iBird Explorer PRO

I have been using this app for a few years It is my most used app If you are an avid bird watcher this is the app to have It is a pleasure to use and is updated on a regular basis The only other app I would use is the Ultimate version which has added features that help identify birds in the location where the app is being used by the use of the GPS chip in your device The version I have has many features that make bird watching a pleasure                 IBird Pro

The photos and information are great The sounds are very helpful The search function is poor though If you could search by type eg waterfowl raptor etc it would be much more user friendly                 Great photos

This is an awesome app The best of its kind in my opinion I use it a lot in my photography to call birds in closer Works very well I get very close shots of the birds Works best in the spring for getting them in close                 I Bird Pro

My husband installed on my IPad several years ago Absolutely love love using to identify my fine feathered friends One afternoon sat out on back deck and played the call of chickadee and much to my and my husbands surprise a mother and her fledgling landed on the phonecable only about 3 feet from where we were sitting Also had a interesting observation with nuthatch Nuthatch became very vocal and seemed agitated Perhaps it was territorial So I realized best not to use to call all birds as could affect the natural balance of attracting birds Think feeding birds best way                 Wonderful App

We have many bird feeders around the yard and my almost 5 2 12 year old grandsons love to point out a bird and ask me to play its song I love looking up newcomers listening to their songs My daughter correctly IDd the song of the early bird waking her up over their 4th of July weekend visit A hit with the whole family Thanks              Grandkids Love It

I love this app Anytime I hear or see a bird on a point count that Im not 100 sure about I can look it up at the end of the count Much better than carrying a heavy field guide that doesnt have songscalls                 Great app for point counts

I love this app It is fun to browse easy to identify birds and cool that I can mark my favorites and then review the set of my favorites The info on each bird is great I do wish though that it included my own bird a golden mantel rosella Its not such a rare bird for Australia anyway                 Perfect for Me

This is a decent birding guide However it is unfortunate that companion applications are so expensive In particular the journaling application is as expensive as the field guide So I would advise that you make yourself aware of what you want the application to do before you commit to this Field guide Or be prepared to spend 2830 for the complete set up           Okay but lacking in features

iBird Pro is worth every penny I got it on sale but gladly would have paid full price There are so many birds on this app and they keep adding more species with updates The photos are clear as well as the illustrations Extensive detailed information and an easy to read format Breeding information nest information and plumage information as well as migration information its all here A great app to have when youre out in the field and do not want to carry a book The sounds are wonderful and there are many sounds for each bird Great for birdwatchers as well as children that just want to learn about birds Five stars acrosstheboard                 Best bird app around

I knew Id seen a hawk and put in hawk to get a list of all hawks to browse through it said no matches I can find anything I already know the name of but have rarely identified something new without browsing through all bird thumbnails Im a lawyer computer literate and research through search engines all the time but this one often leaves me empty handed           Hard to browse

This is not a replacement for having any of the fine paper field guides but is easier to carry The search feature takes some practice using if you are used to thumbing through a book The addition of sounds is something a book cant replicate While I may not always have a birding field guide with me Ill always have my iPhone with iBird giving me a chance to ID a new bird              Worth buying
