Im a portrait photog was ready to order 3 units I held off after the delayed shipping I was under the impression that since it was a Bluetooth flash unit I could use this with any camera app which is not the case When the WantNova finally arrived I found out that I had to use the Nova app which is archaic to say the least The flash consistently overexposes in the lowest setting is overly 56k in color temp There is no focus or exposure choices in the app Overall its a great idea that is a 59 novelty until the devs step it up on the app end Ill be happy to rereview if any updates come UPDATE Wow is all I can say Review update The Nova Flash unit now works with 645 ProII PureShot from jaggrtweets apps I can still import my image into the Nova app to make corrective capture options I upgraded my review from 2 stars to five stars Its really a smash hit with my friends about town Ive found that this is a superb on the go flash lighting unit Its easy to use triggers quickly One caveat is that it can be a little thought to juggle the iPhone focus snap image all at the same time Im sure that theres something in the works I also found out that Novaphotos flash unit also works with my honlphoto flash modifiers WHAT Yes they fit beautifully in the grids bounces gels Im on the fence if I should buy two more Although Ill ring it through my tests post it on my blog Overall this is extremely innovative for iOS imaging                 Eh

This light is really awesome Ive gotten some better photos and I love how far the flash can be when taking a photo I do wish that there was the ability to have manual mode in the app I would love to be able to change my ISO and shutter speed if I can I havent found it yet Or if anything be able to use the flash with other apps some how But other than that I have defiantly recommended people to buy the nova flash I think its a wonderful off camera flash              Wonderful

The iPhone has always taken pretty good daytime photos Finally you can easily use an offcamera flash to take control of lighting conditions for good night time shots                 Take better low light photos

So wanted this to work Will not sync with iPhone 5 or my iPad Air Tried reinstall and turning Bluetooth on and off Expensive mistake     Nova flash

First thing I noticed that I suggest addressing is the Icon on the lower right needs to actually show which flash mode it is in That way you dont need to tap the icon to verify the correct flash mode every time Right now with only the flower icon with or without the check mark is not very informative At least have some consistency in display and active selection Ok Thanks              So far good

Pro and cons in no particular order App is great and straight forward with basically the right number of features Range on the flash module is perfect If I had a request all Id ask is a video function with flash I know the battery would drain like hell but the option would be nice              Video would be great

This could be a cool little toy Only 2 requests 1 have an option where you can turn the light on and it stays on with the the option of having it turn off when the shutter is released that way you can prefocus in low light situations 2 put the shutter button in the same place as the native camera app I horizontal view it is virtually impossible to take a photo with one hand which you are most likely going to do if the other hand is holding the flash Keep up the good work        Good concept not there yet

I have been wanting something like this for a long time The flash is extremely useful and functions better than expected It turns on the minute you open the app and seems to shutdown when you leave the app The latest update to the software is awesome and has fixed the crashes I use to get One thing that would like added is the ability for the light to be always on as an option Sometimes in a not well lit room it would be nice to have the light on to focus lock focus and then trigger the flash and camera Thanks for an awesome product so far                 Finally

I wrote 3 long reviews already and Everytime I tried to post it got shut down on an error I should of copied and paste So now I am sorry for the lack of a detailed review Long story short Stopped working after first 3 hour Lack of customer support After not working in the first 3 hour I am worried that a 90 day warranty doesnt cut it If the product functioned then I think it would of been great        It only it worked

Nova flash hardware seems great so far but the app itself is causing me problems it is slow to take a picture then it will randomly take pictures when i am doing other tasks Hope the app gets fixed soon and then it will be a killer combo        Buggy software

Ive been playing with this flash for a while now I was rather let down by the old camera app for it but this version allows more control and is more functional The flash adds a nice amount of fill outdoors but isnt quite powerful enough to fill deep shadows in sunlight unless youre fairly close Indoors this flash performs well and adds a natural looking light to your photos Perfect for basic portraits because its not oncamera flash It also makes for very nice food or product shots as you can position it to where its most flattering The app gives you the ability to control the power and the colortemperature warmthcoolness of the light that the flash gives off This flash does not function as a video fill light The flash is small and light Easy to slip into your pocket and take with you My only real complaint is that even if you dont use it you have to charge the flash before use Apparently the Bluetooth radio stays actively waiting for the apps signal draining the battery over time Id prefer a power switch to keep it charge Definitely worth the money if you like to control your light source              Very nice accessory Needs better battery

The Nova flash device itself is great but the app needs some real improvements 1 Flashlight mode would be great so you can keep the light on constantly 2 If you rotate your camera so its horizontal the shutter release button moves to the bottomcenter of the screen and is nearly impossible to press True you can use the volume button but I find that makes the phone jiggle just as you take the photo 3 Focus lock We need one desperately 4 The images that are produced come out NOISY This is unacceptable The entire point of using a flash is to keep the ISO low thus avoiding noise Whats the point of a flash when your photos come out noisy 5 The app kills the battery on my iPhone very quickly Im on the fence about returning the Nova Flash because the app does the light no justice at all        Good hardware bad software

This app is like an all in one app for photography Its really good                 Great

I have only been using the App for a little bit now but this has become my go to picture editing application It has everything you need in one place I would typically need to have 4 apps on my phone for what this one can do                 Incredibly Powerful App

I feel this is a real game changer in iphone photography Being able to light up your photo with a wireless flash gives your photo a more professional look and thats just what Ive been looking for With that said I feel the app it self needs a few minor tweaks 1 Option to zoom when taking a photo Unless its there already and I cant find it 2 Video mode 3 Flashlight mode to keep the flash on while recording Other then that I love it and will be using it all the time              Great flash App needs minor tweaks

Just got this today Works as advertised Not the cheapest product given the construction quality of the actual flash unit all plastic body does not feel very durable otherwise works really really well                 Love it

Great start please consider a couple of items Focus lock Exposure lock Selftimer that preflashes the Nova to reduce red eye Very enthused about getting the Nova and having a better controlled lighting source              Nice photo app please add

Its a fun little toy But I feel that theyre missing a lot of opportunities with the app No dont see where the closeup is and what about the video It would be great for that The app is limited and I was really hoping it would work with the iPhone camera native app Disappointing Ill wait tho to see how it develops           Missing the boat

Its a fantastic camera app with or without using the nova flash                 So easy to use

Love this off camera flash cant put it down Great light settings good focus and exposure adjustment followed with a good postshot editor Would love to see the next generation with a battery meter in the app as well as apisdk integration with other camera apps Really like that it works along side my selfie stick bluetooth remote No buttons or setup it just worksvery Maclike Super tiny and portable but packs a bright punch Found that it works great if you hold it further back from your subject I hold the phone with my hand and using my selfie stick as the flash extender If you are worried about extended battery life pick up a cheap USB portable batterie backup it doesnt take muck to keep the Nova powered up                 This little light of mine

The device is so nice sleek compact easy to use The software is also well designed and works perfect Problem is the pics are horrible The pics come out super yellow or blue depending on your settings and the details are all washed out or blurry The pics dont come close to the quality or realism of the iPhone flash I hope they can fix this because its a really awesome piece of hardware otherwise Ill wait for the update to decide if Im sending this back or not        Nice concept failed execution

Needs to be able to work with default camera app for iphone even if you need to manually hook it up to bluetooth or make it so you can have a grid in the original app and a square frame for photos yah know              Minor fixes
