Now that Ive upgraded to the full version of this app I can add images to documents It is so much more useful for documenting and producing teaching materials Terrific Update I am completely sold on this app The paid upgrade is worth the money and more I have a dozen or more documents chock full of pictures One suggestion make pictures smoother to work with They are a bit nervous and dont scale smoothly I also wish they could be scaled to a full page Love the app Update 1114 pictures seem smoother now I wish that all the documents would ALWAYS have a picture from the document showing on the cover Now it is only a generic image Update 515 app is still very good but inserting pictures still needs more work Lots of jumping around It takes a lot of practice to get photos placed where you want them and the size you want them However Ive produced 20 or 25 documents containing pictures with this app and I dont know of another app that does the job as well                 Now its even better
Good for editing documents in Dropbox              Texius is a good App
I wrote my very first novel on this application A bestseller might I add It really has potential and is a genius idea                 Perfection
This app is a waste of money Unless all I will do is create docs in this app Im fine No way can I take docs to and from a PC thru a cloud service because I get nothing but errors When I find a work around I loose all my formatting This is garbage Pass this by        Dont waste your money
I have to agree with the majority on this I have had no complaints for over two years now so yes 5 stars                 A good one
Ive used this app for over a year It is a solid rtf editor with good dropbox integration and the best onscreen keyboard Ive used That alone is worth the price but this app has also replaced my other pdf annotation apps The inknotes option is another plus but I have not used it much                 Great word processor
In my opinion the program isnt nearly s good as Microsoft Word My biggest complaint is that you cant import files from the free version        BM
Now I have two texilus apps but nine of my documents are on them they are now in a cloud and I have to dig them out one at a timethis was a great app but now full of bugswish I had never become tangled in this app     Wish I had stuck with pages
I purchased a bunch of other writing apps before this and they all had limited features or were tedious to use and didnt export docs smoothly this converts to a ton of different doc types This is the app to get I use it all the time for my writing onthego and its seriously the best out there My favorite part is that they listen to feedback and are CONSTANTLY updating I asked for a text search function and it was in the next update Their updates which are stable too often include keep new useful features without having to buy inapp This is the app to get                 The only writing app I use
Great word processor for the iPad                 Love it
This is my favorite app for word processing Transferring documents tofrom it is a snap I like the multiple folders and the ability to change the covers The controller menus are very easy to use and it is a plus that you can easily select between them I recommend this app very highly                 Easily the easiest and best Ive used
This app does what it says it will do and more I use it often                 Good App
Still only in review phase ie nothing new But it is worth it for me for the audio alone Very little explanation so it would be nice if they included links for a deeper explanation of eg le vs du But I just google it for depth understanding In a word I think it is a great practice app              Audio
Not letting me download written files to the app It keeps saying cant open           Update
Great app for writing without distraction Its the ultimate setup for serious writing I connect my Ipad to a good keyboard a real IBMstyle Model M keyboard with clicking keys from PCkeyboard made in America with real buckling springs under each key Clicks not mush You can connect a USB keyboard to the Ipad with Apples camera adapter though theyd rather you didnt know this The app lets you organize your writing projects into folders and the interface is clean and easy to use My only criticism Its hard to highlight text and change formatting after its been typed Also Please add a scroll lock feature Ie add a button to lock the vertical position of the cursor so the text flows upward as you write and you dont have to move the perspective upward every time your writing reaches the bottom of the screen              Solid uncluttered word processor
I really like Textilus As a basic text editor its very good What sets it apart from the rest is its quite incredible feature set and its solid integration with Dropbox Its easily worth the price This is my goto word processor when Im away from home I wont say its indispensible but its close Writing is easy and intuitive once you get used to where things are The Help document really does help Writing editing copypaste spell checking some basic formatting are all big pluses And they work as advertised I dont use the shortcuts often but when I do Im glad they are available I have access to all my Dropbox documents I use Scrivener and the integration is outstanding The ability to save a QuickLink and go directly to a location is invaluable especially if Im working on different projects in the same day Three quibbles prevent this app from getting five stars I have to reopen a folder each time I close a document Id really like to keep that folder open until I want to close it While I can load my own fonts this is a plus for getting an early idea of how a document will look Textilus regularly refuses to recognize those new fonts yet it reminds me that Ive already downloaded them The only recourse is to delete the app and reload it Ive used the Feedback button several times but only once did I get a reply and it was terse If youre going to offer support at least have the courtesy to respond to a comment or bug report I find Textilus worth its price and worth the time to learn it              An Excellent Writing Tool with Minor Quirks
Very strange that an already paid app wants even more to upgradewhen you figure the costit is more than the powerful word processor Pages Most apps give the upgrade to previous customers and not add on another charge     Pay to Upgrade to Pro
Have been using this app to create my literary master piece Very intuitive and has a lot of power Good job to the programming team                 Nice App
I love this app I have tried several other writing apps but this one is my favorite Its easy to use and has tons of great options for formatting styles Best of all its easy to export to Dropbox                 Very nice writing app
The read aloud things voice sounds like a robot other than that really good app                 Read aloud thing too robot sounding
This app has a wide assortment of options including a vast selection of bullets and font styles Graphics load with ease and more importantly pictures are easily resized and repositioned within a PDF Complex document formatting is possible with Textilus which is just amazing for an iPad app So far l love this app I was able to go back into the text to make changes rather than constructing documents in a rigid sequential manner Textilus is a flexible app                 Full featured is an understatement
Pretty much does everything you need for creating and managing small notes or big documents Workflow is straightforward and efficient                 I love this app
The only reason I bought this app was because the description says it works with Open Office files I opened the app after purchasedownloading connected to DropBox and it doesnt even show my OO files in the list just txt files Ripoff     Doesnt open Open Office Writer files
Of all the writing apps Ive tried this one is the best for the following reasons 1 Nearly seamless integration with my editors MS Word PC edition so she and I can send material back and forth and make changes or additions on either end 2 Easy to use 3 Full featured                 Best One Yet
Textilus is a great app Easy to use and it keeps getting tweaked improved Being new to the iPadApple world Ive found this app easy to learn and navigate through                 Good App
I was looking for the cleanest and simplest app I could find for purposes of writing a book Other apps like Ulysses either force you to write in markdown which is a real pain or are very cluttered and hard to adjust screentext color PagesWordOpenOffice If all you want to do is write simply and without distraction this is the app for you But it is missing two key features IMO 1 You cannot write in true fullscreen mode it forces both a top and bottom toolbar neither of which needs to be there when writing They are far less obtrusive than WordPagesOpen Office but you should be able to hide them and cannot 2 There is no typewriter scrolling option meaning you cant keep the cursor fixed in the middle of the screen or anywhere else for that matter as you type This is less important to me than 1 but I think it would be a great feature to ad Lets hope this app survives where other simple plain text writers like Writings have not              almost perfect 2 features missing
The closest app to word processing So glad I found this Not perfect but very good and I look forward to seeing what the Textilus folks think of for upgrades                 Makes my iPad more useful
For a change something is simple doesnt try to sell itself does what it says and helps                 Thanks
by Theophilus Its always getting better The open in function could be served with more easy working Keep the good work              Real good getting better
Please do NOT buy this if you think youre getting Scrivener document support There is NO WAY youd want to use this to edit something meaningful youd done in Scrivener     Scrivener Support Um NO NO NO
It works flawlessly with very many features Im a writer and its almost everything I need and want in a word processor Thank you Textilus for making my job easier                 Great Word Processor
Ive been using Textilus for something over a month noweverything from quick notes editing extended texts and planning courses both outlines and biblios So far it has performed flawlessly for me and increasingly has become one of my most consistently turnedto apps for almost anything requiring text                 A great app
I like Textilus over all but there are some minor problems that keep me from giving it that last star It is a great basic word processor and therefore great for how I use it with my iPad I generally use it on my iPad mini so I can work on documents onthego when I dont want to carry my laptop I do most of my writing using Scrivener on my 13 Macbook air although I also use Word mostly to format documents Ive done the writing of in Scrivener I chose Textilus because it also allows for markingup pdf files which makes the research part of my life easier at least in theory The good integration with Dropbox This makes it very easy to use onthego and keep my changes current in my document Easy to use Tidy appearance The neutral I would like it if the formatting options were easier to use I still cant figure out how to change paragraph formatting such as indenting a paragraph differently from those around it as you do for a block quote for example The bad when I use it to highlight and make notes on a pdf file it sometimes saves those noteshighlights on a different page when I reopen it later This is confusing and rather defeats the purpose of making notes in this way When editing rtf files from Scrivener it has for no apparent reason changed the paragraph formatting once for the final 1000 words of a document which were in several paragraphs were an inch further indented than they were supposed to be I couldnt figure out how to fix this in textilus It didnt take me long to fix when I opened it up on my laptop but it was inconvenient              Adequate some bugs
Attractive and a nice value I am grateful                 Works for me
I paid for Textilus the full version awhile back and there were promises of great future things advertised in that app But the developers got greedy I suppose and decided to put the new features into an Identical app and charge 1199 if you want the new improved features that were promised back then for those who are loyal I believe their pitch was buy now before the price goes up because of the new amazing features we are planning Well I bought then believing in them and Now THOSE features are Not Available to Me The Loyal Textilus Fan Theyve decided now to rename my full version to version 5 and the new features version 6 to avoid confusion because they are the same app to keep the better promised features separate to extort from their loyalest fans I guess I purchased the FULL VERSION not version 5 but that new name might make it easier in their minds to cheat people More proof is my full version is 599 you can only see it if you tap on related on another tetilus app It is not advertised as separate now but it is cause theyre trying to force people to pay for bundles An upgrade to get the features we were promised should be a six dollar difference but it isnt They are charging us 800 an extra two dollars to get the features that should be present in the Full version we all purchased I do not care for being cheated or lied to It is a good product so why extort those of us that tell everyone about Textilus your loyal long time users are the ones who suffer Stupid short sighted and wrong     Please Read They Cheat their loyal users
From my original review Testing this app more than a week replacing my old text app and very happy w it It is one of the few actually this is the only one I could find and located 9 and tried 6 that supports the native text format selector that the basic Apple Notes has no mandatory use of an awkward text format toolbar I especially wanted the Dropbox support file folder system and the bold underline format options IHIGHLYRECOMMEND tested iPad mini iPhone 4S w iOS 83 Feedback A good option would be allowing the List document view to be a user chosen default Note installed icon does not match App Store listing icon                 VERY good features runs smooth tried free first
Scrivener is a great word processing tool for the writer writing on the go Ive used it on trains in hotel rooms and even on planes So far Ive used it to write and edit drafts which I save to Dropbox To prospective users out there I havent seen much implementation regarding tables or pictures While this may be a wonderful app for fiction writers for business folk designing documents showing the recent increases in profits over the recent quarter or college students writing reports requiring illustrations this app may be quite clunky and at times pretty useless Yet if youre a writer looking for an iPad app to write your drafts on during those long trips across country this is the app for you                 Great for writing drafts and editing
I was extremely upset that my documents dont upload to iCloud so I lost them all when I had to reset my iPad I immediately started looking for a replacement word processing app but then I realized that none of them including Apples own Pages dont rate much higher than this So until something better comes along Ill stick with Textilus or go to my PC and use LibreOffice              Better than the rest
I like this very much While it lacks some features of Microsoft Word it is generally easy to use and flexible for many document criteriamargins vertical spacing font style font size regular or pdf format etc              I like it very much
I have been a fan of journaling for several years however I found that writing in a moleskine with a pen though nostalgic it may be is not very practical Oftentimes I would only write in my journal once of twice a month I decided to start keeping an electronic journal on ipad and I am so glad I chose Textilus to organize my entries It an absolutely fantastic app to have I can sync entries to Google Drive or Dropbox and the interface is so clean I have folders for writings journal entries and various documents that I need to read and mark up I highly recommend getting a blue tooth keyboard as it makes typing on Ipad so much faster and easier This app blows Word and Pages out of the water I love that you can add images from your files or the web to your entries Since downloading Textilus Ive been writing in my journal several times per week on average It is simply the best app Ive purchased I hate paying for things when there are free alternatives but this is simply the best and worth every dime                 Incredible App Great for Journaling
These guys are SHAMELESS I just recently bought Textilus Writer which is almost identical to PRO THE ONLY THING THEY DID NOW IS CHANGE THE LOGO and quit support of Textilus Writer and called it PRO So now if you want to stay current they want ANOTHER 10 This is simply ripoff mentality This appears to be their standard of operation How long now before they change PRO and call it something else and want another 10 Theyve done this before and is part of their business model I guess Im done with them Old review Questionable app Buyer Beware Package deal is just a bad deal Is this just plain wrong You be the judge VERY LITTLE difference in the apps except for PageMaster certainly not enough to be charging for a whole basically duplicate app One of the Textilus apps in the package deal is just the OLD version of the newer one As far as Im concerned this is intentionally deceptive Caveat emptor I guess its my fault for failing to do deep research before buying I thought Id be getting a nice complementary app not just an old one and new one And I had previously purchased Knowtes and it was in the package deal and I got charged again for it Ah well live and learn It only cost me an additional 10 to learn this lesson     Buyer Beware New Version Same Review
Havent noticed the stability issues some other users mention This app just seems to get better with latest versions I must admit I occasionally switch back and forth between this and Textkraft also offering a very nice writers toolbox Recently however I returned to Textilus and it feels right Only thing thats missing is an iPhone version that syncs              Featureladen app seems stable
Im very unhappy with my purchase I payed six dollars for absolute junk I used to love the free app then one day I tried to add more to my saved document for schoolwork and it would let me type but not let me see I was very upset I had to re type everything so I figured the paid app would work Come to find out it doesnt and works the exact same Very upset with this purchase I want my money back     Absoulety Horrendous
Probably the only thing Textilus doesnt do is make the coffee Take your iPad mini and do all your writing journaling and note taking with Textilus Leave your laptop at home                 Better than excellent
Where are all my previous documents I just paid the 99 cents upgrade but I am not still able to reach my precious documents Which by the way the app was free at the time Where are my old letters     Friend or foe
BIG PROBLEM App loses formatting from the toolbar bold italics colors underlines etc Instructions say to finish document then format but it doesnt matter when you format After you save and then go back into the doc the formatting is gone It saves some things only if you make the change in settings Why have to go through all that to just bold or italicize one word AND you cannot create levels of folders inside of the primary folder You have to create new folders for every topic subtopic etc AND I will not buy Textilus Writer just to get that feature if it even does it Why werent the few different features in Textilus Writer just added to this one Ridiculous AND Rip Off Looking for another app     PROBLEMATIC and NOT full featured
Simple full function logical and gets the job done for a multitude of docs formats                 My go to app out of 4 I have for docs
If you are looking for a word processor thats easy to use and navigate choose Textilus I also give a five star rating for its file and folder features                 choose this one
Its good for creating documents but is completely unreliable for icloud backup I had to repurchase the paid version to install on my Mini which I thought was odd Worse after enabling icloud only a few of my documents transferred over Most are tagged not in icloud Why some and not others I had to email every document to myself in order to get them into Textilus on my Mini same thing happened when I bought my iPad Air and wanted to get my documents from my iPad 2 on to my Air And finally support only responds to simple to answer questions They just ignore the complex issues or maybe they know about the problem and do not have the answer        Stinks for back ups and restores
Be aware that as a previous user noted when you upgrade you will lose all of your current Textilus documents I saved my critical ones in the Note app Other than that I havent used it yet           Loss of Documents
