James Beard Award-winner and Food & Wine Magazine Best New Chef John Sundstrom takes you on a culinary journey through the Pacific Northwest. His Seattle restaurant, Lark, is a beloved institution, and in this app, ...
Hopefully if youre buying a 10 app from a highend restaurant you know youre not getting a cookbook for home cooks The recipes are complex However something everyone SHOULD expect from a 10 app from a highend restaurant is quality which this app lacks The content is fine but the production values are on the floor Lark lacks a useful search feature and graphics a oft misaligned The very worst however is the lack of full Retina optimization which is inexplicable at this point Graphics look cheap and lowresolution rendered text is nearly unreadable Im a big fan of Lark and have always enjoyed eating there but if I could I would return this app        Uneven quality
As a longtime fan of chef John Sundstrom I have observed his evolution over the past dozen years John has outdone himself The cookbook app blows me away Every detail has been considered and the utilization of this digital medium to its fullest integrated glory shows that John and his cookbook production crew are a dream team Bravo                 The Future Has Arrived
Lark is one of my favorite restaurants and its great to be able to have such an easy to use cooking app to try out recipes from the restaurant Some of the dishes are intimidating but the instructions and slideshows are super helpful Its great to see the dishes every step along the way and not just the finished product Its just what the home cook needs Its also great to get insights into the philosophy and personality of the restaurant through the videos and writing about the seasons Its a high quality app that lives up to its pedigree                 Excellent for beginners and experienced cooks
I found out about this app through Kickstarter awhile ago My wife and I have been really looking forward to checking out ever since Now being a former chef myself Im not prone to using cook books or cooking apps so it takes something special to catch my attention My favorite part is the gorgeous slide shows illustrating to cooking process For people not overly familiar with certain techniques not everyone has trussed a whole chicken before they can be a real help They also nock down the intimidation factor a few notches as well My wifes favorite part is the shopping list feature Shes not big on writing things down with pen and paper so a digital list makes things quick and easy The seasonal breakdown interesting ingredient selections along with great photos make this app a great introduction to classic techniques and creative cooking for newbies and pros alike                 Kickstarted to Greatness
Alas Sundstrom and his team have made a glorious masterpiece on how to make bountiful foods so approachable and dare I say super fun in a format that finally shows you images of those steps in between Now I know how to smoke butter gorgeous image step by image step Thank you for you vision and passion in creating a true foodie image ecookbook                 Alas a Cookbook that knows how to use Tech
Im extremely proud to finally have the Lark cook book on my iPad The Lark Cook Book was started as a Kickstarter Project and I am one of its backers While the Lark is also available as a gorgeous hardcover book I opted for the iPad version During the production process we were invited to see the videos and give comments Waiting to see it come to fruition was an extremely exciting process The hardcover version was released ahead of the iPad version and we all waited with great anticipation would the iPad version be as good ad the hardcover book I can tell you that I think it is Its a gorgeous done app with information about the Pacific Northwest seasonal food and with 144 seasonal recipes not 200 as another reviewer mistakenly mentioned If you expect this to be a cook book about how to prepare slowcooker meals under the 5 or how to prepare your average home cooked meal than this is not the app for you These are the authentic recipes John prepares and serves in his restaurant the Lark in Seattle So if you are open to a cooking adventure you will be happily surprised The recipes are easy to follow the ingredients list can be checked off and put on the shopping list and be emailed to anyone doing grocery shopping this week Beautiful photos will guide you step by step through the cooking process This app is meant to be used in the kitchen John loves to cook with local in season ingredients and this makes it for me a very exciting and interesting bookapp Being originally from Europe I never knew how to go razor clamming let alone how to prep and prepare them Now I do and will certainly go foraging my own food these coming months I highly recommend this app to any foodie out here This will also make a beautiful gift for that special foodie in your life                 Exquisite cookbook
I love the app the recipes are very nicely and clearly detailed Photos are gorgeous too However when purchasing as per the description I thought it contained 144 recipes I counted only 75 Am I missing something perhaps a link to the other recipes This is why I only gave it 4 stars              Gorgeous But Not 144 Recipes
The app includes far less than the 200 recipes mentioned in the blurb The recipes are complex and more appealing as visuals than as actual cooking projects There is no way to print or email the ingredients and the directions I suppose you have to use the iPad while cooking Its too expensive for what you get from it        Beautiful pictures esoteric recipes
