The sound is really quite nice I would like to learn more about fm synthesis I have a tx81Z but havent delved much into it The interface replicates vintage FM synths which isnt really a problem So that part seems okay as well Im mostly confused by the ADSR whereby values mean the opposite of what they should be For instance attack of 00 is long but attack value of 31 is short On the synth edit page youll find bars for adjusting attack and release Moving them up shortens their values and moving them down does the opposite Having worked with many synths this is really counterintuitive Im not as familiar with fm synthesis so maybe thats just the way they are but I doubt it Poor documentation in English currently For developers please change wording of triangles to rectangles or squares in your manual              So far it seems nice

It is cool I DO need to read the manual though as it is unfamiliar to navigate around and delve into Is there midi I will say this these explorations in haptics and GUI are to be recognized as great efforts BUT simplicity accessibility and nobrainer workflows are taking a backseat to all this experimentation           We will see

This app had a lot of potential unfortunately the developer though it was nice to drop support for it so none of the current iOS music technologies like MIDI audio copypaste Audiobus Inter App Audio etc are available This app is only useful if you connect the audio out to a recorder If you want FM type sounds on your iPad and want the app to integrate with your setup you are better off with DXi TF7 and Thor     Buyers Beware

This seems to be a very complicated but well designed retro synth app simulating the ym2151 chip found in many older arcade games video game systems and various home computers It is something that thought I would never see after experiencing the many music based apps on the store If you want an example what kind of music this app represents check on the internet for some demos or play some older arcade games or on MAME Many of these songs can range from the experimental to the truly epic However the iYM2151 app is not for casual users The iYM2151 app is rock solid and hasnt crashed once since installation It is possibly aimed at for those who already know what they are getting themselves into or possibly for those who have experience with tracker software including the ones that are on this app store However without things like a tutorial for new users or even MIDIWIST support Even soundclould support would keep some interested as they try to figure the workings of the app This is potentially going to turn people off once they find out how much of a learning curve exists on this app and may never actually use it much afterward So this app needs ONE A tutorial for those new to programming a synth like this one TWO Soundcloud support THREE WiST or MIDI support FOUR A contact support channel via email There is no way to communicate to Detune or to the creator of the app about requests or bug fixes THREE STARS           A great emulation of a retro synthesizer However
