There are many unfounded critics of this game in the reviews I don t think they realize that this is a PORT of an old game nothing new nothing innovative just a port it is a fantastic game and many of the criticisms levied at it poor graphics no battlefield control Those aren t going to change they re not going to update the game because the game is old Having said that I find this game to be really fun once you get the hang of how the economy system works So don t judge the devs for the games shortcomings because those shortcomings are limitations from another era of computing where memory and processing power were very limited so don t buy this game expecting anything revolutionary because it is a port of a fairly old game I really enjoy the game myself START ON EASY DIFFICULTY this is a game from the era of difficult games and there is a learning curve to the game and until you fully understand the mechanics it is best played on easy                     Very good port of an old game Baaagsrsga

You guys did a wonderful job with this game it is just perfect But I want to draw your attention to developing a new game that is more or less the same to this game but changing to a new era say the civil war era industrial revolution era I feel that a new game with this touch would be a great hit You guys could add things such as riflemen infantry cavalry canons and maybe even a little naval warfare As for scenarios you could do the civil war European conflicts the Spanish American war or even the Mexican American war the possibilities are endless really I am really looking forward to seeing a game like this and I know that other people would love a game like this too So please consider the idea                     Dear Devs Soldierboy1417

ANOTHER GREAT strategy game from Slitherine I ve never really cared for the 4X genre however I really like Imperium Galactica Civilization Revolution Starbase Orion and I feel that this sits right there with them along with Autumn Dynasty Warlords as the best 4X games on the App store Challenging gameplay which is deep a simple and easy to use UI detailed help guide and most importantly strategic tactical combat Highly recommend this to any strategy game fan especially of the 4X type                     Awesome 4X game [twentyONE]

I really wanted to like this game thinking it would be like Rome Total War for the iPad Nope not really at all Battles are only won by sheer numbers no strategy involved just rush the other guys as fast as you can If you are looking for a good strategy game on the iPad go with Autumn Dynesty Civilizations Revolution or Total War and they cost less then this game If there were some improvements I would like it more but I doubt they would change the whole programming code for it     Blah nothing to write home about SnowTurbo2002

This is just Egypt with slightly better graphics I ve been playing strategy games all my life and this is totally elusive The tutorial is useless and the manual doesn t give you any information now just later I have been playing Battle Academy since it came out and I can t believe the same company made it Rome Total War is what I hoped for and this is a very poor shadow of that I think a tutorial that walks you through the economics is vital and then you can suffer through the ridiculously limited battle orders that give you almost no control at all unless you love going straight forward I m updating this after two weeks of frustrating play The game has all the right elements but is very difficult to play since it is hard to know how to do what you need to do There should be a city building management tutorial as well as one for battle tactics fortifying and resource management After two weeks of slogging through the mud I still don t feel like I know how to develop the strategy I elect I have finally learned how to manage the economy This is an incredibly subtle game with unlimited options I love it             Egypt again Barry9022

I had this game for PC years ago I like it better on the iPad very addictive and challenging The resource and planning aspect is fun but not insanely difficult like in Hearts of Iron The battle sequences are my favorite part you set up your units with a plan and then hope for the best There is somewhat of a formula to winning the battles but it all comes down to tactics quality of your units combined arms and environment When you have it all you can win some pretty disparate battles which is half the fun for me On the other hand if you screw it up you can lose an entire expensive army in the blink of an eye Only thing I d like to see are more maps maybe a map generator and updated Retina graphics though the graphics really aren t that bad it looks exactly as it did on my PC 10 years ago                 Great Game Needs Retina Graphics Raja Jones

I usually will not write a review on anything I buy but this game is so good I decided to write one I originally bought this game when it came out for PC probably about four years ago or longer It was really great then and it has not changed now for the iPad that s what makes it so good I m really sorry they have not decided to do more of the older PC games to iPad because There really has been some great games along the way that have gotten lost I wish there were some more games like this That s what really makes this a unique game One of the best turn based strategy games I ve ever played hours upon hours of fun I know the cost is up there but it s worth every penny The customizable battle options are are many Truly customizable however you want to go                     Best game yet Clickn0

This is a pretty good game I ve been playing for a few days and find it adicive and fun It s a lot like the Total War series of games which is a good thing I ve wanted something like that on the iPad for a long time What needs improvement The biggest complaint I have is about that the pop up info boxes that give you info about whatever you have your finger on The problem is that the location of them seem insane They pop up on the lower right side of whatever you are selecting which puts it directly under your hand if you are right handed This is a problem for noobs like me who are trying to learn what everything is I find myself constantly having to crank my hand into an uncofortable position to see the info I really hope that Slitherine fixes this the other thing that could be better is more options and options being accessable from the start screen UPDATE Pop up info box issue has been fixed Way to go developer for listening to my request Five stars for you Great game Takes a long time to play but very addictive Serves to fill the need for a Total War like game on the iPad                     A little Total War a little Civ Revolutions TheGooch76

First of all I love strategy games and I don t like them easy This game however is a complete joke There is absolutely nothing strategical or tactical about it The resource model is a joke with only 3 resources but nowhere to trade surpluses for resources that you lack The armies are stupid Before a battle you have to place your armies on a map but from there they will only move forwards No really basic stuff like flanking is possible And once you give the go for battle you can t give directions anymore just watch your army move forward and meet the enemy This model makes winning battles not about being smart but basically the biggest army wins Terrains features are included but can t be used So you can t really post those archers in the hill top or lure the enemy s cavalry into the woods So what s the point of having them to start with I could go on and on about how poorly this has been developed I was looking forward to some kind of Europa Universalis or Rome Total War for the iPad but this game is just a very poor effort with no depth at all Certainly not worth the money they re charging so avoid at all costs     A complete waste of time money StefanThuwis

I spent the day playing on easy The amount of time spent vs the amount of fun received is a joke on easy How can anyone think this is fun The amount of resources you need to conquer your enemies and safeguard your territory is amazing large and nearly impossible to obtain unless you like capturing one city every 2 hours I am already deleting this game and I am a strategy buff Good Luck     Not Fun Undercross
