Separate Checks with QuickSplit - The Best Check Splitter / Tip Calculator...Period

The app does what it says it will quite well The UI is very simple and intuitive Future options should include an option where you split an item with someone                 Quick getaway at dinner

All the other tip calcs simply add the tip and divide the total by the number of diners I can do that simple math with the builtin calculator Plus how is it fair for the guy who ordered a burger and soda to pay the same as the guy who ordered lobster and 3 beers Separate Checks is brilliant Finally an app that can figure out a check accurately and quickly The apps user interface is slick and pretty making what could be a tedious chore much more bearable Sure the larger checks might take a bit to figure out but its usually those larger checks where you or someone else winds up overpaying This is a great app asis and any improvements from this point will be gravy                 Much better than any of the tip calculators out there

Just used this last night and made the bill splitting amongst a large group of people that much more faster and fairer Spending 99 cents on this app probably saved me at least 10 dollars last night In future updates it would be nice to edit and save names of people who you might eat out with often                 Highly useful app

This is simple and easy to use Makes splitting up the bill a much less painful My friends and I usually split the bill equally but on occasion we do need to separate out some items For example if one person had 5 drinks and 4 courses and someone else only had a salad                 Perfect

Actually this is a pretty good check splitting app and there are many There are a few shortcomings that have already been suggested and sounds like they may be addressed in the next version Good job to the developer this may be the best one yet              Better than most

Just what Ive been looking for in an app that the other tip calculators dont offer I got it today tried it at lunch with coworker and now I am so much happier that Im not the one anymore that is always putting out extra just to make sure the server gets a decent tip Yay It is a little cumbersome and not very cool looking but it does the job which is more than any other app can do Also this is TightApps most useful app The others are the type that you use once and forget about              Finally

This app is very useful for those who like to be specific clear and fair at the moment of dividing the check at the restaurant bar or any place where the total cost needs to be paid by more than one individual I would like for this app to allow typing in and saving information such as names of regular individuals who share the costs label items appetizer entreé dessert drinks etc or name them if the check is not from a restaurant or bar grocery store video rental etc These ideas might be considered for future updates              Practical

This version is much better Easier to understand and is very functional This is a great app for the times when you are dining with a group and its not always an easy or equal split This app has all areas in ways of splits taxes tips covered              NA

Most tip calculatorscheck splitters oversimplify reality and make the same Pollyanna assumption all dinners on a meal tab are a purchasing meals and drinks that are similarly priced or b dont care if one dinner subsidizes the overindulgence of another If you are finically well off enough not mind that your dinning buddies are taking advantage of you and your only concern is that you have given your wait staff the proper tip then there is no need to bother with a more intelligent app like Separate Checks For the rest of us read on Sure Separate Checks can do the straightforward tip calculation before or after tax and check splitting of its less capably rivals using the Quick Split option so if that is all you want no need to look elsewhere but it can do much more It is quite possible to split even the most complicated checks exactly even dividing single items shared by several dinners Some reviewers have found this overly tedious but the option to do this is yours When dinning with large groups I frequently use this option just to calculate the exact tab for my wife and me to insure that I contribute the proper amount to the pot If another dinner doubts that I have done so I can quickly demonstrate that I have This has proved to be a great strategy But perhaps the most useful and innovative feature of Separate Checks is its ability to quickly modify the Quick Split to achieve a more equitable split without getting too far into the weeds Say each dinner has ordered meals that are roughly equivalent in price and you would like to just split the check evenly But wait you are on a budget and just ordered water while one of you friends ordered two beers Normally that would negate the concept of splitting the check equally unless you wanted to subsidize your friends drinking habit but Quick Split has a feature which allows you to easily add the price of the beers to one tab while automatically subtracting it from the others Conversely if everyone ordered a beer but you you could deduct the amount from your tab This works very well Bottom line dividing a check when you are out with friends should not be an onerous task You want to insure that your wait staff receives a fair tip and that each dinner contributes their proper share Separate Checks handles that better than another similar app I have used                 Best of breed

I love this thing I emailed support with a suggestion to improve the app and I got a friendly timely response Im not sure why a few people find this app confusing It does the job and its not that hard to figure out The only thing I would do differently is add people I found out I had to add all the people when I entered my first check item I would change it so people can be added at any point OR have an order Add people add items split check Its still a great app and Im looking forward to future updates              LOVE this app

This is far and away the best check splitting app out there The simple way that you enter totals and assign items to the people in your party is a no brainer It has saved many an argument during department lunches                 Fantastic App

This is a simple but very useful app It does what it says it does very well Still there are a few nuisances that need to be fixed before it can become the best and only app you will need for tip calculations and check splitting Should be able to edit and delete items once created Right now once you create an item it is final you cant modify or delete it Allow storing peoples names so you can select them instead of typing them each time Allow selecting peoples names from contact list to avoid typing them Allow decreasing quantities for a person when creating items              Has potential to be the best

Liked that it can apportion the check fairly but I do wish one could take off coupons Maybe it can but I couldnt find it              Liked it but

Ive been using Separate Checks since May 2010 when it was still a paid app It was totally worth the money and has been fantastic If you dine with groups that order a variety of food and drink this app will do the work in calculating totals and tips After entering all the pertinent information from a restaurant bill there is a summary page that shows everyones totals Sometimes you have that one friend who says they are putting in X when they really should be putting in XY This creates accountability Honestly Im a bit surprised the app is currently free Hopefully the developers are making money somehow so they can continue future development on this and other projects                 The Most Complete Check Splitting App Available

Definitely exactly what is needed to properly separate a check accordingly to what each person ate If two people shared a dish it will automatically divide the cost up between the two people Much better than those typical tip calculators              Great and innovative

This app used to be amazing Now it just doesnt work People are referred to as tabs and you cant edit names properly anymore you cant save groups you cant edit items names Every input field is broken and doesnt work Its just garbage now Dont update and save you some trouble Developer PLEASE bring the old version back Your app used to be great Its just too complicated and tiresome to use now This was such a massive downgrade     Horrible

I really like this app My suggestion is to play with it a little before you need to use it so you understand how to work it Its not hard to figure out in my opinion and really easy to use once you figure it out You can divide the bill equally like other programs of this type or you can tell the program to figure out what each person owes when they pay for what they ordered                 Great app

Great app Does exactly what it says it will Saves me tons of time and money at check time On top of that the customer service is absolutely spectacular I sent in a complaint and got a response in less than 24 hours and a fix was released very quickly after that Definitely a musthave app                 Amazing

Things Id like to see in future versions 1 When entering the cost of each item use the number keyboard versus the alphanumeric one that is currently being used 2 Update the graphics Not completely necessary but would add a lot of polish to the app Otherwise I think this is a great start              Good Start

This is the best detailed check splitter in the APP store If you want elegant control of paying a check when diners are very money conscious and some have champagne tastes and huge appetites This APP will maintain friendship between a gourmand and an anorexic Developer Thanks for continuing APP updates after such a long interim and fixing that dealbusting text entry bug Now naming items and tabs is effortless and is the reason this APP is the best Although some may find Separate Checks overly complicated the APP does simplify detailed check splitting as much as possible Please keep up the good work                 Look No Further

Let me just say that I have a lot of friends incapable of fairly splitting a check Even when we separate the check on paper it rarely comes out right and I always get stuck with paying the difference This app keeps that from happening I used it at lunch today and was impressed by how simple and how helpful it was Everyone paid their proper amount and the total came out correct for the first time ever I can only imagine how much money this app would have saved me if I had it over the last few years Thanks for a great app that will pay for itself many times over                 Awesome app

I like this tip calculator but wished it had a way of calculating tax by And if you could input amount each person paid and what is owed back             

The new version is MUCH better than the previous version It has many new features on top of the same basic approach as before I had sent them suggestions regarding deficiencies in the previous version and all of those suggestions are included plus more I now cannot think of anything more I would want so I will return to using it regularly I highly recommend it                 Version 20 is perfect

I bought Separate Checks because it is the first check splitting app I have found in the iTunes store that fully separates what people in a group owe according to what they actually ate or drank In my original review of this app I made some suggestions that the developer has now integrated into the app with the last update So now I am happy to say this app is better than ever and I do not know why anyone would pay for a simple tip calculator when they can pay the same price for Separate Checks and get both a tip calculator and check slitter in one awesome app It kind of bugs me that everybody who gave this app a 1 or 2 star rating didnt even bother to write anything as to why they do not like this app As you can see all the people who did take the time to write something gave this app 4 stars                 Excellent and Useful App has only gotten better with update

In my many years of searching for a quick and easy tip and tax calculator I finally obtained the holy grail with this one I know very few people who want to get roped into splitting a check evenly I know even fewer who want to take the responsibility for dividing up that restaurant check fairly Separate Checks handles both these issues easily and gracefully This is a five star app despite its lack of an iOS 7 interface This one goes on my home screen                 The Best Of Them All

Worked perfectly everything you try to work out in your head when splitting the check I have two suggestions 1 be able to change from accurate and round after its been created 2 choose names from contacts type still                 Pays for its self by not over paying your half

I was using it for the first time and liking it and 2 times it shut off right in the middle I deleted the app because I dont have the patience for that     Shuts off

Entering info for an exact check is beyond tedious Tried it one night with a group of 7 We finally gave up Estimate and exact should be combined Check items should be savable for later use And like grocery Iq we should be able to save restaurants with menu items to save time on the next visit For 99 its fine Looks good but it could offer more and be worth more           Room for improvement

This app is acutally not bad it would be nice if you were able to calculate the taxes based on the rate for your state I know that I can add the food tax total once I actually get my ticket from the waitress but I would love the abilbity to break everyones ticket down before the waitress gets back to the table and to do this I have to go to another app for caluculator to determine what the tax is on the items purchased then come back to this app and add food tax to the totals Other than that its not a bad app           Need to be able to adjust rate of tax for state

Excelent App Just add the contacts integration and savingediting features and its a killer five star app              Very Good but somethings are missing

Works great to settle the bill when it comes BUT why cant I save items for times when you revisit same places Just like you save groups If that was there I would give it 5 STARS           Great App BUT BIG BUT
