This thing does not show you dead spots or anything like that It is just a speed test and there are lots of apps for that the work better and they are free Do not buy this if you are wanting to figure out signal strength They make it seem like it does but then the put a little disclaimer at the BOTTOM of there description If I can I will be getting my money back from Apple and sending them a complaint about allowing apps like this     Does not do what it implies Mat2dong

Downloaded this to check wifi signal strength in our home as the best way to do this given limitations Apple has placed on direct access to wifi antenna which is likely a good thing to avoid spread of viruses I suspect and it works great You just have to stay in place at a site you are checking until you get a steady signal and then move to the next area I would love to see the ability to display what access point you are using for the link as my home has several nodes I checked the Airport Utility to know which one I was accessing Overall well worth the low price highly recommended                     Works great DocBob

Even though the app says you can move around the house and measure speed AND even though the setting feature claims it lets you choose a Duration time of up to five minutes IT DOES NOT the unit times out and tells you the test in complete in about 10 seconds So you really cannot move around to judge the best spot for fastest speed you need to continually turn the device on This seems to all have happened in a recent upgrade It really USE TO work well     Does not maintain the signal BillC

I have three wifi routers in the house and was looking for a way to evaluate wifi signal strength in various places in and around the house I wanted to optimize wifi router placement to get the best wifi coverage The Network Multimeter app does the job I can walk around the house and an analog meter continuously shows the varying wifi network speed Mbps As I am new to iTunes and iPad I had some problems dowloading and installing the app and used iTunes app support to e mail Jackson Software for help They immediately responded and helped me resolve the problem Great app and great support Thank you Jackson Software                     Great app barfo12345lomew

A very helpful app Works as advertised I don t understand the negative reviews Read the description before you buy The app does not measure signal strength no app can The app measures download speed or ping duration These measurements will fluctuate over time I find that the download speed together with the amount of fluctuation is a useful indicator of the wifi strength A useful addition to the app add some kind of warning when you are in the 0 10Mb s scale and the speed exceeds 10Mb s Or auto ranging would be nice                 Good little app FroggyTGremlin

Very cool future enhancement ideas 1 Up the D L meter log or have a scale setting or have it dynamically scale up to 10 000 mbps or up it statically to at least 1 000 mbps 2 Incorporate a Mbps MBps toggle 3 Incorporate a passive listening mode with a toggle for available nic s 4 Write an agent that can be installed on other devices This would work superduper with a passive listening mode where the meters POP could be on another device s nic s 5 Incorporate tcpping and tcptraceroute with a port specification to enable lots of cool reporting metrics for specific services Anyway keep up the great work                     Well Done Dtdionne
