Welcome to "Origins and Endings," a special edition of Scientific American. For our debut on the iPad we curated some of our favorite articles from two single-topic issues, "Origins" and "The End," and added interactive ...
Absolutely fantastic in all regardscontent interface design Would be worth 10x the cost If you love science and biology buy is                 A years worth of college in a single app
If you like science this is the app for you Beautiful pictures well written articles graphics                 Cool
So this was a onenight estand Then you only get 1 star Way to demonstrate how backward you are Who would have expected that Scientific Am NeoLuddites No more Mr Nice eGuy move your butts and get us a subscription option for the iPad Popular Science can do it but this is too difficult for Scientific Am You should be ashamed Or is it that you like killing trees     Is that all there is
Fun design timeless content including video and interesting images This app stays true to Scientific American brand Look forward to seeing what the editors deliver in an monthly subscription app Disclosure I do some consulting work for SA but have tried to be as objective as possible when offering this review                 Great science content that stays to the Scientific American brand
I sent back the SA subscription card in the mail telling them I would rather wait for a digital subscription I waited patiently for SA to come to my iPad I see the SA app for 199 and I buy The articles look really good They even note the amazing iPad Im reading it on Then after the first few pages I see an ad to purchase a Scientific American subscription in print only Meh Surely the most sophisticated science publication in the world sees the irony Oh by the way Im getting old and cant see very well I really enjoy my iPads ability to make text larger and SA disabled that function Evolution really IS a slow process           Evolution is a slow process
This is a very interesting glimpse of a possible future of magazine publishing In addition it a neat way to gather together articles on related topics across many issues and perhaps even from several years into a single easily portable location I used to clip especially interesting articles but finding them when wanted was a problem This particular sample appears to have every word of the original articles with improved graphics and layout Plus there are embedded video clips that add considerably to the presentation true multimedia Now I want changeable type size and zoomable graphics After only 30 minutes skimming I am truly impressed with this initial effort Good work Scientific American                 The Future of Publishing
I Have been a subscriber of SA from last 5 years and since the iPad came out I have been looking forward to be able to read SA using an app specifically designed for SA magazine I will say that this app rocks I look forward to be able to read the magazine on my iPad from now onwards I hope that the price is set below 2499 per year for 12 issues I also wish they make an app for the mind magazine Regards Arshidpandit                 Great Application
