KUT 90.5 Music, News, & NPR from Austin, Texas

I had no problems at all Fired right up began streaming immediately and I have been listening for about 45 minutes now without interruption I am also on my residential WiFi                 Does what is says

We miss you in San Angelo so very very much I recently purchased the iPhone and discovered I can still listen to KUT That does not make up for hours of listening on my car radio as I go about my business but it does let me carry KUT around in my shirt pocket I plan on taking KUT on the iPhone with me to China next month I cant wait to hear their reaction to our wonderful open and public radio from Austin Texas Thanks again                 Wonderful News

The alarm only works if you turn autolock off Overnight that uses too much energy Can you make it work even when screen goes black              Alarm needs tweaking

The original version was great the streaming was good even with a low signal and the update has useful added features including the rare one among iPhone apps background streaming                 Love it

Too bad this app doesnt work please fix it If as others have suggested you designed the app to not work unless the insurance company logo is visible then what a black eye for the most trusted station in Central Texas     Bummer

Stops playing after about 30 seconds even if Im not doing anything else     Fail

Dont know what you did with the update but the volume is way too low     Cant hear it

Great radio station but most radio apps run in the background This one needs that functionality           Great radio station

Worked great for months and loved it until after the latest OS update and now constantly freezes     Freezes Every 5 minutes

Same issue as everyone else I now use the NPR app for KUT streaming     Me

The app does its job of streaming KUT 1 2 and 3 just fine but it needs to be updated to accommodate airplay and multitasking Right now it will only play if the app remains open Also the alarm feature did not work for me the alarm interface is also not intuitive it should just use the standard Apple UI        Multitasking Airplay

The only change in this version is artwork So why is iOS 5 required     iOS 5

I love KUT and love being able to stream its 3 stations on this app but this app fails to run in the background FAIL When this is made possible I will updateupgrade my rating to 5 stars     Doesnt run in background

Fix the alarm bug and for god sake make it play in the background Will bump up rating after that happens     Love the station Hate the app

KUT was extolling the virtues of their new app this morning I just want the old one back where the streaming worked     Hate the new improved app

Finally fixed so it continues to play when the screen blanks out Even better it now continues to play when you switch apps Awesome app again thanks KUT Note you have to either go back into the app to stop it playing or kill the app through iOS              Yeah

I gave the old version a 4 and would have given it a five later when they improved it This version is a complete failure As many have noted it stops playing after about 30 seconds need to get that fixed pronto     Changing my rating

Appreciate the reviews below I am now streaming kut with the NPR app which supports full background streaming Much better           Not bad but streaming with NPR app is better

Thats a shame I hope the bug can be fixed soon     Yep it closes when your phone sleeps

I like to listen to Morning Edition while moving around the house before my wife is awake but KUTs FM broadcast signal is too spotty in my house for my portable Sony FM radio The solutionthe KUT app for my iPhone streaming over my wifiwould be perfect except that at irregular intervals the stream just quits Sometimes the reason for the dropout is that Ive wandered out of wifi range in which case the app reports a problem Often however when the audio quits the app still says You are listening to KUT News 905 FM Occasionally when this happens the audio resumes spontaneously but usually I have to restart it and listen to the Support for KUT message yet again Whether the fault is with the app or with the KUT stream I dont know but this Leadership Circle member expects better           Flaky

The app works fine for me to play music and news but its doing something even when in the background that will drain my battery during one day Killing the app after each use stops at least the background usage        drains my battery

They added the ability to listen to the app in the background I also really like the KUT 2 option                 Listen to this app for hours every day

No schedule of shows no podcasts of individual shows eg Left of the Dial Horizontes World Music Show Meh Take a look at KCRWFMs app to see how a public radio station with great music programming does it And let me know when you get these shows available or at least have a schedule and a reminder feature     Needs work not up to standard

This simple app fulfills a basic requirement but needs multitasking currently playing and schedules to be great           Good but needs to be better

Ive been using San Antonios app instead KSTX Its much better     Buggier than a swamp

Every time I want to listen to KUT I also have to hear support for KUT blah blah blah           Repetitive message

Cant get it to cut off when Im done listening I have to turn my phone off Unusable     No stop button

New safari integration allows you to listen as you do other things Excellent way to hear my favorite radio stations                 Nice app

When a duespaying supporter has to listen to NYC Morning Edition cuz her I local station has messed up their app so much Id really rather get the local weather and news     Its pretty bad

Excited to have this app and the idea of an alarm but it hA failed to go off           Alarm doesnt work

I love getting my kut audio fix but I havent been able to get the app to work since upgrading to iOS 7 please help this faraway Austinite listen to a taste of home        Audio no longer working with iOS 7

This app literally freezes every 10 minutes and has to be restarted I use wifi and it has a lot of trouble streaming Its so annoying that I am writing my first ever app review        Freezes constantly

This app is not for everyone but KUT from Austin TX is in my biased opinion one of the best public radio stations I know because Ive used one of the public radio apps to preview some of them NPR please come back to San Angelo TX you never know how great something is until its gone                 KUT

Unfortunately this update is still unusable While KUT is my favorite radio station I cant listen to it using this app It continues to quit with in a minute of streaming While the old version didnt allow streaming in the background at least I could listen without it constantly crashing This is frustrating     Still crashes quickly

Im lucky I live within range of their FM transmission This app is now total junk     Used to be great Now worthless

The previous version wasnt written properly to run background audio on iOS instead it uses safari which means you couldnt surf Now this NEW version NEVER stops playing Im out of the app and it is still playing but theres no audio playing icon like you see on iPhone apps when audio is backgrounded How do I kill this app Who needs to be fired     Now it never stops playing

I love being able to listen to KUT2 on the move without having to buy an HD radio but this app has a serious bug For the first 3060 second after starting the app brings up a You must be connected to the network dialog the problem happens on 3G or Edge the app works fine on WiFi This is more maddening than it perhaps sounds I want to hop in my car turn the app on and start driving Instead I have to fiddle with it as Im driving down the road           fix the startup bug and the app will be great

This is a most excellent application This is so easy and a snap if you are in particular a KUT fan Stitcher is a great app but if you want to hear the latest headlining news KUT style with the push of a button then this app is for you The backgrounding feature is absolutely awesome as well Not many other news apps can boast this functionality Sweet The fact that its free makes it must have                 Great Excellent

Have the same problem as the other reviewers with it stopping after about fifteen seconds     Needs fixin
