I m definitely happy with this purchase This app has very similar functions to other cognitive behavior therapy apps available however while it may not be as pretty or intuitively constructed it has an amazing and diverse list of resources available and doesn t have an outrageous monthly fee Further I like the way it allows you to reframe thinking patterns and then reevaluate your feelings in order to see the benefits immediately I can see myself continuously using this application to have more positive and stress free thoughts                     Amazing functionality Iheartcheesepuffs

I rarely take the time to write reviews but as both a mental health clinician and someone who suffers from major depressive disorder and anxiety I m so impressed by the practical utility of this app first in probing the myriad ways that chronic distress undermines our real world well being and second because of the myriad targeted concrete evidence based strategies it suggests to flip the tables and improve our moods through simple shifts in conscious thought action Also love the personal commitment framework as practical strategy for real life application Only quibble is that the daily mood thought journaling interfaces are clunky looking and not nearly as intuitive as a handful of otherwise mediocre shamelessly pricey mood tracking CBT apps on the market I also wished that this somehow integrated with iOS health app which I already use for diet activity tracking Were developers to redress those two issues I hesitate to speculate what I actually might pay for the result                     So thorough evidenced based Agent Orange Tabby

Update for the last few months I ve been using the thought checker nearly every day and I have noticed a change in how I respond to upsetting events so hey it works Overall I like this app The big weakness is that the mood tracker only lets you do one mood per day Also some of the journal questions come across as cheesy or annoying or just unhelpful However other ones are direct and helpful and I ve already created a couple templates of my own that I think will be useful I like the thought checker it s brief and convenient but also to the point I like having the long list of suggested feelings and the option to pick more than one and it s more convenient to have a list of distortions there rather than pulling out a piece of paper and having to go by memory when on the run I also appreciate that there s an option to say there s no distortion but still a better way of looking at things I ve only looked at a couple of the activities but the apparent variety is impressive And again the convenience factor is amazing                 Useful tool Flamingjellyfish

Im pursuing my MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Vanderbilt We had talked about mood tracking apps in one of my classes I decided to experiment with some in particular to work on personal issues with anxiety The Thought Checker is modeled on a standard CBT tool called a Thought Record It is extremely effective to be able to use this tool in the moment to balance distorted anxious thoughts and much more convenient than paper worksheets You can record your thoughts and feelings in a journal that could easily be shared with a mental health professional to facilitate the work you do in sessions It offers a pin code to protect your privacy Im just beginning to explore the other features but they seem to be icing on the cake This is a tool I will recommend to my clients in the future                 A Very Effective Mental Health Tool

The app is trustworthy and has a good interface I had tried other CBT apps and this is by far the best interface Ive used The idea of having a journal the CBT journals and other ideas combined is great I like having my mood in a single location in my phone There are some things in the app that could make it much better The way the activities are organized is not as useful as they could be I do not even know if having so many different activities will necessarily improve the mood of people It is something the app uses to boast but it is something I do not see myself using every day The CBT can be further improved by adding steps to the point where one is challenging the unhelpful thought The different thinking styles each affect the unhelpful thought differently and so simply demanding from the userpatient to Think without your thinking styles is not useful The app Pocket CBT does the step by step challenging successfully It would be great to have the app integrated into Apples Health app iOS 7 is here already and the developers could take advantage of this              Better than other CBT apps

I would highly recommend reading The Feeling Good Handbook as an accompaniment to this tool or at the very least read up on the basics of cognitive behavioral therapy CBT It will help put a lot of it in context That said even on its own its an excellent tool for therapy One of my biggest struggles was actually doing the work and capturing things as they occurred Having those tools in my pocket makes it convenient enough that I can do it any time I need to and so I have been and have benefited from it                 Excellent tool

This is more convenient than the cognitive therapy workbook I was thinking about getting and is easy to use Ive had it a couple days and Im enjoying it so far I like that its on my phone and therefor its always in my pocket so if Im stressing out over an issue I can pull it out and deal with the stress immediately To people around me it just looks like Im checking my phone playing a game or writing an email I feel better immediately after using the app and can go on with my day without getting bogged down with one incident ruining my day                 Worth the money

This app is great I really like the intuitive manner in which the app integrates cognitive behavioral therapy CBT methods I also like the mood tracking graph The most frequent tools I use are the journal which functions great on its own but also the CBT and mood graph Other features include physical emotional and social activity tips and suggestions that could be useful to elevate ones mood the app offers users the opportunity to commit to do certain activities which presumably motivates actionfollow through Some features Id like to see in future updates include 1 The ability to include photos some of my journal entries would be more substantive with this feature 2 The ability to createintegrate a timeline relative to the mood graph When reviewing my mood graph it would be helpful to see a 30 character label that corresponds with a sudden rise or fall of a mood such as Got a new car or Rained all day long 3 The ability to track multiple emotions simultaneously maybe this would invite excessive complexity but sometimes I might say Im a 7 on anxiety although Im a 9 on happiness and a 3 on enthusiasm Rolling everything up into just one mood has been challenging for me Perhaps users could choose to add additional emotions without the app requiring them Maybe this could be a paid feature Lastly Id like to point out that the app is only as useful as the user makes it if journals are inconsistent the mood tracking graph doesnt work as well and if the user doesnt commit to activities then the benefits cant be tracked andor realized In any case this app is really solid in its current state and has really helped me to maintain a realistic viewpoint Strongly recommended              Solid Up Coming App
