way the PADD could display a current stardate that would be fantastic           I love this app but

I know Im carping The starship database is curiously bereft of images the episodes should be organized into series and seasons and I would love a Klingon translation tool or online dictionary It does a good job of emulating a PADD but Im waiting for a real LCARS app that CBS wont put out a hit on Still if you like Star Trek this is as close to a portable encyclopedia as your going to get UPDATE New version is faster but still no improvements in episodes or starships           Its great but

This needs some refining Picture quality is extremely poor when blown up to full screen Missing pictures as well Even if there is no existing material for some thing a artists sketch or something would be great I was looking forward to some schematics of the ships like they have shown in the shows and movies but none are there The apps photos here on the page show on of the enterprise D but it only shows up if you let the app run idle and is on the screen for a few seconds Quick brake down of what need to be fixed for a 5 star rating Update the photo quality Current photos are horrid Add more info about the reboot movies Schematics of the ships PLEASE Add some Easter eggs to the interface you have the look of it with buttons to push but they do NOTHING And can I say Star Trek 4 the voyage home Scotty Computer Hello computer Dr Use the keyboard Scotty A keyboard how quaint I mean come on the iPad has a mic in it lets get some dang voice commands going with this app Having to use the iPad keyboard to search Is the words of Scotty How quaint indeed My 360 and iPad can use voice commands come on           Great first effort but Would do 2 12 stars if I could

Hey a great update would be a way to add your own star date log entry Like a mission statement or a personnel log This is what every Star Trek character does so why can not FANS Please give it thought Rest in peace Leonard Nimoy                 Star Date log NEEDED It could be great

Please fix crashing in iOS8        Crashing

Good app but considering its an official app you would think there would be more pictures for reference on ships and technology I sure there are picture archives to delve into to improve this And adding more technical specs for the ships would be lovely           Good not great

Ambitious to do but there are MANY issues with this app First and foremost are the many grammatical issues Often they will misuse plural versus singular terms and vice versa The warp drive entry is one example It is also a great example of missing information in a single entry Several entries Ive looked at have major spelling errors as well Too many to list in fact As a Trek fan I feel more effort should have gone into proofreading the data versus making a nice looking app They focused a lot on the visual imagery to make it look like an LCARS access point but lag time for searches blurry or often missing imagery the poor proofreading and the missing data make this a very poor app        Poor grammar missing info and spelling mistakes abound

This is a Awesome App it looks like and feel like the a real Star Trek PADD The only bad side of the Awesome app is that its information and Data is super in complete Without pictures info or revelant data I just wish the team update it regulary with pictures to the data to see whats the data about and more complete info as well They need real hard core trekkies to elp them out with the info and data and to help the locate the pictures true google or memory alpha because of the looks of it the ones behind the ST App are non star trek fans trekkies or hard core star trek fans                 Totally Awesome

Lots of wasted space that could be utilized to add filter and sort Should be able to filter specific sections by TV series or movie and also switch between sorting by alphabet current default or air date Fix this and I might consider adding a star or two to my review        Wasted space needs filtersort

Im a devoted ST fan When I downloaded this app I seriously expected it to bomb or at best to have all kinds of errors I have to admit I was wro ng on both counts This is the best ST app Ive ever had                 Lcars

The database info on ST Enterprise stops at the beginning of season 3 for many of the bios I looked up           Bios and episode info need updates

I would make like to make a suggestion for this wonderful and fun app When you allow us to access the cast data base Show the second picture of the cast member in character So it becomes easier to identify the member Again great work on this ever changing world of dreams           Ambassador

I had this installed in my iPad when I bought it used now that I deleted the old one and installed the new one its missing many pictures What happened This version was supposed to be better than the old one but it sticks more when going through the menus and is lacking much of the data it had before I was ripped off     Star trek PADD

Great looking app with a wealth of information Many of the pieces of info does not have images Surely there must be something in the archives Or even rough sketches or something that can be added Thats not the reason for the two stars The reason for 2 stars is that the app crashes all the time so I cant really explore the depth of the app Would also be nice if there was a way to browse by series and then by episode in the series instead of just an alphabetical listing of series which I cant see in any case because the app crashes before I scroll past A        Still building this ship

Im using the new iPad Air 2 current version as of 1028 After a few button pushes the application crashes It looks like it would be loads of fun to read through the information otherwise        Looks promising but crashes constantly right now

Just had this for a little while and already more than satisfied A LOT of work went into this app Huge amount of info and realistic sounds and computer voice make me feel I really have a PADD in my hand I have a mini Hard to believe there are so few takers                 Great piece of work

The PADD notified me this week about a Trekrelated episode of Big Bang Theory and about ST Into Darkness While push notifications seem almost universally annoying these were strangely delightful Okuda Co kinda rock                 Too Cool

I had the iPhone version of this app and wanted to get it for my iPad mini I finally decided to spend he money on it and it crashes every time I try to do anything on it I dont know if its a problem with the new iOS but its very disappointing     Crashes

This app needs fixed for crashing after clicking something              Fix the crashing for IOS8

The interface looks attractive but unfortunately the sound doesnt work within the application Even rebooted my IPAD Air 2 and still to no avail My sound works in other applications just fine just not this one     PADD sound doesnt work on IPAD Air 2 IOS 82

The design of the app is great and very responsive I love the look and sound effects including the voice of federation computer form the shows Majel Barrett The database of information is very extensive with information on everything from every character to appear on every episode of every tv show related to star trek including the animated series and all the movies to the actors and those who worked behind the scenes to the ships and tech from the Star Trek universe However access to the information is limited to vanilla alphabeticalorder listing Every episode of all the Star Trek shows is there along with a brief description of the episode but they are mixed together and listed only by the title of the show If you wanted to find out all the episodes that aired in season 5 of Deep Space Nine for example you would be out of luck It isnt listed that way You would need to know the name of each and every one of those episodes already or go through the list of over 29 years of tv episodes one at a time I cant give more than three stars for something of such limited use A good database can always search through information using different criteria and alphabetical order of everything in the database is the LEAST useful method Add better search tools and you might get a higher rating           Good design extensive database but limited use

Like others I found the spelling errors grammar mistakes missing images videos and poor imagevideo quality quite annoying However my bigger complaint is that functionality has apparently been ignored in favor of a cool look Like nearly all other LCARS apps this one suffers from using a majority of the screen for coolness and flash I would just love it if someone would devote some time to making a really usable LCARS app I think LCARS has great potential for a singlefocus platform like the iPad Its disappointing to see apps like this come out        Not yet worth it

I love this app I have been looking for Star Trek apps like this My only complaints are for cast bios you should have them in and out of costume and much of the databases are missing pictures Also how about a section covering the movies These are easy fixes One more section I would like to see is an alliance section covering UFP Starfleet Klingon High Council and other ruling bodies Also a section covering ranks and uniforms of each race I will be waiting for an update              Great app
