Remoter: Remote Desktop (VNC)

Im comparing my results to the splashtop app Speed Whether its wifi LTE or wired its slow Theres seems to be no automatic network optimization or a manual way to get better speed Playing a video is choppy at best even on a fast connection Stability I find too often the app or my Mac screen freezing making me have to attempt to reconnect numerous times Mouse the mouse controls are mediocre at best isnt intuitive The price is the only positive For what you get when it works is worth the 8 but this comes with some frustrations as well        Ok but could be allot better

Forcing a buffered keyboard makes this app unusable for me Before this misfeature was added RemoterVNC was my main SSH app Ill revise my rating upward only if this disabling change is addressed     Buffered keyboard breaks things

I control a dozen different Macs as well as a number of Linux boxes using Remoter It handles screen scaling keyboard and mouse emulation with elegance All the special key combinations are easily accessible I love the visual snapshot of my screens to let me quickly choose which box to connect to I recently started using the SSH feature to control some Linux VMs and it works perfectly Within a few seconds I was able to get my colors set up the way I like and get to work With an app like this that is often needed in a critical situation you want things to just work Remoter just does and I highly recommend it                 Use it every day love it

Works sort of okay but the interface is black on black Whose brilliant idea was this Plus it can be impossible to access the part of the remote screen youre after like the menu bar        Black on black

This app has always had a buggy UI It also and frequently breaks and eventually fixes key functionality between releases The key feature of this app VNC over an SSH tunnel is an inapp purchase 401 good 45 vnc over ssh broken first try at iOS 7 UI horrid 4601 better again second try at iOS 7 UI better There are a bunch of intermittent bugs in this release If the list is still inmotion from a scroll and you tap the last connection that is partially offscreen on an iPhone 44s device the screen does not scroll to reveal the buttons to start the connection The settings screen has never scrolled to the right place when the keyboard raises when you open it This is horrid on an iPhone 6 as you cant even see what youre typing The switches in the settings are indecipherable as to if they are on or off On iOS 8 the password dialog box doesnt raise the keyboard until you tap the box This kind of lack of attention to detail has been persistent across major revisions Dont bother enabling or using the reconnect feature It doesnt remember your passwords even if you remain in the app Nice things Virtual trackpad is very handy Clipboard support Works great on OS X 1068108 and 109           Good but not by much

I use Remoter VNC to access my MacBook Pro thats usually in the basement It is fast and fullfeatured with a great interface If you need a reliable VNC I recommend giving this one careful consideration                 Use This All the Time

This app has always been promptly updated when Apple makes new changes and has remained a reliable way to remotely access my Mac                 Reliable and well maintained

Ive used this app for a couple of years now I have one main complaint THE INTERFACE IS VERY HARD TO READ Once Remoter jumped into the iOS 7 and 8 interface improvements I have to now use the search functions to find the remote machine I want to connect to Picking a configuration out of the tiled main screen is an exercise in futility and Im on an iPhone 6 Plus The old interface was easier to read Id like to see it brought back           Very useful app but interface hard to read

This is a nice RDP client Ive also used the SSH feature and works as advertised It has its quirks hope the developer gets to it soon I might say this is the best RDP client but I cant if say theres anything newer and better since Ive been using this one for more than a year and a half              Great RDP client

I love this App and use it all the time to run my iTunes on my Mac via my iPad But this new version has a keyboard buffer line at the top I have not been able to figure out how to disable his new feature It prevents me from using keyboard shortcuts like OptionI and does not allow quickfill to work since the Mac does not receive any letters until I hit Return Please allow me to turn off this keyboard buffer           New Version Prevents Keyboard Shortcuts

Remoter VNC is an app that I had used since 2011 for connections to my work network over VPN I hadnt bought any of the extras because I didnt need them While over the years some interface changes were annoying connection and control was reliable Until v4 that is Button presses will turn four different pretty colours but are nonresponsive When before I clicked it the remote computer would register immediately doing as intended now I wait and wait and maybe get jumpy actions I now use the free VNC Viewer No lag clean interface and the free version is secure over my private OpenVPN server     Once Great No Longer Responsive

I use this software to remotely manage my home network and play tech support for my Less than tech savvy family members It is simpler than any of the several programs that I have tried and the upgrades were well worth it to me                 Very easy very useful

Has worked good until tonight the night before a big trip The keyboard does appear if you have selected ask for password It simply says enter password but there is no way to enter it I go to their website and there is no way to email anyone at remoter So I try to join their community forum and after wasting even more time I get a SQL error Its a good program but the inability to contact the developer when you have a major problem kills it for me     No support

Unless you are a total Propellerhead this app is NOT for you Because the Developers assume that you already understand every cryptic acronym related to setting up this system and they give ZERO help in deciphering anything or even telling you the basics If you go to their very basic and lame website youll see a button to download the companion software that is installed on your laptop However when you actually click on that button it merely sends you to a forum discussing the software Someone in the forum has a link to what they claim is the right software but if you feel safe downloading an executable file from strangers onto your laptop then you deserve whatever virus you may receive I had to Google the software and download it from Softpedia and guess what for Windows the software is still in BETA form even though it was written in 2013 Are these Developers saying they couldnt find time to actually update a crucial aspect of this software to something more than Beta in nearly TWO YEARS After installing the software you have to register it with their server but when you do it gives you ZERO indication the process actually worked Theres no popup or dialogue box to tell you if anything went through I may not be an UberTechnoWizard but I know enough to know that this whole company looks like rank amateurs If youre going to cost your customers money by selling them a crap product with a lousy website and nothing but old Beta software then Im going to cost YOU money by giving you a welldeserved ONESTAR review     I Just Threw My Money Away By Buying This App

Use Remoter daily for ssh rdp and VNC Works with iOS8 but crashes constantly when using 3rd party keyboards and making them visiblehidden specifically swiftkey is the one I use Otherwise would get 5 stars              Great app

Ive bought the Pro version but it does not works well Hangs a lot when switching fromto fullscreen Hangs on showing the infotip boxes Should have a way to execute a macro on session start Should have a way to sync macros too The most annoyng problems are related with the freezinghanging This makes it almost unusable profissionally        Hangs a lot

After leaving the below review a half hour or so ago I went in search of a replacement for this app and discovered something very interesting Apparently the developer has added a new Remoter Pro version to the app store and no matter what you have already paid for youll have to shell out another discounted 699 because the developer didnt grandfather you in Now all you reviewers who paid for functions you no longer have know why you cant use them anymore Remoter Labs I bet all the responsible developers find your modus operandi appalling you give them all a bad name I know I certainly do Btw users VNC Viewer appears to have excellent reviews for a topnotch developer is free for a connection that is not encrypted from endtoend and has an encrypted upgrade available It is one among several I plan to test anything is better than this Half hour ago Once again the developer excels only in irresponsibility I have used this app for some time now paid for the upgrades and I can no longer connect The problem is definitely this version of the app because I can connect with an older version from an older albeit useless iPad Being confined to bed most of the time I cannot work without this app for which I spent a considerable amount of money The developer knows the situation he leaves his users in and this is not the first time he has left them stranded last time through multiple updates Developers who lack integrity dont deserve your money Rather than encourage bad development give your money to one who does And Apple You need to start removing poorly reviewed apps by trusted reviewers from the App Store Its time to start caring about quality rather than numbers Give the developers a deadline to fix the apps issues during which no new apps can be purchased and if they dont meet it remove it Previously Three updates since 8 was released still no dictation still missing toolbar above keyboard A lot of money worth of USELESS     Irresponsible Developer

Now that is the way to ask for a review No nagging dialog boxes no guilt trips just a polite request at the end of the notes of a free update showing your continuing support I administrate computers from across the globe and sometimes it isnt feasible to sit down at my desktop to help a college solve a problem on their machine Thats where this app shines Ive tried other VNC and remote apps but I keep coming back to this one to get the job done Keep up the great work                 Extremely Useful App

This app is a magnificent example of what an iOS app should be Especially useful is the combination purchase which makes the price for all the features it supports one of the lowest of all of the remote control apps Ive seen in the App Store But even if all you ever use is the builtin VNC connection type this is one app Im sure you will quickly love The developer is constantly making updates both to fix bugs as theyre reported and to add new features Multiple methods of cursor input are supported which makes working with different remote systems individual quirks much easier at times This app is truly one of the best apps Ive managed to find on the App Store in any category                 Best of the best still

The new color scheme is horrible Looks like the Easter bunny puked on it Sometimes the text is unreadable There are no borders on icons which makes it hard to tell one thing from another The icons have no definition which makes them look like blobs on the screen Please fix this Either go back to the old pre ios7 design or go in a different direction I thought you were going to fix this after all the bad reviews when ios 7 came out     Horrible new look Again

Ive used many RDP and VNC apps This one is fantastic I use the desktop version primarily but when Im on the go and in a pinch I am able to open up this and do my work with ease I keep my desktop sessions and credentials synchronized with the mobile app using the built in DropBox sync This is by far one of my favorite apps for RDP Many mouse pointer options ensure you can chose a method of input control you are most comfortable with For SSH I prefer a separate app known as Prompt but this is by far IMO the best RDP app                 Best available

The developers were relatively good at keeping up with iOS version updates with the exception of iOS 8 App crashes often black bar at top of screen eats up viewingdesktop area Looking for another VNC client        Buggy and Crashes
