Having reviewed well over a dozen POS systems before I made my decision I found SHopkeep to be the most cost effective and efficient for my small business It offers an easy to use POS interface and a fairly robust backend operating portal While it does not do everything that one might find in the upper end systems for this price it is an excellent system The shopkeep folks are ading new features and benefits on a regular basis Check it out                     Great System Rackmstr
Unless you plan on buying everything from them the app is a waste of money They try to get you to use specific equipment either to get a kickback or sell it to you If you don t use their card terminal it doesn t work They claim to match any merchant service price but it has to be a merchant that uses one of 2 specific terminals Their merchant service contract is 58 pages long and wrought with exclusions so you never know what you are paying Inventory is a tedious process They also claim it integrates with QuickBooks BUT only if you sign up for another 15 month service and then its downloaded in its own quirky format     Don t waste your money deronde32
I ve been using ShopKeep for 2 years now and it just keeps getting worse with each update They are still not EMV complaint the wireless credit card reader constantly disconnects and there s still no way to ring up product exchanges And now with this latest update sales tax is calculated by item instead of transaction so each transaction now either collects too little sales tax or too much Don t make the same mistake I made there s plenty of better options out there     Don t make the same mistake Jeremy Irvin
I have two stores and i am using shopkeep for 6 months now In both of them It toke me 2 months to finish my stores inventory and entering it into shopkeep One day the synchronization between the ipad and backoffice stopped there was transactions on queue I called the support he guided me to keep pressing on force update button It didn t work then he asked me to uninstall the app and install it back again I did that the queue is empty Because the transactions was deleted The support replied oooops We shouldn t do that Now i have incorrect inventory on shopkeep I have to recount all items one more time and enter it into shopkeep Shopkeep doesn t respond to my emails or my calls Every time i call the support somebody says one of our supervisors will call back And never happens     Don t buy shopkeep AhmedElShahed
I bought a business and they were using ShopKeep and the staff wanted to keep it ShopKeep had no problem switching to my credit card to pay their fees but would not switch the credit card deposits into my account They said I had to have a new one So I opened a new one even though it is 40 more than the old one was The new account would not connect to the card reader consistently occasionally it would but only rarely We called tech support They would not help us because we were a new account They said to use the chat We used the chat and they could not fix the problem after several attempts Then I tried to cancel the account The app instructs you to send an e mail I sent an e mail The response said to call I called They said they would have somebody call me back I have e mailed and called subsequently no action Bottom line if your account is working you are ok but if you are looking to change avoid this organization like the plague     Good Software but Horrid Customer Support Gator Hermit

While getting setup with shopkeep I informed the sales person the size of my warehouse that I planned to used this system I explained the square footage and the fact that I will be opening a bigger warehouse with retail space I was told that shopkeep will work with my setup with no issues I had to run out and get an iPad to use as the register I had to also purchase very expensive scanners socket brand that was shopkeep s recommended and supported device After doing my research on the scanners I discovered that I would need the scanner model that had over 300ft Bluetooth range 7Di I purchased two and started counting and getting my inventory going only after a month of starting the service I started noticing that the scanners weren t scanning every item that I had counted at this time only 15 items out of 2000 I had to recount these items for the next week because inventory was off I called shopkeep s customer service line a few times asking them what the issue could be I was told it was my labels first that because I didn t have specific dymo brand labels my scanner would have issues because of the way the barcodes were printed I told the customer service rep that they didn t work one day and then would work the next I was then told that the scanners I had were not supported nor could they be guaranteed compatible with shopkeep s interface and that they were unable to help me since I did not have a supported scanner This is when I started to get frustrated because there are a lot of Bluetooth scanners out there some much cheaper than socket and with more range than the socket brand but I decided to try and stay with a brand they support to have the best experience with shopkeep To prove my point I went out and got one of their recommended scanner models When I started shopkeep and was told that I would have no issues with my size warehouse or future size warehouse I decided to pay for the full year March 2016 March 2017 Of course there was a small discount because I paid it all in full Now I m being told that because I paid ahead of time that shopkeep will NOT be able to refund me or cancel my account until March of next year I feel this is unacceptable This system hasn t worked for me since day one constantly not scanning items out Today I took my own time to scan the items with the model that is supported by shopkeep that have been counted when I could have been doing something else with my time and 20 out of 63 items were not accounted for As a business owner myself I m appalled at how this company is taking care of this matter It s never been a fault on their end they always point the finger at me     My horrible experience Wtfughpita
While issues arise with all technology shopkeep s support staff have been fantastic while resolving them I would like to single out Allen in particular who has been a godsend for us in working diligently to resolve any and all issues no matter how big or small Allen knows what he is doing and listens to customers needs while working towards suitable resolutions A                     It works just work with them Skippparroo
I used this system for a year and was very happy I traded my iPad air for a iPad pro since I thought it would be nice to have the larger screen I got it loaded up just to find out that shopkeep will not work with the iPad pros BE WARNED Now I had to go and re purchase a air so I could continue to use the program This is not the best iPad register this is the best iPad air register All my free apps work great on my pro For a paid app I would expect them to get it together but they keep saying there are no plans to optimize for the pro Thanks Shopkeep     Very Disappointed RckyMtnMan
Purchased the system less than 2 weeks ago The system is confusing and very basic and it would take a few weeks to get it set up Unfortunately the sale of the store we were purchasing felt through and we are no longer acquiring the store Asked for a refund and was told they are not able to refund the 1 year fee I prepaid even though it s been less than two weeks     Disappointed Xis1111
Horrendous company An undisclosed glitch in their system misreported over 5500 in sales during peak hours on a Saturday directly costing our small business money due to employee and vendor payouts based on the sales they reported Customer service as well as two levels of management have essentially told us better luck next time I can t wait for our subscription to be up so we can switch to a reputable company Absolutely shameful     DO NOT USE LAS2016
If you go with Shopkeep I strongly recommend that you DO NOT use their credit card processing It stops working for no reason and they have had several systemwide outages Usually on Saturday afternoon our busiest time Go with Heartland or some other reputable credit card processing company I also found their people especially their sales people to be arrogant and unhelpful They made every transaction I ve had with them since signing up difficult and unpleasant     POS ok Credit card processing and people are terrible Hannahbear

Let s start by stating that I ve had this point of sale for over two years It s good and it s bad but as far as points of sale work it s bad and the customer service is poor The good It works sometimes It s fairly easy to use The bad It s buggy Hardware they sell you is crap No built in rewards program they want you to pay a third party for something easily integrated into their system They charge you for gift cards That s right you have to pay monthly for the ability to use gift cards Wrap your head around that one Credit card swiper is garbage that requires me swiping the card 10 times to maybe get it to work App freezes and locks up Network connectivity issues with payment processors as well as shopkeeper and it s not the iPad because it works fine for Internet web searches when shopkeep is not working They sent only part of the system when I ordered it had to purchase parts I already paid for again from a local store just to get business opened on time This year shopkeep credit card processing went down for over six hours during my normal business hours It cost us untold amounts of money in revenue for the day due to not being able to take cards After the service that I pay for goes down for the entire day causing major lost revenue and disgruntled customers shopkeep refuses to compensate it s businesses The service rep literally told me on the phone that it wasn t their fault we contract the gateway Well guess what it is your fault because you pay the gateway and I pay you It s a poor move by shopkeep to not take care of its customers especially in this situation Don t waste your time look else where I m tied to these guys thru my pos and my rewards program now That s all changing switching when my new equipment gets here next week     Look at other point of sales Primosauce

Hello The application works quite well but specifically this review is in regards to a customer service representative by the name of Martin Martin helped my company and myself out getting approximately 500 products entered and priced using an excel CSV dump in a very short timeframe leading up to a trade show He was incredibly helpful and polite I had meant to leave this back in February after the show but continually forgot to do so Hopefully he still works there and will be able to see this review at some point                     Customer service review Sgerlinger

ShopKeep is probably one of the best iPad POS Systems Ive tried and trust me Ive tried a lot It has all of the essential features that are greatly needed for businesses such as customer tracking inventory tracking MailChimp integration and the best one yet APPLEPAY INTEGRATION ShopKeep has pushed us to the top and let us sit with the big dogs now that it allows us to accept ApplePay I have been using it for a few months now and its been nothing but great                 Wonderful
Just installed the new update mobile app It is very poorly thought out Many of the critical functionality or the steak of previous app is lost to marginally useful new features or sizzle I have multiple stores and could previously at a glance see salsa for all stores at any time and a summary for all stores at the end of the day Both these features are lost in favor of more backoffice features like what is the best selling item right now What were you guys thinking     The new app is virtually unusable for multiple stores
I have been using ShopKeep for over a year and the app has gotten steadily worse with every version I work in a very fast paced coffee shop and there is a persistent lag between screen contact and the app responding I know the iPad supports multiple points of contact at one time and this app cant even keep up with one I want to play this thing like a piano and instead Im like ET pecking at a speak spell The phone app was also recently destroyed Now it takes forever to update if it does at all You can no longer see all registers on the opening screen which blows and the information it does display is largely irrelevant on the go These are just the latest complaints that brought me to this review Its been in decline for some time and while I hope they can get it running smoothly again Ill be on the hunt for a new POS thats less of a POS        Worse with every update

We run a general merchandise store with items ranging from 5 to 5000 We carry about 1500 SKUs at a time but its a seasonal business so were always swapping in new items Have been using ShopKeep for 4 months now and LOVE it As other reviews have said there are some definite strengths and weaknesses But we switched from another more high end system and Ive found the tradeoffs to be well worth the ease of use and cool factor of having an iPad instead of a cash register Gift cards returns and barcode scanning could use improvement But for 99 of transactions the system is awesome easy fast and simple Plus the BackOffice functionality allows me to keep up with business in real time even when out of the store And the new reportsanalysis tools are great We have had no problems with hardware compatibility importing 1000s of SKUs or credit card processing I spent months researching different systems and found the balance of ease cost and capability to make ShopKeep the perfect solution for our situation                 Do Your Research
The new app has a great issue in the tips screen The no tip button is highlighted green and big The percentage tips buttons are smaller and gray Its like the app designer want to lead the customer to click the no tip Custom tip is using 2 decimal spacesclients just click the 1 number thinking that pay 1 dollar tip but actually pay 1 cent App designer needs to work in a store with previous shopkeep Pls dont destroy a great feature from your previous app for just a better color layout     Problem
Let me start off by saying I have never written a review on a product I have a chain of pizzerias while looking for new POS stations for my newest store I stumbled upon shop keep the customer service was above reproach my sales rep Britney was nothing short of amazing answering all my questions concerns and pricing I was extremely happy with the shipping time the hardware set up was a breeze I know I could be a very difficult customer and for a product and service to actually please me is very hard The hardware is great the app works beautifully being able to update my menu no matter where in the world I am is a huge plus Britney was above reproach the customer service being 24 hours is another big plus overall 45                 Great product
MISSING A KEY POS FUNCTION This system does not allow for the basic function of exchanging an item in a return process If a customer wants to do an exchange you must return the item in one transaction and ring up the exchange item in a 2nd transaction Hugely inefficient and embarrassing to ask the customer if they mind doing 2 transactions to facilitate an exchange Ive been using this system for 6 months In all the updates it has still not been addressed I give it 2 stars because of the lack of this basic functionality of a POS I will need to shop for a different POS system to handle my retail business        Owner

I researched every POS system out therebeing a newer small business I couldnt afford to shell out thousands of dollars Im so glad I didnt I own a retail store with a large variety of unique products and this POS system is wonderful The set up is easy the support is amazing and the functionality is perfect for what I need I read some of the other reviews before I purchased and took them into account however have not had any of their issues Use their free 14 day trial and you will find out right away if it works for you You can practice every type of transaction before you buy I am a brick and mortar store so I cannot comment to the experience of other types of businesses My hardware works great looks great and so far so good I also easily integrated my current credit card processor Needless to say I could not be happier especially for the price Got in on a great promo had my IPad honestly am really excited to be in the 21st century of POS systems Thanks Shopkeep                 Do your researchfor my business it was the perfect fit
Shopkeep POS has no regard for their customer We found a HUGE issue with the sales tax recording in Shopkeep SImply put it does not use the correct tax table and this collects less tax than it is supposed to When we brought this up to Shopkeep we were met with a deer in headlights sort of blank state over the phone It has been months now and the best they can do is say they might fix it soon in the mean time here is a ridiculously long spreadsheet process you can do to get the numbers the system should have recorded to begin with Oh and by the way we collected less tax than we were supposed to so you gotta pay it out of your revenue They truly do not care as they are not on the line to uncle sam for any fines or jail time if the reports and taxes are wrong     Has potential

Ive been using this for my restaurant business for a little over 6 months A few issues to note This latest version has some credit card processing drawer opening and printing issues intermittently Also there NEEDS to be an option for open tabsdelivery orders Other than that Ive been satisfied              Good but
You may tender using cash credit through shopkeep and associates or other We use square and need to use OTHER tender We cant even create a custom tender option called Square sad We also accept ebt and need to use the OTHER tender for those transactions as well U can imagine the confusion at the end of the day We also have to run 2 separate transactions for customers who are using ebt and cash since there is no way for the system to tell if an item is ebt allowed or not     If u accept ebtsnap this is NOT for you

I operate a mens clothing boutique and love the look and feel of ShopKeep The one thing that absolutely frustrates me is not being able to track inventory by modifiers I have thousands of products to trackhow do you expect me to know how many Diesel Jeans size 30x30 I have and whether or not I need to order more The only thing I get from the reorder report is that my Diesel Jeans has hit the reorder trigger It doesnt tell me that size 30x30 hit the reorder trigger It looks as though I have to pull the reorder report and then go to the sales floor to find out what Im out of This isnt helpful at all It just seems to me that ShopKeep is catering to restaurants and coffee shops with its modifiers options Its just a slap on the face to us physical goods retailersespecially considering that you can track raw goods Shopify handles their inventory much much better Im between a rock and a hard place Shopify has the inventory tracking I need and ShopKeep has everything else What to do        Its okay

Hello The application works quite well but specifically this review is in regards to a customer service representative by the name of Martin Martin helped my company and myself out getting approximately 500 products entered and priced using an excel CSV dump in a very short timeframe leading up to a trade show He was incredibly helpful and polite I had meant to leave this back in February after the show but continually forgot to do so Hopefully he still works there and will be able to see this review at some point                 Customer service review
Shopkeep is an impressive system easy to understand and train others on Have only had to speak to customer service a couple of times but VERY responsive Listen to feedback to make it work even better Have referred others to shopkeep and all agree                 Business owner
I signed up for a 30 day trial but after one week of use Im thinking of trying a different one Maybe after a few tweaks and updatesthis may be one of the best POS systems out there if they market it correctly        Its eh
I have been dealing with shopkeep customer care more than I like to admit But I had the ultimate pleasure of speaking with Rob D today to help me configure the prep kitchen printer Not only did he have the patience of a saint but went above and beyond the customer care realm Rob D you were fantastic and I cant thank you enough                 Rob D is the man
Weve been using ShopKeep for just over a year now While its had its moments where weve wanted to go back to pencil and paper its been great overall The new features in the current version are awesome and our employees really like it It still has a few bugs but not sure I can attribute those so much to ShopKeep as to the way the iPad works The biggest one being the card swiper disconnects itself whenever the iPad sleeps Sometimes it will reconnect and sometimes it takes removing and reattaching to get it to work                 Works for us and getting ever better
Great App unfortunately cant use the Square CC with this so I must use the Square This is a great app though wished we could use it              Solid App
I operate a Specialty Retal Cart in a prominent area mall and just upgraded my POS from a standard cash register to ShopKeep Without a doubt ShopKeep has greatly increased my capabilities in managing my small enterprise Inventory management reporting ease of use for my cashiers and remote visibility are all pluses I would like a few enhancement however These include more reporting greater flexibility with respect to product modifiers context sensitive Help a more robust user interface the ability of the cashier role to update open and close shifts and an idle time logout Lastly the hardware solutions are far too expensive and subsequently eliminate any advantage in pricing that ShopKeep might otherwise distinguish itself Overall Im pleased Its not perfect by any stretch and Im sure larger more experienced operations might find ShopKeep a little light But for my 1 register 4 employee 200 product store it is proving to be an asset              So far So good
The best is that we rarely need support because everything works On the few occasions when we have needed help the response and resolution have been excellent Most recent problem was on our end but it didnt matter we were very patiently walked through all the steps and tests to pinpoint where the connection was broken No dumb user feeling at all and I really appreciate that Great product Great service                 Volunteer
This app would be great if it wasnt for the constant issues The updates help momentarily until another issue arises Updates take too long to download We need our app to work fast and efficiently in order to provide great service to our customers        Too many issues

Were a boutique wine store with craft beer and spirits Using ShopKeep as a liquor store you have to figure out how to put a square peg in a round hole Theres no option to set up suppliers other than the the name no address phone number or vendor account number Theres ordering option that gives you a spreadsheet or txt file but no way of creating a purchase order or any place to input an invoice number I guess you sync with QB and have to hand enter all of that information after you sync Theres no option for bottle deposits other than a modifier that you have to tap with every beer or soda sold No way to put items in by the case only by the unit This is the internet shouldnt we be able to send a PO directly from the back officeThese are just some of the issues related to liquor stores A retailer shouldnt have to reconfigure their business model to fit into a software If I had a coffee shop yea this would work fine When will someone create an app cloud based POS system for liquor stores     For Very Small Business
The system is great WHEN IT WORKS it seems for some reason the tech services has nothing to help with this except to say your hardware needs changing the iPad is only 2 years old and is a dedicated iPad to the register only does not do anything else or put you on hold and never return if you need to delete and download the App all over again every day almost then something is wrong and not with the hardware yesterday after a year almost of this issue we were finally told that this is an issue with many customers and they have been working on it for a while and still are that is not the way a company with ShopKeep responsibility should be working        Manager
