The Rx-Writer is now available as a free download on Apple Store for iPad owners. The application is supporting English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. The new Rx-Writer app version 1.3.6 has been updated on 2014-11-19. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. I have updated my rating to 4 stars because the developer has been very responsive with phone support and set me up with their latest beta testing version That solved the constant crashing problems They have said the latest beta version will soon go live as the next Apple Store version Overall this is now a pretty good solution for a solo practitioner like me I wanted a simple yet effective e prescribing solution without the hassle and complication of EHR integrated alternatives that are complex and difficult read time consuming RX Writer now seems to fit the bill I withheld 1 star because I d like to see easier more frequent updates to the pharmacy database a way to record the pharmacy each RX was faxed to preferably on the print out of each RX and more frequent updates to the drug database                 Pretty Good App ProfessorShrink, MD

For some time I have battled with being dumped from the app effectively making it impossible to use the app This program is convenient when it works otherwise It does lack some significant aspects however 1 no way to notate allergies 2 The Rx copy sent to the office does not indicate which pharmacy should have received the Rx 3 Many times the fax doesn t go through and the email notification doesn t tell you which fax failed All in all a frustrating app with potential but no support     No support Drstringqis

Somewhat useful app But please be very careful to confirm transmissions I have had several incidents in which patient data was transposed and transmitted to another patient and pharmacy These events are rare and unpredictable there are no similarities between patients or their pharmacies Even the confirmations copies appeared correct without record of the wrong transmission IT support seemed helpful at first but then disappeared I hate to write a mostly negative review but you colleagues need to know about this important problem         Worrisome Fsfrriwfkermd

We find this app useful every day and our scrips are legible They do not have a way to allow multiple providers to access same patient database In my clinic this would be highly helpful Also an interface with my EHR SoapWare would be very helpful and time saving Thy Re quick to respond to bug reports and very helpful over the phone I recommend this app highly                 Useful app Bltzpflk

For the sake if MDs who travel a lot still need to attend to their patients this app is a God send As long as this app is ultra secure unhackable this is a great app iPhone apps also have an app that allows regular people to scan real signatures place them on legitimate legal docs I wish hope that this current app has done a thorough risk assessment to limit the exchange of illegal prescription I ve witnessed many people take advantage of how easy it is to forge prescriptions With signatures easy to forge any documents easy too gain access to I am praying that Apple has exlllcontingency plans areready     Yea A new way for criminals drug dealers addicts @Lapis808

On somewhat frequent occasion I find myself out of the office when a patient have an emergency and have the need to prescribe an MRI CT Scan NCV or other study or some other course of care The program doesn t give you the ability to write a procedural prescription such as these It would be nice to add this flexibility to the program But otherwise it s a very good program for Rx ing meds                     Excellent for meds but what about prescribing procedures tests Miamibeachdoc

I use this app on a routine basis It is easy to use and efficient My only complaint is that although the account seems to be maintained on line the information does not sync between devices which means I often have to re enter patient information if I happen to be using my mini rather than my full size iPad If this got fixed it d be a 5 star                 Very useful brucech

I have been using Rx writer for over a year My subspeciality practice is not high volume and I chose to use the free version past the trial period since I can easily keep to below the 200 patients required to maintain the free version The Rx database is comprehensive and intuitive More over what is not available can be free texted easily The prescription can be viewed before sending to the pharmacy and most importantly can be saved as a PDF in my patient folder on a secure shared drive This enables my staff to retrieve prescriptions and resend to pharmacy in my absence The support provided by this small company has been exemplary I get email responses within a short time Recently the company s chief officers both took the time to trouble shoot a database transfer to my new iphone This involved them teleconferencing and networking into my desktop to retrieve my old data and installing it into itunes I cannot thank them enough for recovering my patient database that I had given up as lost for ever I have never had this kinda support from other app developers I would strongly recommend this product over others that are available in the app market                     Outstanding product and customer service sgrangan

I have been using Rx Writer since the fall of 2010 This prescription app is top notch I use it all day long in my office Less time for refilling patients scripts more time for patients Also if I am at home on a weekend I have all my patient s prescription data at hand It is easy to use Refilling scripts are just a tap way It helps take better care of my patients No errors from poor handwriting I highly recommend this app for physicians                     Fantastic Cyber2-71

This is a novel application for a iPad enthusiast but I question it s practicality In it s current form by the time you login enter a patient and their pharmacy info it s still faster to write the prescription by hand and it also costs per play to use the program for an otherwise free process Once the patient and pharmacy info is entered the second time around it would be much faster The pharmacies will appreciate receiving a legible prescriptions In a future release I would like to see a way to import a patient list and to be able to choos pharmacies from an online list                 A novel app but needs better automation jwddsinc

I found this program to be far too confining with no real applicability to an ophthalmology practice With regard to dispensing number one needs the flexibility to use terms like 5cc 10cc or one small bottle one large bottle or three month supply To only allow the prescriber to type a number count just doesn t work for me I also feel that one should be able to build a list of commonly used medications with the sig prompted for that drug as in scrub lashes with ungt HS prn irritation that sort of thing     Too Limiting W. Maybe it is there and I missed it but I need a way to list multiple directions on the same drug For example sig take 1 tab qd for week then take 2 tabs qd after 1 week Also a way is needed to put several prescriptions on one page gotta save those trees Should be a way to import pharmacies Better directions on importing patients actually ANY directions on importing patients would be nice IBPHD             Needed Ibphd

In primary care I can write between 50 and 70 scripts on an average day On a good day I can write enough scripts that my hand cramps This app looks to save me time money and a little pain Because as we all know we see more patients in less time per patient and the time with the patient is what s important Hand writing up to a dozen scripts for any one patient takes away from that time And being able to FAX and email clear legible complete scripts directly to the pharmacy undoubtably will save countless phone calls This app is comprehensive intuitive and simple                     TREMEDOUS hflax1

I have looked at a lot of e prescribing solutions and this one looks like it might just hit the mark I downloaded it yesterday and have been testing it and I can t believe I can fax an Rx right from my iPad I wrote an Rx for my wife and faxed it to our local Pharmacy when I went in to pick it up no problems I haven t tried it in my practice yet but it s fast easy and works like you d expect So far I am very pleased                     Great Time Saver Jamie Beedy

What a fabulously innovative app I can only imagine how much time and how many trees will be saved by writing prescriptions electronically through this app Rx Writer also increases accuracy especially for physicians who have a very large client base It is so much more functional to have all of your patients info at the tip of your fingers and be able to write prescriptions without needing to worry about drug interactions correct dosage or which pharmacy to use It is all kept on record for you The writers of this app really hit the nail on the head with this one Works like a charm from the trials I ve done My guess is that the pharmacies will also appreciate the legible writing D L this app ASAP                     Amazing Speechie18
