LDS History of the Church - Volumes 1-7 Complete Set

Nice to have in my phone                 Great app

This is a step back from the previous version Navigation and moving bookmarks are cumbersome Table of contents once you find them are of little help I appreciate the work gone into this but I spend more time trying to navigate than study Perhaps I should give it more time        User unfriendly

Just like the title says this app is great but with a broken search bar its much more difficult to use Maybe Im just lazy but Id like to find what I need when I need it                 Great but I need search

The app is ok It is a nice reference and the recent updates provide some nice features once you get familiar with them But there are some improvements that need to be made First page numbers are needed References in the DC are by page numbers so this is no help in working with the DC And that is for me the major reason why I purchased the app so it was quite a let down Moving between pages should also be easier It has potential I just wish they would have spent the last update providing page numbers instead of a book shelf look        Ok but needs improvement

When I open the app the volumes wont even download I emailed publisher of the app with no response So Im trying to figure out how much time will I spend trying to get my 699 back Dont buy it     RIP OFF ALERT

Needs page numbers so you can read along with Doctrine and covenants Thanks for adding ability to copy and paste           Needs Page Numbers

It is nice having the church history available It reads fine Highlighting doesnt work Bookmarks doesnt work If you are in the middle of a section and you leave the app when you come back it starts you at the beginning of the section It seems like a high price to pay for so many problems I will change my rating if these issues are fixed     Fidgety

So far I cant open it Shouldnt a list of contents to choose from appear on the library page I get no choices Ill keep working on figuring it out big do far not impressive

I purchased this with the intention of using it to compliment my study of the DC For example in the DC footnotes send me to DHC 1315 I open the app turn to section 1 and what NO PAGE NUMBERS If I am missing something please enlighten me I MUST be missing something right No way to find a specific page Good grief Looks like this app wont be used until at least the next update upgrade           Fine for reading Useless as a reference

Ive been waiting a long time for this Thank you so much for making our History of the Church volumes availble on the iPhone This is great I do have a few suggestions to make it even better Please add in Settings the ability to turn off landscape mode This will make it much easier to read while lying down Please add the ability to make notes within the app When you change the font size and then go to bookmarks it restores the font size back to default everytime Please add the ability to save the font size you have selected If you make these changes and add in these few features this app will be well on its way to being super great Youve got great content you just need to improve the way in which its presented Again thanks so much              FINALLY Church History on the iPhone

Great content great reading functions and features Highly reccomend this to anyone interested in church history and doctrine                 Love this app

As a resource it is virtually worthless There are no page numbers so any kind of reference is impossible unless you know a key word to use in a search BUT WAIT the search function does not work Tried searching for Christ in all the volumes and got ZERO results It goes without saying that any other words searched for resulted with nothing as well I guess it would be OK if you just wanted to read the volumes without any way to find any part you wanted to reference later because even bookmarking is in vain as those will be lost on any subsequent update Do yourself a favor and find yourself an alternate resource dont waste your money on this app     Not worth the money

This app doesnt work because the developer hasnt updated it as iOS has been updated My suggestion is that you dont purchase any of their apps because you dont know if they will maintain them     Ticked off

Did the IRS get a hold of this app and delete or lose it All I get is the black screen Please get someone to fix this NOW     App doesnt work

Love the content but highlighting underlining changing text color is buggy Some get saved when exiting some dont Some cant be changed like text color once exiting the app Would buy again but hoping the developers fix the bugginess           Worth it but buggy

The interface is nothing fancy but its effective The app appears to be stable and well layer out The content is everything it claims to be The apps main faulting is its search feature The search feature runs on the main thread which means the interface locks up while its searching The authors need to go back and rewrite this so its multithreaded then it will be usable              Decent app good interface good content

It is a great set when it works I tap on it and I get a black screen I close it Try again Same thing I hard close it Try to open again Same thing I delete it and download it again it may or may not work Once in a while it will come up Sometimes when I get a black screen I wait and it may open but usually it goes back to an app I then have to try to open it again If they can fix this problem it would be a great app I can only give it three stars because it is good but accessing it is the pits Please Fix           LDS History of the Church vol 17

3613 UPDATE I made the mistake of upgrading to 50 While there are some really nice new features the search simple does not work on either my iPhone 5 or my iPad 3 8210 UPDATE I was searching for something over the weekend and realized that the much needed Index is not available Also the search isnt very userfriendly no way to return to search results and the remember last location feature only remembers the chapter you were last reading in not WHERE in the chapter you were reading ORG Review I had lots of problems and crashes with the previous version on my iPhone 4 but this update seems to have fixed them all Last note Why when you first start it in the Library it says The Power of Moms Shouldnt it say Church History     Search Broken iPhone and iPad

I bought this due to the plethora of documents included within this App Unfortunately the App crashes every time I load it Correction it loaded when I opened it up after installation The developer Noah should do the right thing and fix these bugs I read the reviews not good before purchasing but thought I would be OK Wrong I operate Apple IOS v80 on my iPad I cant use it at present     Dan L

I can not go past the first page on any of the seven volumes And then when I try to exit I have more problems Help Now I can not submit my complained     Church History

How can I actually see the books It says it is finished but if have empty shelves Did I do something wrong     Having trouble

I saw this mentioned by someone else and I agree it is an awesome app but there needs to be page references to be able to cross reference with other works              Great but could be even better

I like this app but can be better if it could have the pages of the volumes so we can find the citations when reading other books              To be perfect

It would be helpful as a study aid if page numbers were provided The DC often refers to the History of the Church by volume and page number Cant seem to find an easy way to find the pages referred to because page numbers were cut off to scan document        Page numbering

This is one of my favorite apps I use it and refer to it and study from it all the time But ever since the update the search has not worked on my iPod Please fix the search because I use it very frequent              Love it

Finally apps like this are showing up I have been a very happy customer since buying this companys LDS Scriptures app 199 It replaced my 1500 app as my regular scripture reading app as I was always having syncing problems before Highlighting etc with this companys apps is the most reliable Thank You                 Finally

Not working under iOS 8        LDS History

It is great to have access to the full set of the History of the Church and the price is not bad for the amount of material however there are a lot of issues with the functionality of this app The search is incredibly slow because it does a full search with each letter typed the bookmarks will take you to the beginning of the chapter you were reading and it restarts to the beginning of the set every time you switch out of this app I would definitely appreciate improvements in these areas that make it much more difficult to enjoy the wealth of material available           Great content poor functionality

This history contains so much that I did not know about the church in its early days It is a testimony builder and by reading what the early saints did and sacrificed to help the church move forward is very inspiring and stregthening Great App Highly recommend this to everyone Thanks for the update i now get this on my iphone and ipad and only had to buy it once                 great church facts great app to have

Great content but cant use because poor function Very slow crashes Please fix Downloaded updates for Discourses History today 7910 Search still very slow highlighting still dont work Do I need to give up or is it going to get fixed You have several apps I would like to have but Im done until you get these fixed     Please update

I havent been able to use this app for almost a year now Each time I try to open it it goes blank Nothing to show I have tried everything from reinstalling to rebooting device iPad is up to date Please put this on top of your list of bugs and get this fixed right away     Dead app this is a ripoff

Why must it be so difficult to skip to the next page Virtually all apps make it possible to simply swipe a finger across the screen or tap to switch between pages but in this app theres only a small arrow to go back or forward on the top right side of then screen There is no copy and pasting feature which is really frustrating and I would love for the footnotes to be hotlinked so all I have to do is tap the footnote to see the reference but right now thats not an option either All in all a decent very basic app with lots of room for improvements I hope they happen since the company has lots of apps out they could do it for all their apps but who knows if itll happen or not Glad I got it on sale        Still needs polishing up

Lots to read in this app I dont know if Ill ever get through all the volumes but it is sure nice to have when sitting in church or meetings it is really great to open this book and read the words of the Prophet and Apostles from the early days of the Church Very informative spiritual and educational                 Great App Great Reading Features

When you are turning a series as important as this is into an app that you are going to charge people for the least you could do is make the transcription right This is absolutely full of textual errors and I am really disappointed that LatterDay sic Apps didnt take better care with that and the formatting           Disappointed

The search no longer works with iPhones update 402 Please remedy this quickly Thank You     Version 40 has a Problem with iPhone OS 402

This app may be a little clunky on older ipods but it is amazing that we can have all 7 volumes of this great work on a little ipod touch For those who think this is a money grab by the developer just try to develop a simple app yourself and see how easy it is not 499 is not a money grab I cant wait until the iPad version comes out Im assuming he will make an iPad version I will gladly pay another 499 for it as well easy money Thanks to the developer Journal of Discourses would be an awesome app as well Hint Hint     A lot of content for 499

Disappointed with this app Even though it appears to download properly when you try to open it the screen goes blank This has happened on 2 iphones 1 Ipad and 1 Ipad mini Until the developer fixes the problem I wouldnt waste any money on this purchase In fact if the app were free I wouldnt purchase it One thing I found worse is writing a review If you dont use a new nickname you have to rewrite your review     LDS History

I find it to be much more user friendly than the previous version Admittedly I didnt spend too much time in it before but everything is much easier on the eyes and having multiple windows to open one volume without loosing your place in the other is great I would love if you would add page s and make the links on the page take you down to the footnote It might be nice to have the menus stay on screen a little longer or until another single tap I find that I barely have time to decide and find which one I want before they disappear              Much improved
