Great app easy to use I tried the bar code reader on a toy that is 16 years old and it knew what the item was The app works for everything you could ever need it for Even customer support is great I emailed them a question after 12 30am and received an answer and help within a hour and they answered question perfectly                     Great app JACKS 3

I bought this app for its ability to scan I wanted to scan my records and CDs But when I scan them it won t even put in the artist name only the title of the album This app just doesn t cut it for me         Don t use for music collection anodyne66

Worked great for managing my beer cellar but recently the UPC scanning option stopped working Used to scan barcode and search Internet and the auto fill but no longer does Pretty worthless now as you have to enter everything by hand negating the purpose of the app     Used to be great but Brady123

It s barcode scanning feature appears to be busted I had great success at first But when I tried to use it today it would scan an item and nothing would come up no pic name info I tried several different products too thinking it was an error with the first item         Great app but TeaLeafOnTheWind

Great app We have a cabin and a boat and I can t ever remember what s in the pantry at either one This app made inventorying with the bar scan a snap I had some trouble when I scanned an item for the boat that was also at the cabin I contacted support and in no time they supplied me with the answer Hit the sign on the inventory page while in the new location No more four bottles of maple syrup because I m sure we are out                     Just what I was looking for Allaboutfun.1

The program is nice looking and could identify by name some of my food items but I was extremely disappointed that an item could only be listed in one location Unless I missed a work around the program is useless to me for home food inventory I have garage dining room 15 20 kitchen locations bedroom and living room locations that could all be used I would also like to be able to look at all items in each location Quantity was good to have But good was my major area of concern Again it promised hope of success for me and then failed on one of the most critical points     Nest Egg Cody8145

Nestegg is a very pretty inventory manager but it has a few critical flaws that make it unusable 1 While you can export to csv you cannot import from csv Therefore it you are using another program and want to import your data or want to tweak a few things in excel you cannot 2 While there is a barcode scanner there is no data base search if the scanner fails which it often does or if you don t have a barcode to scan Therefore you could be left doing a lot of data input manually 3 You cannot at least in my experience add custom item attributes For example every item input template is the same If you want to add the size of a shirt for example there is nowhere to input it         Nestegg is a very pretty inventory manager but it has a few critical flaws that make it unusable Skippycast

My husband is active duty Army so we move A LOT I can t count how many belongings we ve lost broken or accidentally thrown out due to disorganization Even my method of handwritten spreadsheets failed we lost the notebook sometime while unloading the moving truck When my husband received his orders last November I was determined to do things right this time I found Nest Egg and with a little tweaking developed a simple colored coded numerical system for organizing boxes by room I used Nest Egg to keep track of every single item in every single box and how many boxes we had for each room of our new house It took some extra time to get started but once I had the system down I was able to pack almost as fast as I could without using Nest Egg I could locate every single item we owned with just a couple clicks Even my in laws were impressed my father in law asked where a certain outfit was but I d already packed it But I pulled out my phone and opened Nest Egg found the outfit located the box and 10 seconds later I had the outfit After moving unpacking was ridiculously easy We were able to find everything we needed just by locating it in the app And our insurance company accepted Nest Egg in lieu of a written inventory in fact I had taken photos of nearly all of our stuff as I packed so we were more than prepared in case of loss I even took photos of receipts to go with our high ticket items like the TV just in case Thankfully this is the first moved where we had no loss including breakage at all during our move but it was still nice to know we were covered Even better I was able to download the entire database and transfer it to my husband s phone and our iPad so we both had access whenever we needed And since the database is on our phone and not scribbled in a ratty old notebook we didn t have to worry about losing it Since moving I ve begun using Nest Egg to keep track of what we keep in storage everything from seasonal clothes to holiday decorations to extra furniture and it has definitely simplified our lives I m now putting away our Halloween decorations photographing and listening each item as I pack it away so that I ll know exactly where everything is come next year I might get really adventurous one day and inventory the entire house just because I can Seriously if you re moving you have a lot of stuff in storage you need an inventory for insurance purposes or you just like to know where everything is Nest Egg is the way to go I will never move again without Nest Egg and I recommend it to everyone I know                     Helps Make Moving Unpacking a Snap crissaboo

This is a really neat concept and good app to keep track of future purchases but it could use a few updates 1 Seller Manufacturer Database It needs a database of companies so that the user doesn t have to manually input all the information for a particular seller manufacturer While it s understandable that smaller companies will still need to be manually inputted big companies such as Apple Windows Google etc should either already be in there or can be searched for by the user 2 User Account It s annoying and not ideal to have to export a backup file and restore it on another device in order to have the same info on your iPhone that you have on your iPad and vise versa Having a user account that automatically updates via the cloud or wi fi sync is much more practical 3 Online Inputting As I said before this is a great app to input information about your future purchases but for items that you already have purchased it s kind of a nightmare Having to manually input everything on your phone ipad is difficult Being able to input everything online to your user account see above and being able to parse through electronic receipts would be a really nice feature to add 4 Electronic receipt parsing Being able to upload info directly from a receipt would make things super easy             Good concept needs more Krocky320

I ve been meaning to make an inventory of our house for years and even bought another application for my desktop But I never even managed to start this project in the past Voila Nest Egg has done the trick The app is motivating because it s so lovely to look at and quite pleasant to use In a few sessions I ve logged almost all rooms and most items of any value in this rambling old house Bonus points since I wanted attractive photos of the rooms a good deal of picking up got done in the process When I had a question about backing up I sent an email to support the reply was prompt and helpful I hope we never need to use this for insurance purposes but it s nice to know it s available if we do And after we re gone maybe our far flung offspring will find it helps them divide up or sell the belongings                     Easy fun PLUS useful Cassidy314

I appreciate that this app has nested subcategories for locations That is I can have a category Father s House with a subcategory Bedroom which in turn can have subcategories such as closet file cabinet etc I also like that I can take photos to represent any category or subcategory These features I have not seen in the other inventory apps I have tried It is all intuitive all of the features just work and you can backup and export without signing your data away to others such as insurance companies Top notch My compliments to the developers                     Awesome subcategories for rooms poly_sci

While the concept is great and as I read another reviewer say something to the effect that its a prepper s must have I am conflicted with how exactly I should use this app I am by no means an extremist in politics or end times beliefs But I know many people who might think this method of inventorying everything you own could come back to bite you That said I like the ease of use and organization but I don t want my info floating out there in cyberspace for any hacker or government agency to access should they feel the need Just my thoughts                 Great concept SoosyQ

This is the best app I ve found for inventory and I ve tried them all It has multiple methods of input that work flawlessly the ability to add a picture at every level and outstanding customer support The scanner and lookup feature work as designed and the manual input is easy and intuitive I emailed a question to customer support and got a response within hours on a Sunday My favorite feature is the ability to add multiple levels of subcategories You can see your items by category or location at the touch of a button I ve had no performance issues with this app and would recommend it without hesitation regardless of what type of inventory you are tracking Preppers check this one out                     The best I ve found Browndog01

I ve been searching for an app like this for a long time I ve found a few but this one tops them all I use it to keep up with items in my home for insurance purposes It has pretty much everything I could ever need I love that I can add items by barcode or manually The only thing extra I d like to have is a place to import a 2nd picture or either an extra field that let s me import my digitized copies of my purchase receipts Besides that this app is perfect for my needs So glad I stumbled across it                     Perfect Jendayi781

I have spent the last 2 hours entering items from our kitchen Once I entered a few items it was very easy I selected to back up but I am unsure where the back up went to This makes me concerned about how secure this app is In order to utilize this app 100 I suggest you take your time do one room at a time take photos of each item use measurements when describing art items be careful to record everything It can be very time consuming but to have a record of everything you own or as George Carlin has said your stuff It can be very satisfying it will give you a sense of comfort if you ever have the miss fortune to have everything destroyed by a storm or fire                     So far so good imnfstoy
