This program is exactly what I want and expect from a notebook application I wouldnt consider trying another one because this one has everything I need and is designed exceedingly well It doesnt exactly match the iOS look and feel but dont let that that throw you If you want a writing utility this is the one                 The Standard Notebook

I have downloaded a few note taking apps and this is my favorite by far                 Great App

There is a learning curve but so worth it Easily the best notepad app out there Use it in the educational field Take notes import PDFs create my own templates on my laptop and save them as PDF and import them to write all over and then print or email them Can not believe the comment on the one star Completely disagree with what he had to say about the handwriting                 Still amazing

I use this app for manuscript revisions editing screenplay PDFs and novels To be able to hand write notes and add text as well in a quick organized efficient format makes NoteTaker HD a gem The more I use it the more I appreciate its practicality and ease                 Awesome 2nd Review

I have tried them all and this is the best Full featured and with excellent help For those that complain that it doesnt have a MAC counterpart you cant write on a MAC Get Growly notes free on the MAC and import notes from this as images or pdf Dont hesitate to get this app for note taking                 The best IPad app in the App Store

I have just about EVERY note taking app for the iPad if it includes handwriting There are a couple that stick out for various reasons However this one is the best allaround for professional use Its not the sexiest to manuver around in and theres a couple features that I feel would put this over the top Its been reliable doesnt lag offers lots of customization to the note and offers easy organization options for each of my accounts I have notes spread through several apps as I keep trying to find one that has all the features but right now I have over 340 notes saved in this app AFter a couple days use of a different app I wind up back with this one Pros Zoom feature for handwriting works great Can reposition the box very easily to write exactly where you want Auto advance feature is not my favorite kind where you start writing over what you already wrote and it moves the text forward but it works Organization drilldown Example I create a folder of an account In that folder I create a folder for one of the accounts locations In THAT folder I create a folder for the specific project the note is for In that folder I create the note for the day Wonderful Can organize folders by alphabetical and by date modified Why in the heck doesnt EVERY note app let you organize your notes alphabetically What planet are they from noteshelf and notability for example Reliable Over the years I dont remember it crashing except when I tried opening a schematic that was over 100MB it struggled with that one Have never lost a note with any updates Also i have gone through 4 iPads that have had this app and when one breaks these notes somehow all populate I use iCloud backup but this has been an automatic process with the appnothing I had to initiate Customizable Import document templates of your own creation I use a checklist template Import your own symbols and the symbols preloaded are useful and mature for the professional they arent all emoticons and hearts and puckered lips but different arrows and architectural symbols and the like Writing zoomed in anywhere on the page Also when zoomed in over a picture the zoom box displays a zoomed in view of that part of the picture Most notably Note Suite is missing this function which is surprisingly vital to me when exporting notes it actually does a good job of compressing the file I dont end up exporting a 40MB file that kills my dropbox cough Note Suite and it seems like its smaller than other apps with the same note Cons Handwriting works well However its not as smooth realistic and satisfying as a lot of other apps If I were journaling for example Id prefer to use Noteshelf or UPad because of their ink replication Lack of search feature As I get more and more folders in this app it would be nice to type the name of that folder in a search bar and have it appear Otherwise if the folder starts with a V Ive got to scroll down which I inevitably try to do a turboscroll which in turn can often cause me to scroll too far Just a nuissance One other minor quark Id like to mention in hopes that its fixed When you alphabetize the case should not matter However it does to Notetaker HD For example if I have a folder called Horizon and another one called horizon they should be right next to each other or I should be prompted and asked if Im sure I want to create a duplicate What notetaker does is lump the Caps folders with the lower case folders so my horizon folder is AFTER Yesters It took frustration and a couple duplicates before I realized it was doing this Unable to select specific pages when exporting If you have a 23 page note you are emailing a 23 page note I may seem critical because I am to an OCDtype level This comes from going indepth with every note taking app I can find For professional purposes this is my goto dang it I wish it was a little more sexy and the above features were rectified especially the search and the handwriting but its organized and very very well put together It has all the features required for precision note taking Other top contenders Noteshelf but is very annoying that the folders cant be alphabeticalized but at least has search Notes Plus actually a very very close contender here for professionals I like Noteledge but theres so many features missing with it like no zoom in writing are you kidding No Im not and no ability to create folderscome to think of it I cant think of why i like it so much UPad is great but why why why do you have to have your notes on a complete seperate screen from your imported PDFs and your pictures Notability is good but again no alphabetizing and wacky folder creations They dont call them folders but subjects and its very easy when importing a file to lose where it went Anyways this is at LEAST a musttry if youre looking for professional usage This is one of the longestrunning ones I know of                 Hate to Have to give it 5 stars

I have been using this app since 2012 and it is my go to app I have tried many other note taking apps and none have the features that Notetaker HD has I use this app for everything from handwritten meeting notes and then send them to Evernote and for writing noteshighlighting PDF documents If I could add takes to my todo list I would improve my productivity even more                 Still the best writing app

Interface is not as elegant as some that I have seen but are you buying an app because it looks pretty or because of its functionality This app is amazing it so very practical and pretty easy to master Note to developerwill you add ability for the jot script pro evernote stylus to be compatible                 Amazing app with tons of versatility

Ive been using it for several years now and is a great app However I upgraded recently and Im experiencing several instances in which I loose notes not saved It happens whenever a calendar reminder or meeting invite pops up and whenever I switch applications           Crashing

Ive tried numerous note taking apps but keep coming back to Note Taker HD Given my engineering technical background I love the grid paper options and nononsense but fullyfunctional interface compared with the more artistic focus of other apps This app is on the first page of my home screen with the few other heavily used must have iPad apps                 Must Have for Engineers Other Technical People

This is the best app out there for note taking No debate However it would be five star worthy if it offered some iCloud syncing capability and now with the iPhone plus it needs to offer compatibility with iPhone Please and thank you              Love this app but

I got this app within a week or so of buying my iPad back in 2012 It has solved so many of my needs in daily work and has allowed me to walk around with the equivalent of a 3 foot high stack of spiral bound notebooks of important work notes across 25 years for access to current and prior projects instantly The foresight and functionality embedded in this app is astonishing Whats more people on a regular basis are highly impressed at the app when they see me using it And others are highly impressed when they receive the PDFs I send them from within the app containing markups or questions that can only be communicated by drawings 11 out of 10 stars for this app and I hope Apple knows that apps like these are why their iPads have such value                 This is why they made the ipad

I have been using this app regularly for several months it is worth every cent I paid for it My iPad is 1000x more handy with this app It gets updated often and though I use it almost everyday there are still features I have not explored                 Simply awesome recommended

I stopped using it a few years ago hoping they would have remote backup supported by now     no Dropbox support

If I could give it ZERO stars I would This is another ludicrous update It crashes 100 of the times when trying to output via email or Open I use this app every single day for work and Im now completely STUCK Its also time to incorporate fingerprint signin     AWFUL UPDATE

Ill join with those who have written and said that if this app was the only app on my iPad it would be well worth the 500 bucks I paid for it This is much more than a simple note taking tool its a wonderfully intuitive and powerful program for building charts office forms planning schedules and charts Want to brainstorm rough ideas and polish them into presentationworthy PDFs This is all youll need The file folder system is great for sorting all the pages you create The builtin calendar builder graph builders and myriad object builders are all genius Import images PDFs mark them up then print out what youve created in a snap This app is brilliant Dont hesitate on this one This app transforms your iPad and turns it into an extension of your creative mind                 My iPad Just Doubled In Value

This is the main app I use on my iPad I have over 500 documents I use it for journaling and writing down creative ideas I been writing in paper notebooks for years and this has completely taken their place You can organize your documents so neatly and since the creator of this app is the inventor of the spreadsheet Dan Bricklin it has all the types of functionality that makes spreadsheets so powerful With the tap of a button you can duplicate a page change the colors of your ink and bolden them backup your data as separate compressed file to ensure you have it safe in case of iPad crash cutcopypaste and make legible print due to zoom feature Dont be discoraged if the interface seems complicating its easy to learn but not a small featured app like the others It can do way more than what I use it for see feature list but if you are an avid paper journal maker and just like paper over typing this app is for you You have just gone digital                 10 star program

Truly an Amazing app What a wonderful thing you have done here just a couple comments of things i would love to see in your next update Give users the option of small medium or large buttons and button text size Both are too small Same idea for the green dot wrist protection indicator Just increase the size slightly i struggle sometimes to grab it with my stylus to move it Thanks again for this wonderful app              Amazing

I bought this way back when i got my first iPad the 2nd gen iPad I believe and to this day I have yet to find a better note taking application This app has become so important and ingrained in my workflow that this app alone justifies the purchase of an iPad Im the type of person who writes everything down so needless to say this app gets a lot of use I keep everything from my budget and spending log my journal college notes work notes lists you name it This app is a tad more complex than other note taking apps but it is also much more powerful Its also stable as a rock in all these years it has yet to lose a single stroke and it has never ever ever once crashed Props and thanks to Dan for making this masterpiece                 Irreplaceable

Ive had a few notes just disappear and the keyboard function occasionally goes blank and I cant see the keys Its a shame because this app could really be great I like its simplicity and functionality        Needs improvement

I am not really sure why this app gets such good ratings Dont waste your money if you are thinking about buying it TopNotes free version works just as well as this app I somehow thought that the writing would look better Your handwriting in Bamboo Paper also free is more legible it looks unbelievably smooth almost as if you had written it using a ballpoint pen You cant annotate documents in it but for note taking Bamboo Paper is hands down the best app I would like to note however that Bamboo paper has inapp purchases notebookpaper texturestypes like for writing sketching painting etc writing tools etc I dont work for bamboo or top notes I am just a consumer who is annoyed with all the subpar paid apps     Cant give less than one star

I used to be a notability user but the inability to notate a PDF in landscape mode or rotate pictures started me looking for a new app I saw the high ratings and decided to risk 5 bucks I was immediately impressed by the numerous ways to modify operations and I really like the auto advance being on the left so I can begin writing a new word wo waiting for the advance like with right sided advance area The only drawback is that it doesnt have the iCloud auto backup like notability The help menu is waaaaaayyyy better than notability                 Can do it all

Maybe after working with it a few years it will get easier Typed up a multiple page report have no idea how to view or send more than the front page Guess for now I will be retyping on PC big learning curve if you have the time Support is nonexistent FAQs are confusing as well Single worst app I have used for lack of intuitively being able to open and do something productive Wasted my time and money Who is writing these glowing reviews Software Garden employees     Confusing

This is a great way for taking notes performing calculations and sketching                 Just what I was looking for

This app is invaluable I use it for my job It keeps all my customer notes organized and easy to find I also use it to highlight contracts for my customers they always come back correctly completed Cannot live without it                 This is my most used app

One thing that sets this app apart from most others is that it is stable and bug free The developer is obviously a master of the art of software design and coding He has provided updates to keep this app working under ever changing versions of iOS Thanks It would be nice to see some new features in addition to compatibility updates For example the ability to search for text in multiple documents would be most welcome              Stable Well Written App

I got this app because a friend was using it to take notes in class he was effortlessly sweeping his stylus across the screen producing very readable notes Which is saying a lot for his handwriting Most of the reviews are outstandingly positive When I opened it on my iPad Air I could write with my finger no problem When I used the EXACT same stylus on it I had to press down until the tip of the stylus point was flat to get it to even make a mark I cannot write anything with the stylus There is nothing meaningful in the documentation about what kind of stylus you are supposed to usebut I used the same stylus same physical one and I had to press it down until it was flat to get it to do anything The amount of documentation is almost staggering for an iPad app This app has the highest learning curve of any app Ive ever downloaded on any of the iPads I use When you do wade through the documentation it still doesnt answer simple questions I just spent two hours watched three videos and read nearly all the online documentation all for naught The help assumes the thing works in the first place but I could never get my copy to even work After reading reviews here I find out Software Garden doesnt even support their own products by email The app is worthless to me I bought a Bamboo Fineline stylus maybe it will work But the system requirements says nothing about having to buy a 70 stylus to use it Ill probably have to switch to Bamboo Paper that comes with the stylus     A read disappointmentDont waste your money

I use it all of the time for work I am always able to find notes from even years ago much easier than looking through a physical notepad I do use a good stylus and it feels just like real paper The ability to take photos with the camera and annotate them is used a lot The ability to send notes as a PDFs to others has been very useful as well                 Excellent ap

I am obviously in the minority here but I just purchased this and feel like I flushed 5 down the toilet This is the most unuser friendly app I have ever tried Talk about counterintuititve This entire app is confusing and frustrating beyond description If you are looking for a simple app that lets you hand write your notes and saves them for you definitely skip this app So mad that I paid 5 for this     Absolutely Frustrating App

This app allows multiple input types and works perfectly to either annotate a single document or use a PDF as a background template for multiples                 No frills but perfect

Like others Ive tried all the note taking apps Notetaker HD is clearly the best It achieves just the right balance between simplicity and useful features Freehand writing is far more responsive than most apps and implementation of the magnifying feature is well done Only one thing is missing integration with cloudbased utilities such as Dropbox and Evernote This is a significant shortcoming inclusion of this integration would make Notetaker HD a true fivestar app                 Missing just one thing

This is the app I put all the important work papers memos and articles Easy to use Converts documents and allows annotations Wish it linked to open in windows apps like word and other apps I find a way to work around GREAT APP                 My go to app

This is one of those apps where the reviews may seem strange They gravitate toward the ends People love or hate it Unlike apps like Notability this app is probably not instantly usable for most There are a lot of buttons and features If you are willing to watch the videos and read the manual you will be fine If you take your time and still have problems you might be happier with a plain pen and paper and theres nothing wrong with that But if you are willing to put in some time heres why this app is so good 1 Its not constantly updated Yes this is actually good for an app that becomes critical to your workflow Ask the users of Penultimate about that 2 Its solid Ive yet to see a crash That doesnt mean it might not but its one the most solid apps youll find Again critical for something important like your notes 3 The charting calendar and flow charting tools are very nice This is almost a mini Visio in that regard The app is also MUCH smaller than other apps This version is 6 mb Programs like goodnotes run over 100 mb As a software developer myself I can tell you its much harder to write small efficient code It speaks well of the developer I cant speak to the support issues as I havent used support so the complaints there may be justified But the program itself is solidYou have to be willing to spend a little time learning and you will get a lot out of this program                 Best note taking app if you are willing to learn

Great App IF you could actually get a response from support Have emailed 6 times requesting a bug fix andor an explanation of how to get around the problem No response If developers dont support an app then what good is it     Support nonexistent

This app does everything I want it to do especially tasks many other apps have failed to perform at an acceptable level As a student I can download PPT PDFs take notes on the page and insert notebook pages between the pages I also have many notebooks all containing hundreds of pages each My only woe is that the handwriting isnt as smooth as some other apps have been able to make it For example Bamboo paper provides excellent smoothing Other than that perfect Ive tried just about every other note taking app and this one wins gold              Its Almost True Love

I just bought this and have spent the last 30min trying to figure out how to begin writing The pen button doesnt seem to do anything and it keeps just sending me to make a new folder I went into the instructions to watch a video thinking that might help but the video didnt show how to get started in the folder screen I was in or how to get out of that of need be Im pretty ipad literate and have had one for 34 years using it for business email calendars etc so I know I cant be he only one that has had trouble Not a fan     Confusing

Note taker HD far surpasses other apps when it comes to handwriting The fingerstylus tracking is by far the smoothest and most responsive the eraser behaves the way a real eraser does and the zoom window has no size limitation as it does in others The available templates are another outstanding feature missing from other apps Inserting a table changing the number of rows columns and sizing it are only a few movements Similarly for other objects and there are many                 Still the best

I started with this app then moved to Penultimate to integrate with my Evernote Then the new version of Penultimate came out 6 and it just isnt usable anymore Penultimate users suggest Notability but they just came out with a new version that renders it useless So now Im back to Note Taker HD Software Garden take note what the others have done to ruin their apps Keep it working as is and I will stay              Great alternative to Penultimate and Notability

This app has an amazing amount of power and features Ive tried a few other notetaking apps and was totally surprised by the huge featureset of this app yet its all very intuitive and accessible Highly recommended                 Huge accessible feature set Awesome
