I don t understand why a company that really knows how to build a children s app would put out an inferior app like this The story excerpted from Rudyard Kipling s famous book is fine short but good however when kids expect an interactive story they touch the screen a lot Even adults do that when they re testing out an app Well if you do that during The Jungle Book what happens is you suspend the narration and prematurely turn the page Even more confusing the app seems to prompt you to do something as each page is turned yet it s never clear what you re supposed to do The prompt is an arrow curving from right to left over an arrow curving left to right It appears to suggest you trace a circle on the page yet doing so has either no effect or the undesirable one mentioned above It may be only meant to say you can turn pages either way But if you share this with a child you ll need to restrain their little hands until the page s narration is finished Then they can explore and find the one two or sometimes three meager little movements they can provoke by tapping the screen but all of them turn out to be disappointing In a field where competition is raging releasing a book like this makes very little sense These days if you re going to call a book interactive those interactions had better offer up at least a small measure of enchantment There are none whatsoever in The Jungle Book Only the story itself which might have been better with no interactions invited         Good story with VERY little interaction MakeGrandmaHappy
