iOptiCut - cutting optimizer for iPhone - Defines how to cut rectangular pieces from wood, glass, ceramic, metal, drywall or veneer panels, etc with minimal waste of material. The most of cutting tasks have to ...
When trying to put my measurements in inches and fractions it wont let me it would be great if you guys could fix that this app is essential to me i know for many people also                     Bugs on last update Piyei420
I couldn t get the app to work I tried contacting the developer and the link they had to submit a message to them was invalid Nine bucks straight down the toilet     Waste Pookydot
App allows you to create new project and enter piece dimensions That s it It does not have the draw icons at the bottom of iPhone screen as shown Absolutely would like my money back 8 99 when what I get is essentially a list of the cuts I have already had on paper and a waste of 20 minutes Could be a really useful app if it at all functioned correctly     Does not function properly ParkerTMiller
Just tried the app after this most recent update and was immediately confronted with a bug On an iPad in landscape mode and selecting fraction input to create an item the measurement selection is completely buggy and non responsive at times It also fails to show the selected values correctly due to input field corruption by previous value How can something this significant and obvious at the starting point be missed Seriously test your products more thoroughly before releasing them to the public     Really Mr. RAZ
Works well for smaller jobs but wish we could enter shapes somehow Gets stuck on large jobs 2000 pcs just spins its wheels for a long time Tried letting it run for multiple hours once just to see if it would eventually kick out the nest It never did It also needs a better method to print out the nest Doesn t print out so well in fact its a PITA             Works well for small jobs Dus10r
Though the built in example works I can t enter parts for a new item project There seems to be no interface element to do this no way I can find and I wasted a lot of time looking No manual Maybe it is because of iOS 8     Can I get a refund maitri1
If you like instructions on how to use an app this is not for you Sure some of the interface is iPad standard but much is not This is un intuitive in the extreme When you enter cut pieces that do not fit onto your board stock they simply don t show up There is no warning or message that they are not on the cutting diagram Also I liked the idea of emailing a cutting diagram to export it since I don t have a printer that works with my ipad But I selected inches as my unit of measure but no matter what it emails in millimeters or something When I emailed support they asked me again what the problem was I emailed again and no response This app is not ready for sale     Doesn t seem to be a finished app LarryKat
This app saved me a bunch of time figuring out the best way to cut 25 pieces out of 5 sheets of plywood and there s nothing else out there like this so I can t complain This is more of a suggestion I wanted to print the layouts for use in the shop but when I emailed the files it changed the measurements from inches to millimeters and the layouts looked completely different Also the files came through as xml files which are not easy to save or print at least for me Definitely some bugginess in the export function or there s a preference setting I couldn t find                 Suggestion Bit Jockey
Print the names of items on the pieces in the Draw view Allow rotation and resizing of Draw view Otherwise it works well I don t understand the method choices though Some documentation would help                 Suggestion for update donricardo
Thanks for the email bug fix There have been several updates since my original poor review over a year ago I have been using this program a lot and have been very satisfied Very intuitive program Customer service is great too I would love to see an option to save as PDF so I could keep the file in my iBooks and maybe a tutorial about the pros and cons of the different cut patterns Other than that I love using this program I am a General Contractor and Furniture Cabinet maker                 Thanks Daniel The Destroyer
I m a carpenter and frequently want to get the most cuts out of a piece of plywood as possible with the least amount of waste This app helps you make your cuts to maximize yield and minimize waste and it does a passable job of it Previous versions were woefully inadequate with many bugs and shortcomings I m happy to say that the latest version xes the worst of the problems The result is an app l have actually been using in the shop Let s look at the improvements First the app no longer rounds off your measurements If you input 2 875 and those of us forced to use inches enter ridiculous measurements like this all the time the app no longer turns it into 2 87 It leaves your measurements just as you entered them and that s good Second the app now lets your pieces over ow onto more than one sheet of material So if your cuts don t t on the rst sheet the app automatically adds enough sheets to t a big improvement And you can specify different sheet sizes for different jobs which is a nice touch Third the diagrams have gotten much better The type size for the dimensions is now large enough that you can actually read it A few problems remain The app still gives you 7 different options for cutting the sheet down labelled confusingly Meth W Meth E etc with no clue what these stand for Switching between the different cutting methods is cumbersome and counterintui ve And many times the different options aren t different at all they might tell you to cut down the sheet the exact same way So why offer 7 options in those cases when they re all the same A related problem sometimes one of the options gives you substantially better yield than the others but you need to annoyingly page through all 7 options to sniff it out Why doesn t the app show the best method first and simply discard the others Again the app makes you jump through hoops that aren t necessary and waste your time doing so The app should be saving your time not wasting it Also it s a bit dif cult to nd the option pane for specifying board size and kerf width It s the arrow next to the job name it isn t immediately obvious that clicking the arrow is different from clicking the job name That could be made clearer But setting those issues aside this is now a useful app It can de nitely use some tweaks for user friendliness I suspect that after a few more versions for a little more polish this will be an app that I ll enjoy using every day                 Latest version is a major improvement skyfein
What a complete rip off I WANT MY MONEY BACK YOU THIVES This app doesn t do anything resembling what it says it will Fix it or remove it from the app store     Piece Of Crap MaxCabMan
I m looking for the next upgrade The current version will only let you layout one sheet yep that s it 1 Also you can t read the numbers for cutting material I m looking forward to giving a better review but at this time I can only say this app is a good idea not a good product     J fitter J Pipefitter
