Most of the time I want to download articles to read on a plane The articles download stop don t really download It s hard to tell if you even have the full magazine offline It works okay on a wifi connection but is definitely behind other digital online magazines Honestly I would rather just download a pdf or maybe I ll take a hard copy with me         Buggy as hell Angrrrrrryyy

Where is the actual magazine I have tried over and over again to open this app to read and flip through the pages of the magazine itself yet recently only able to view the contents page I want to flip through the pages and can no longer do that What happened The update changed nothing It says the issue has downloaded yet I still only get a contents page Please fix this I paid for a magazine and I expect to be able to get what I paid for and flip through the pages     Stinks Carl_III

This is a great magazine that I have subscribed to for several years now with one serious problem there IS NO technical support This has cost them a negative review as well as a subscriber The only reason I am posting a negative review is that I have run out of options in my efforts to obtain technical support Recently I started having issues with the magazine downloading each time I opened it and only the article view was presented I have been unable to read the actual magazine This issue has also been replicated across 5 iPads so I know that it is not specific to my iPad     No technical support BLKEF

Not sure if this is an iOS 8 issue but since iOS 8 issues don t download When you try to download an issue it tries forever and finally comes back with an error message that says Page not available     Issues do not download WacoRickD

A widely acknowledged problem that PDN refuses to fix so when my subscription runs out I m done with the magazine         Can t delete old issues smithereens11

The good news is the app shows the magazine almost in the exact format as the print version This is also the bad news too The print version is sometimes very dense with text and images which is fine given the print version is oversized and suited to that but this doesn t work well with the app and you are constantly pinching and pulling to read things The solution is to build the app version from the ground up ignoring what has come before British Journal of Photography has done this quite well Another strange problem since this app was first available is you can t delete issues You must uninstall the app and reinstall to clear out prior issues Not good since they take up space     Good and bad kld2349

You can always read the magazine on wifi You can never seem to correctly download each issue to read on the airplane on the road in airplane mode the whole purpose of buying electronic content I have downloaded each issue multiple times even after it says downloaded It still won t b readable without a current connection I think I would rather subscribe to the paper copy until they get this worked out     Very Disappointing problems downloading issues always WilliamsonImages

I ve enjoyed reading SOME of the issues though I haven t cared for the content in all the issues enough to subscribe and it s a pretty slim mag on top of that However on the very positive side every now and then they put out an issue with content that really interests me like the July and August 2014 issues I was excited to read it then I was extremely disappointed to see that both of these issues kept freezing on RENDERING ARTICLE After repeated attempts and numerous support calls and troubleshooting with Apple App support still no go Apple determined the problem was with PDN issue itself and suggested I call PDN I requested a refund instead enough time wasted trying to resolve Developer should put out content that can actually be read Come on         Great magazine but serious flaws in rendering articles Dmtz9

I have been a long time 30 years subscriber to PDN I liked the iPad version because it was always with me along with my other content and apps much easier for traveling But the new version doesn t seem to be compatible with travel Previously downloaded issues have to reload very time you try to read them so if you are out of a wifi area you are out of luck I ve tried downloading an issue made sure it was complete but once on the airplane it gives me an error saying I need to be online If you fix this I ll go back up to 5 stars Otherwise it s a loser     Newest version is frustrating GKolanowski

I ve been a long time reader of PDN unfortunately the digital edition is awful To begin with even though you download the magazine you cannot read it without an internet connection I have contacted customer service on two separate occasions about the issue which they confirm is a problem and both times they said a fix was coming within a 2 weeks That was over a month ago The reading experience also leaves a lot to be desired You re constantly fighting with zooming in annoying animated tabs and much more I really hope they decide to create a digital experience worthy of this magazine     Poor Execution of a Good Magazine srtemple13

Goodbye to my print subscription to PDN the large bulky folio sized version relegated to a static space unless you like to lug around a bulky magazine I consume magazines on the go and the new iPad newsstand version of PDN is easy to navigate photos pinch up to reveal their detail and impact and the text options allow for greater enjoyment and easier access of an essential photography periodical I like it Kudos for the effort with thoughtful attention to how the reader viewer can best use the content                     Excellent herbguy1

I love the magazine but the iPad version is disappointing NOT worth the hefty subscription fee when the small text is hard to read and can t be made larger My advice unfortunately is avoid this     small text is hard to read neilvn

Yeah it does the trick The text is a little small on iPad if you re holding it horizontally there s a limit to how close you can pinch it in but vertically is fine swiping page by page you re just missing the spreads that way After spending so much time with Flipboard it s a little disappointing to tap a photo and not be able to see it enlarged but I guess you wouldn t be able to do that with the print version either I m not mad at it But I hope they work on taking advantage of the technology Also the Newswire feeds are doubled and the Photos of the Day are stretched or squeezed to fit Not that I d spend much time reading intermittent press releases about random photo competitions             It ain t Flipboard HotelCalifornian

0 stars Waiting for years to see PDN on iOS What an enormous let down 1st none of the news wire links are working Then downloaded an issue You ve got to be kidding 5 for pixelated images so bad I can t even read some of it For a magazine about pro photography they ve completely dropped the ball on image formatting and digital reproduction I m embarrassed for them really The print mag has seemed to be going downhill to the point where I let my subscript lapse Now this Really sad what is happening to pro journalism This use to be a great mag Looking less so everyday I hate the rise of the amateur     Finally Wait this is awful mgvphoto

Edit Got an email after requesting support directly from Texterity that asked me to try and view the issue again Don t know what they did but it works great now For the record what I see on my phone isn t blocky at all Looks great Will be buying more issues Downloaded app last night and ran through the previews Then attempted to purchase the Feb 2012 issue Money was taken purchase shows the restore option is allowed but no magazine Subsequently tried on desktop with no luck Deleted and reinstalled with no luck Reported issue early this morning and at 4PM EST still no luck My advice is stay away until apparent issues are resolved iPhone 4 running ios5                     Can only preview bug FIXED minivinip
