Pros Bluetooth keyboard support Syntax highlight Snippets Cons Its not easy or at least obvious to start a local projects on iPad and then upload it to Dropbox or vice versa No Github support as of the reviews date              Good editor lacking some infrustructure features though

Finally i found a good code editor on the iPad                 Closed perfect

Only uses SSH secure FTP not everyday FTP with a simple password and so I cant access my web server like I can with Textastic which also has hints and Firebug and runs my complex jQuery Mobile page with BabylonJS 3D rendering        Broken on purpose

Im on iOS 8 and I generally like the app It is very helpful for code editing and ftp uploads The ssh terminal is great except for whenever I run a script it doesnt seem to exit properly The scripts still do their job but you must then exit the terminal to run any more commands           Ssh needs work

it does not work well with the new update        this app crashes with the iOS 7

I have the new Coda Textastic Writer 1Writer Elements Nebulous notes iawriter This is the app I use most frequently to to edit code and markdown in Dropbox It is largely bug free has excellent Dropbox support and the editor is capable but very simple to use The simplicity of the interface is a delight compared to some other apps without compromising functionality The only thing missing is an easier way to add ssh key for Sftp and ssh connections Otherwise this app is a gem I highly recommend this under appreciated editor                 Best editor for markdown and code for Dropbox

I was looking forward to this app but very disappointed Currently mostly useless for me Im a Ruby user and codecompletion doesnt work as expected Even the basic keywords are not there but just Rails stuff When you enter end for a block closure it goes into an endless loop of autocomplete and cant enter new line I guess I can turn off all the bells whistles and just use as a plain text editor with little syntax highlighting        Disappointed Ruby

Just frustrating FTP not working at all Tried all combinations ftp or just ftp and still nothing On the other side FtpOnTheGo works fine on my Ipad 2 with the same ftp configuration even with a crap connection How long to fix this     FTP not working

Everything works great I would like to see a readonly mode and a fullscreen mode so that code can be browsed easily without wasting screen space on editing and navigation tools I use this on an iPhone only for looking at code not for writing              Very Nice

hope i can get money back useless cannot create file or get going on ipad air and crashing trying to get started     crashes unusable

Looks like its a very nice app However and perhaps because of IOS7 some fundamental things are not working Example once a connection is created it cannot be modified or deleted        Could be Nice

At least they got open in working solution first create a project in the app kind of Slow etc do not recommend until author decides to realize who his audience is Unfortunately he only forces us to compete with him and so I shall unless I get a refund or you listen to your customers and make a patch or go open source Did I mention he forgot to color C header files Fail Ill make my implementation better and open source and FREE and BETTER Epitome of ObjC developer ego blindness reeks all over in this horrifying app experience     Oversight

This app does not work as intended Text renders unreasonably slow when connecting to Dropbox or SFTP Using an external keyboard which I consider a must for editingcoding causes random extra line breaks when hitting enter or other similar actions I spent some time perusing their support forums and found ALL of the described issues posted months ago Their tech support team responds without any tact or seemingly knowledge of their own app I cannot comprehend how all of the app reviewers listed in the app description missed these truly fatal errors Please save yourself the money and purchase a better app for your coding needs     DO NOT BUY

This is of no value to me     Cannot connect to ftp without crashing so it is useless

I cant seem to figure out how to enter my Dropbox credentials In the settings there is no mention of Dropbox When I try to open in it doesnt the app doesnt show up for htm files It does for txt but then I cant work out how to pick a local destination for the file The only button available is cancel I think Maybe this will be fixed with an iOS7 update I dont know It doesnt seem like an OS issue        Looks great but

Ive used a few of the competitors and this is probably the best for non Vim web development The editor is decent the file explorer works well Overall I like Koder this kind of app is definitely not easy to pull off Im willing to put up with some of the issues because unlike the competitors this app gets updated frequently Thats a big deal for me some of the competitors havent been updated for over 6 months That said there are a few bugs missing features to look out for Importing SSH keys can be a little wonky It doesnt actually move it into the ftp folder when you import it from the app so you shouldnt delete it from the file explorer in iTunes when youre done The terminal sort of works It doesnt run in the background eg you can either be editing or playing in the terminal and it misinterprets some of the characters it gets back eg I tried to run a Node REPL on a remote server and all the feedback looked like junk No auto saving if the app crashes and it does sometimes when editing remote files you can lose all of your changes Save often No support for physical keyboard short cuts like copy and paste              Best Web IDE for iPad

Cant find many others like this in the app store and this runs quite a few languages Only complaint was that the dropbox made no sense and it was unstable but both problems seem to be fixed in the update Thank you dev so much for putting more work into this                 Best Ive seen here

I purchased this app to manage a student organization website and although I can connect using other free apps like FTP Manager but each time I try and connect over SFTP I get a failure to connect message using Koder I looked around online to see if I could locate a fix but ultimately gave up I would recommend that you steer clear of Koder for now and maybe try a different app I wish I could get my money back This basically turned into a waste of 6 since I cant connect at all     Doesnt Function Well

I like being able to edit directly on the server and the project organization is nice It has crashed once but so have the other ides ive looked at Would be great if I could sync ftpsftp connections between iphone and ipad via icloud              Best dev ide for iphone so far

VERY BIG PROBLEM When preview the html it doesnt show as in pc I need the design in pixels and it doesnt even show the spaces or complete web design The browser should be excactly as firefox     Update please

Is that possible to support Git or SVN later That will be really useful              Version control

I have been a Textastic user for nearly a year I decided to switch simply because I did not want to pay for another copy of Textastic for my iPhone Since Koder is a dual app I switched and for less than the cost of Textastic for iPhone I gotta say I just love the workflow of this app I can work with live files or download them for later and upload once the changes are complete                 Love It

This app is for managing a whole project You must create projects via the app in order to view them Theres no way to view a single file in Dropbox or something I tried to open a file in this app from Dropbox and it only allowed me to import it into a existed project     What if I just want a simple code editor

No settings panel to configure DropBox or local file paths Cant open files from Dropbox either No help anywhere Looks useless if you dont already know how to use it     Cant configure anything

I personally think this app is great and its design is awesome Though I have one issue I cant seem to run my codes in it This is not because the app is bad but because I dont know how to navigate through it Ive tried C and Java but couldnt run them Please can anyone help me Thanks                 Great Please Help

This app is really really good It has great syntax highlighting local file support connects with FTP it does everything I need it to Absolutely worth it                 Excellent app

In the Image Help the instructions use numbered arrows to indicate how to get a file into the app None of it works Create new Project ok name number 5 in the instructional image is next ok Connect to Dropbox never appears and does not respond other than switching the name in the top of the menu area manually downloaded the file local from Dropbox to a common folder Open In Koder presents a dialog for destination my project was listed and I selected it The interface collapsed to inactive I activate the app no file Repeated attempts fail as well No connectivity no file import Poor documentation I was robbed of 599 and I want my money back     I was robbed of 599 and I want my money back

This update is awesome as I have a wireless apple keyboard to use with my iPad mini but some of my files like my html apps are made just for iPhone so I code the web apps on my iPhone and hate using the onscreen keyboard its to small for coding and I type slower with it so the support for the keyboard on iPhone is a great feature Looking forward to future updates Happy Coding              Version 212 update is Awesome

Maybe its just me but the extra row of keyboard buttons are really big Inserting snippets didnt work kept getting the mark a location to insert message including firebug and prompt ssh were the only appealing features but Textastic is much much more suited to my needs        Good but could be better

Great app that lets me practice my coding for classes does wonders for onthego coding Developer is swift in fixing issues with the app love the attention to this makes the purchase more worthwhile Thanks again for fixing the 61 issues                 Works Now w61 on IPad

I cant delete files on file sharing but I can select or deselect so 4 star              Everything is good except 1 thing

Below is my first review I decided to open it up again and give it one more try Big mistake All of the same problems exist Developers obliviously are not interested in building solid products Just cool looking ones Do not buy This app looks like it could be good but it just has too many problems to be a serious choice right now It frequently closes unexpectedly and loses all of your work The undo function rarely works and usually just crashes the app It also is VERY sluggish and slow I could probably deal with the other bugs but it is truly annoying to work on when you have to wait 510 seconds between simple tasks like switching between two files It looks like the developers spent too much energy on the look and feel of the app which is great btw but not enough time on building a reliable solid product Not a good bet right now wait for them to get their act together     Do not buy

Love this little app BUT you have got to fix this crash issue When viewing the page in the viewer it crashes the entire app as soon as you hit the X to close the viewer A little more instructions CSS files arent linking to html correctly Change that and Ill go 5 stars           Love it BUT

Looks great but syntax highlighting makes it unusable for me This is just my experience but the syntax highlighting on js files is terrible I had a statement that the highlighter wasnt picking up properly and so it was matching up the string quotes improperly No big deal there was an easy way to reorder the operation so that it was picked up Making that changed fixed the highlighting on that line but all the lines after it still had the strings marked incorrectly I had to one by one delete and retype one single quote per pair for the highlighting to pick up the change Closing and reopening did not fix it either Nothing worse in coding than having a syntax highlighter that draws your attention to all the wrong places Once this is fixed Id be glad to come back but for now Id prefer the notes app to this        Syntax Highlighting is Terrible

This is a neat IDE for any language The ability to pull files right from my server and work on them is wonderful and the support for many languages is awesome Definitely useful on both iPhone and iPad Not bad to look at either                 Great IDE

There are a lot of areas where this app can be improved An iOS 7 update is really desired I wish updates would be released quicker Makes me wonder if theyre really committed to further improve the app I may switch to a different app           Needs attention

I tried a free app that was horrible I was about to pay for Textastic when I found this app After first downloading I was a little confused I had all the code in Dropbox It turns out a project in the Dropbox section is basically a connection to your account The UI could be a little smoother but it does look great Speed is good except for when opening and closing files That could be because Im working on Dropbox IDK Other things that are needed spell check for comments and a bigger viewing area Remove the status bar that takes up too much room Also make the extra set of keys shorter The only thing I really wish for is Google Drive support since storage is cheaper there Overall this app is great for my needs but a few other things would be nice                 Worth the money

Every few months I look into other code editors for iPad and I keep coming back to Koder The features combined with the continuous support make it the best around for me              Love Koder
