Pretty awesome with Dropbox layers and the overall visual ease I get kicked out of pixeldude after undoing after a paint bucket fill quite frequently though on ipad1 Would be nice to have a larger canvas option though 64x64 or even 128x128 with 2x and 4x zoom options respectively Also when using the eyedropper I wish it would show the hue range for that color on the bottom in case I want to shade or highkight if that makes sense rather than guessing which color I used before Still cool though           Neato
Really simple well designed app Just what me and my story designer been looking for while designing our new game                 Looooooove This
I bought this App because of the Dropbox integration but it doesnt function the way I think it should I would like to be able to edit any image I have saved anywhere in my Dropbox but it doesnt work that way it only saves its images and datafiles to Dropbox Im sure I could play around with those files to get my images in there but I dont think its worth the hassle They should change the marketing to save to Dropbox to avoid some headaches Aside from that I think this product would fulfill my basic needs I hope they update it           Good foundation
This app is pretty cool but it has crashed twice while using paint bucket The price is maybe a bit steep but there is something unique and fun about this app Thumbs up and I recommend the purchase              Like this app but too expensive
The dropbox support is worth the price alone Add in all the bells and whistles especially layers and it is definitely worth purchasing                 Excellent
Let me preface this by saying that Im a game developer with four years of pixel art experience I usually use Adobe Photoshop for my pixel art on my personal computer I cant recommend this application to anyone trying to be productive or anyone serious about pixel art unless theyre making small characters or whatever It has no zoom abilities theres no grid theres no proper color picker it lacks a way to move throughout the canvas without switching tools and it crashed on me when undoing a flood fill The biggest problem I have with this app is the lack of a zoom function In the applications Help section theres a dedicated page that tries to explain why there isnt a zoom function so I assume its been requested before The official explanation is that zoom is for whimps sic and that if you zoom out too far you wont be able to draw accurately and that if you zoom in too much youll be able to draw with your fist This seems like a crummy explanation for the lack of a feature that I and other pixel artists I know use all the time Yes if you zoom out too much you cant accurately draw and the solution is for the user to not zoom out too much and try to draw Its not that hard The part about zooming in and being able to draw with your fists is just ridiculous I find that right now the canvas is too zoomed out for me to draw accurately at an acceptable rate Im using my finger here not something accurate like a mouse or a drawing tablet and not everyone is as accurate with their fingers as the developers When I work on pixel art in Photoshop I work at various zoom levels depending on what Im doing and how accurate I have to be for the particular task like if Im drawing the outline of a tree or something Ill be zoomed out more than if I were texturing something I also zoom out to whatever scale the graphics will be in the game to preview how it will look which is incredibly important for pixel art and something you should do often so you know how others will see it I find it a little insulting that you added a section of your help section for people who bought your app and want zooming called them whimps and not actually providing a sound explanation Please add this feature There isnt a grid I mean theres a pixel grid which you cant turn off I never use a pixel grid when making pixel art but there isnt a tile grid So if Im making 16x16 graphics I have to manually count each pixel and figure out the grid myself which takes a lot of time and is obnoxious There isnt really a color picker You have to choose from some odd palette system Every time you want to move throughout the canvas you have to switch tools This is annoying if youre working on something big You ought to be able to do this with two fingers or something like in Adobe Ideas and Im sure other art and drawing applications The application also crashed on me after undoing a flood fill I think Pixel Dude has potential but as it stands its not good for productivity Its for making cute little pixel art drawings I wish I had known that before purchasing        Not recommended for those serious about pixel art
This is a cool app that I actually dont have any use for but I enjoy playing with it Its got a very intuitive and friendly UI a nice touch is that the UI elements toolbar buttons etc are themselves pixelated I wish only that it came with some sample images or allowed the user to capture or import iPad icons              Very nice
