Cant type anything        Horrible

I was using this app on my iPhone 5c until I traded it in recently for my iPhone 6 My only issue is that all of my old journal entries werent available to resync to the app about a year and a half worth of journal entries which was very frustrating because I like to look back at my old entires and feel nostalgic Anyway if they make a login then that would be awesome for future updates then Im sure that it would be great           Hmm

I have been using this app for too longmaybe a few yearsand I packed all my great vacay memories into it UNTIL THAT DAY CAMEIt gave me a message that said Wait a moment collecting data and then it would crash If I reopened same thing would happen no matter what I tried Months worth memoriesGONE DO NOT GET THIS APP GET A LIFE INSTEAD    

It use to work fine but not anymore It doesnt save entries and the calendar doesnt update to the correct day        Doesnt work

I had a lot of stuff but the app was messed up after the update I had iCloud syncing but those dicks removed so now I have nothing Update The true definition of too little too late Nothing has changed I will consider redownloading once they restore iCloud backup App is also still buggy 2 years of entries lost Unreadable Sitting on iCloud I deleted this app     05 Star App

The app worked great until I set up my DropBox account It crashed as soon as I hit sync in Settings and I havent been able to write in it since     Crashes after Syncing

App used to work fine until the last update Now it skips to different days by itself and erased half of what I wrote Dont like it anymore     Used to work

Got this very simple journal app which is all I need for my purposes Even paid the few buck they wanted for it Among simple activity tracking I use it to track business miles which I need to pull at the Ed of the year The the app automatically updated to some unasked for new look all my entries for the last few years where gone Contacted support They emailed me saying it would be fixed with the next update Update came But all historical entries are still gone All my tacking that I spend a de minutes on every day for years GONE What a horrible piece of junk app I wish I would never have used this I feel like such a fcking idiot to have trusted my data to these clowns Recommend you do not make this same mistake     Horrible Managed to loose all my years of entries when upgrading

This app is awesome Its been difficult lately with my schedule to sit and write so this journal is so convenient because I can write with it any where This journal is an awesome planner as well For people who are extra discreet you can also include a password to keep others from snooping in This is the best app Ive downloaded ever                 Feels like a Real Journal

This app just gets worse and worse with every update Now I cant even type one line without it constantly changing pages duplicating pages and staying open to my last entry even if I set it to the current day Dont bother with this one Its horrible     A few changes would make this awesome

I used this app successfully for almost a year Then the update ruined the simplicity and quality of the app Thats so backwards I dont want to make journal entries now because the darn page turns with the slightest touch The cursor has a mind of its own And these frigging ads are annoying Deleting     What happened

The patch offered as a solution to the previous crash is only a partial solution Old pictures have been lost even though the system tell you every time it is recovering them So old visual memories have been lost or appear so Also new entries do not get recorded The habit of journaling is being lost What a shame     My logging habit is being lost due to the update

Your latest update has made this app impossible to use Every time it gets anywhere close the the edge of the screen it turns the page and many times you loose the last line you just wrote Nightmare It was fine before I wish I could go back Waste of time now     Do you not test your updates

I am having to rewrite everything I type I go to click on a word that I am trying to fix and it turns the page and erases everything There are times when I have had to rewrite something five times Every thing else is fine but if I have a journal that isnt saving what is the point     Rewriting

Another Entry If I could just retrieve my entries this would help in my situation The setting feature does not work properly Therefore unable to access the Dropbox Should I continue to write The last memo from you was dated May 2015 Whats up with that New Entry Its still not working I was able to type in several sentences before the app crashes out The Dropbox setting unfortunately does not work either If I could just retrieve my previous entries that would be a lot for me I have not read any information from your web developers recently Am I missing the memos I am angry New Entry Its been awhile since getting the initial instructions not to delete app development team was working to fix bugs Are you making any progress to resolve the issues or it is a done deal and you are putting off telling us the data is gone and it cant be retrieved Ive pretty much come to this conclusion How sad I had not thought to back up my journal data How sad and angry this makes me New Entry No Its still not working After making 67 strokes the app crashes out Also the ability to sync information remains impossible to do so Im just going to have to accept the fact that I have lost my access to my journal data This is sad Very sad New Entry This is terrible Unable to sync information using setting option Although it says synced the folder is empty If I try to make a stroke to enter data the app crashes out New Entry As suggested by a few I have not deleted the app Recent update has no impact Cannot access my past entries The app continues to ask that I wait until the migration process is completed but later crashes out Waiting desperately New entry Any new information or should I write this off as a lost Im still hopeful right now Waiting to hear from you Im unable to retrieve any data from anywhere I have been using this app for more than 13 months It was working just fine and suddenly it stopped I am just sick and angry This app crashed and as a result of the crash Ive lost all of my entries Please DONOT PURCHASE Poor Can you bring back the old App     I am just sick

I appreciate that you guys came up with the bug fix created by your last release however all my entry date of over three years was not recovered lost forever This may sound trivial but it is NOT Unless there is a way to recover I will unload application and will never trust in any haphazard application written by you and your team     Lost

It is September 7th I check in now and again to see if there is a new update that might fix whatever keeps this app from opening on my iPhone Not sure why I do this Clearly the developers dont care andor are too stupid to fix the problem I have emailed them as have others I only update the review to keep others from making the same mistake I did Download some other journal app ANY other journal app So here we are at July 26th I switched to Penzu A way better experience overall Plus I can access the journal by app OR online I should have gone this route to begin with Fortunately I did not have any life altering entries in this app that failed miserably but some people did and I feel terrible for them I have emailed the app developers but they apparently have no ability or desire to make this app actually work again There is a special circle of hell for people like that I wish I could give this app a negative rating instead of just a one star July Are you FREAKING KIDDING ME You put out an update and it still doesnt fix the problems Gee how about this Reverse all your crappy updates and inept upgrades and let us back into this app so we can get our stuff off of this journal and move on to something more reliable Like paper and pencil YOU ARE THE WORST June 2015I have used this app for about 15 years without a problem Now I updated it and after trying to sync it to Dropbox it crashes And I cant get the app to open to unsync it with Dropbox I wish I had known I would not have updated the app Very disappointed     Please hurry on the update updated review

I had been using this app for a few months I really liked it I did the update and now the screen flashes as Im trying to type It sometimes wont let me place my curser into a spot to edit Some ads flash to whole screen randomly and I loose what I had just edited I thought the problem was the ads so was going to try and purchase the app to remove the ads but it gave no price and was going to process my purchase without telling me how much I was paying so I backed out of the purchase Please fix soon        Last update made more bugs I think

So relieved to see the newest update since the last one made it so I couldnt Access it at all nice new look BUT some bugs lost the last 1 12 days worth of journal entires annoying But more so a few bugs remain when I scroll backwards it scrolls back 2 days not one and when I try to move forward in date sometimes it just repeats the same day again I think this happens with long entries when Ive scrolled down to the end of the entry hopefully future updates will fix it The rest of the entries seem accurate           Better BUT

I downloaded this app a few months ok and it just worked ok With all of the recent updates this app is just horrible I write out my thoughts serious thoughts log out of the app and come back in to add additional thoughts then find that it has only saved a small portion of what Ive written This is just horrible     Not good

I never synced this app w the cloud so it doesnt crash during the database phase of the startup Im able to see old entries but the app crashes at the first keystroke of a new entry Unlike so many I still have access to my old entries but the app is useless for journaling new entries My heart goes out to you folks that lost everything Its just not right and you should be compensated for their loss May 27 update I feel sorry for the developer Not only did rev 30 destroy users data it put a lot of pressure on the developers to fix the problems quickly Unfortunately rev 31 is late and still broken It scrolls your text off the screen while typing and does not save what you typed FAIL Jun 8 update Manually copied all of my entries over to a real journaling app Deleted Private Journal and I wont look back     CompensatoryPunitive Action Needed

Update August 12 the app is now working on my iPhone but because the app on my iPad is still crashing nothing has been backed up on Dropbox That means the diary on my iPhone is blank Update August 3 Nothing has changed and emails to the publisher have not gotten any reply It still isnt backing up to Dropbox either There is some important information so I am only keeping this app just in case I can copy and save the few months in another place Update July 14 I have tried againAND IT IS STILL SCREWED UP Now when I go in it is asking me to set a passcode which I do but then it boots me out without saving the passcode That is happening every time which is stopping me from copying the entries to put somewhere else And this is NOT updating to Dropbox Update June 21 It is almost a full month since my last entry on this review This app still has not been fixed The only reason I am keeping it is to try and copy entries to another program but I get booted out after a few seconds Update The app does seem to have my old entries and attachments but it still is only backing up 75 and letting me use it for less than a minute before booting me out This desperately needs another update to care of these problems Original review All of my entries are back but with how badly this has gone I am going to copy all of my entries to another source and stop using this app If you want to keep a diary which is easy to back up do like I was doing before I found this app make an email address and only use it to send yourself emails like a diary That way you have your entries backed up in Sent Inbox and even on two email addresses     Do not use this

This app was tolerable before but the latest update is obnoxious I get popup ads every time I click on something new and it switches days randomly without hardly touching it SO disappointed     HATE LATEST UPDATE

New update still doesnt fix my issue so here it is over a month now and I still cant open the app on my iPhone to retrieve my entries This app is the worse Ive even emailed the developer and have yet to receive a reply after weeks I give up and have found a better app They need to kill this appits garbage Update 528 As of today the app still crashes This happened yesterday after I tried to link to Dropbox on my iPhone The app also doesnt sync entries between my iPad and iPhone which I thought it did when I downloaded it last year The app still has a lot of bugs I also cant see the end of my page as Im typing so it doesnt continue to scroll down the page Dropbox functionality still doesnt work properly on my iPhone or iPad In my Dropbox folder I dont see anything under the App folder in PrivateJournal And Im still not able to access any of my previous entries from my iPhone now that it continues to crash when I open the app Very frustratingIm going to have to find a new app for journaling The time I spend trying to get it to work just isnt worth it I too am experiencing the same issue The app says wait while migrating and then it crashes and closes out of app I was going to delete and reload but after seeing the message not toIll leave it alone until the new update has been released by Apple I too have months of journals I dont want to lose and would be very upset if I cant get them back There has to be a better way to back these up other than to the Cloud     App not working

I have lost so many entries from May till now The Dropbox did not help I have had this app for many years but this latest fiasco is devastating Please fix Everytime I try to open the app it runs through the download sync then after its at 100 it just closes That happens every Single Time     So disappointed

Because it keeps deleting my words The new method of navigating seems to lead to whole chunks of my writing disappearing and doesnt actually navigate consistently between pages Also the privacy code no longer works It was such an effective simple app but hey Im sure there are others out there that do what I want them to do without deleting my words     Recent updates mean Im deleting this

Ive been using this app for months and it was great It did exactly what I needed it too A journal with a password needed to get into it I like to write down my thoughts But after this latest update it all went to st Ill be typing and itll just erase several lines of what I typed Its very aggravating so I guess I cant use this app anymore Ill have to resort to a good ol notebook        It was all good just a week ago

I really liked this app prior to the recent update in May 2015 I would have given this app a 4 star It was reliable it had a nice look and kept all my entries Since the update im very disappointed The look is so boring and plain that I dont want to write in it some of my entries are missing and it crashes or does not even load        My experience with private journal

It used to work great but then it was updated and it crashes a lot Its hard for me to deal with because whenever I try and tap on the first picture that I put there it keeps turning the page even when Im clearly tapping the photo Please fix it           Crashes

As per this companies website I left the app alone until an update came out to fix the bugs Finally opened it today and surprise All my data from the last 2 years is completely gone Absolutely disgusted right now     Data is gone

I reluctantly took the latest update and at least can see all my old entries If I try to add an entry it scrolls wildly around and hard to type when you cannot see what you are typing When finished and close app then come back in entry not there So unable to post new entries I am VERY unhappy about being forced to get the dropbox app This is not working correctly either I have emailed multiple times with no reply The original developer was very responsive and whoever he sold this app off to is NOT     Not happy

Ive been using this app for months now and its always been buggy They say they fix it but then just create new bugs doing so Now it doesnt automatically skip to the current date it just leaves it where I last left off and while Im typing itll flip to the next day and erase everything I had just typed Write on a pen and paper is more effective At least I would recommend a pen and paper over this app     Nothing good to say

I have been writing in this journal for MONTHS now Suddenly theres an automatic update and ALL of my entries are gone Is there any way to get these back I was writing a book and so many important things and chapters were in there Im horrified right now Please please please tell me they arent all gone and I can get them back somehow     Freaking out right now

I didnt like that when I tried to edit a sentence meaning select in front of or between previously typed words if the words were too close to the side the journal automatically flips pages     Not for me

It takes forever to even get to passcode part because its migrating forever When it does it doesnt start me at the last entry or even the current date it takes me back to some random date then I have to scroll through each page to get to the current days date Im scared Im going to lose my entries so I keep it but once I find a way to save my entries this is getting uninstalled Dont mess up a good thing next time guys boooooo     This app BLOWS since the last update

I have the 1st generation iPad and used this app for a few years and I dont know why it stopped working many months ago I have been patiently waiting since it isnt just my old iPad but I cant update it past 51 and so I put the app on my phone hoping my account had my journal writings in it and it doesnt I just want my writings back My husband had passed away and I used this as a way to move forward dont tell me its all gone I think you need to give everyone an answer     This is total crap

I loved this used it every day It was so easy I felt I was building a dialog with myself in a cozy atmosphere Then poof Everything got messy DropboxiPhone and iPad apps dont track cant get the current day without an argumentDROPBOX really You have my sympathy I am also an app maker so I know it can be rough You need serious help and some better thinkers Ill find another waytoo bad It was great fun but it was just one of those APPS that curled up and died RIP journal Ps let me know if you figure it out Id like to root for you        Im sorry guys

Overall the app is good for writing but theres some details that could use improvement The touch and swipe to go to the next page is very undesirable its so sensitive that it doesnt allow me to look at the pictures I save with my entries also if Im writing and the page switches everything I wrote is lost So I constantly have to save Picking a date with the calendar can definitely be fixed too If I pick an entry from last year and I want to read more I open the calendar and it sets me back to the current month           Needs major improvement

After the update this app failed and took all old data with it Try Penzu     Does not work

can not sync with Dropbox between iPad and iPad mini afraid to upgrade because it seems that I may loose all of my journalling so far if these issues can be fixed I will be happy to upgrade on ipad2 journal usually doesnt open but on the rate occasion it does it crashes been happening since I added Dropbox           I do like the app but I needs some work
