I wanted to rate this app with 0 stars but every time I tried to write this review it would never let me start out with 0 stars it always started at 1 star I am disgusted and embarrassed that this is a representation of my local news organization This app has had serious editorial errors since it first began as well as a general lack in updating the stories etc I went on this app tonight to read about the tragic deaths of members of a family I grew up with I was disgusted to see the complete lack of ANY sort of editing This is an insult to those who care for the family involved It shows News5s COMPLETE lack of compassion or decency when compiling a story Its only news to this corporation apparently I understand neutrality and needing to meet deadlines in journalism but there is such a thing as respect Respect for the situation you report about as well as respect for your reputation as journalists I will be removing this app     Embarrassing

It used to have major flaws but the app has aged well over time and things are much better The breaking news alerts are useful                 Nice app

iPhone 5 Freezes crashes There is a lag that I dont have with other apps           Works sometimes

I usually use this to check the weather paired with the weather channel app There are cool features like Doppler radar that you can zoom in and out from your location and see if a storm is heading your way It is updated very well with written and streaming forecasts Ive never had a crash problem Overall its a cool local app for folks that want to catch up on the news and weather at their leisure                 Great local app

Although there appears to be a better use of spellcheck the update fails The new layout is a giant step back and looks more like a school news website The ads are too large and jump as you scroll the news articles making it more likely to click on the ads rather than the articles If I could undo this update I would        Update

I have this installed on my phone and Kindle Fire I have found that the weather radars are more reliable Only wish it had severe weather alerts                 Love this app

At first this app was good and a great way to keep up with local news weather and sports As time went on I noticed that they rarely update the page Often times they leave the same news story up for days if not stories news events that are a week old They often speak of extra news reports by clicking on an embedded icon link which never works 1 star rating for their current and update news stories The only section they seem to care about is the weather Weather information 4 stars Sports very very poor job As before if you missed anything a week ago you will be able to read about it because its still there no updates only about two new stories a day Sports 1 star Very disappointed in this app     Never updated always old news

Its better than nothing at all and it is annoying trying to scroll and hitting ads at the bottom by accident maybe add a pro version and charge like 199 for it Also it would be nice to organize the side menu with selections that lead into sub categories Anyway thanks for the news app it is cool and I would love to see it become more interactive with the news team Also great work who ever put this together I know it had to take some effort and I bet the Buggs and crashes were tough to work out at first Thanks again           Could use some work

Crashes everytime i get on it no matter what i do Iphone 5     Doesnt work

Latest version has ads that play audio and request microphone use I would not recommend downloading until they fix this garbage        Annoying

Wheres the section for local news If you want to be like the WJHL app you need a section dedicated to local news specific to the TriCities A functioning local crime section would be appreciated too Overall the app is good but needs more news UPDATES Im sure there are more than 2 or 3 stories a day A way to contact you via the app to report breaking news or upload photos would be nice too           Just ok
