HanDBase Database Manager

Ive been using this app for a long time and it serves me well I have a number of databases that I use frequently and this really helps me keep track of a lot of things If you are not familiar with using databases this app could be a little intimidating at first But if you have created and used databases before then youll be impressed with all of the capabilities They have made this a great app                 Great app

This is the simplest database management system thats out on the market you can create small databases you can create large databases Security is paramount on the app itself where you can create a very strong password and also keep passwords safe This is not your ordinary database for things to do our shopping lists this is an intricate database to record any and all important documents                 Best Db Manager

Been using HB for years on different platforms and still love it Developed a simple app to track my weight each morning and use it every day Made another to check my mileage when I fill the tank but of course who can fill their tank on Long Island these days Would love to see iTunes backup conduit as others have mentioned but when I upgraded iPhones iCloud was able to perfectly restore every last bit of HanDBase data                 Powerful useful

Ive used this app since my Palm Handspring days and on every PDAphone platform since The speed and utility built into HanDBase is unmatched by any of the DB options costing less than 50 The only thing that would best it would be FileMaker and I havent decided to drop hundreds of dollars on the Mac application for that the mobile app for FileMaker requires a desktop installation to do anything useful so I cant speak to any comparisons between the two of them In all fairness Filemaker is a business app where HanDBase is more of a consumer app with some business applicability To give an example of the power of HanDBase I built an asset tracking HanDBase database that mimicked our companys St Croix Systems Asset Manager in ALL its major functions including but not limited to asset records service records part inventory parts usage ordering PM scheduling procedures I used this for years as a notepad to record my time at work instead of using the slow limited mobile app provided by St Croix Systems My HanDBase Asset Manager DB was recently retired when our company went to Four Seasons TMSPro which is web based and which I can run directly from my phone or ipad However I still use HanDBase extensively at work for its speed For example I can dump a complete table of our parts in TMSPro to Excel over 9700 parts do a save to a CSV file then create a HanDBase DB by importing the CSV This gives me a mobile parts list that I can access locating ANY parts as fast as I can type in a search Instant response no lag or search time Much better as a tool than the much clumsier slower internet access into TMSPro Thus I still use HanDBase to speed up my work even though I have complete access to our company DB through my phone or pad Other uses include tracking all information for my pool leagues and a NASCAR Fantasy League that I host This app is by far the most used app that I own                 Nothing else even comes close

Very intuitive its actually really fun to design HanDBase databases from an iPhone Been using HanDBase for years and I must say Ive never come across a company that puts their customers first to the extent that DDH Software does The quality of support offered by Dave and Brian in the HanDBase forums just doesnt exist anywhere else                 Great app and great developers

I have quite a bit of experience with FileMaker and some experience with Access and am finding that HanDBase is the perfect program for quickly creating relatively simple databases for use in my business                 Handy App

Ive used this app for at least 45 years Its allowed me to track everything I need for my business I can track my locations for every new record presentations sales new and existing contacts and more I love that it allows me to create filters based on my needs like if Im looking for a contact between certain dates or if I need to look up an area I worked I can specify that in a filter and just those will pop up Of course you can download some existing templates or create your own I chose to create my own so it fit my needs and I love it I do think it would be great if HandBase developers would include the ability to add voice recordings                 Love this App for tracking my business sales and production

I used this app on a Palm device several years ago and loved it I discovered about six months ago that it was now available as an Iphone app It was great before and even better now Databases are so easy to set up I have a couple of dozen which I use regularly It synchs easily via a conduit that I purchased with my Windows version And the technical support is outstanding I jighly recommend this app                 Pleasant Discovery

The app itself is good with all the field options one could need BUT until the developer figures out how to store the data in the cloud so it can be shared between iPhone and iPad seamlessly its a mediocre app I asked him about this and he said most of the apps users are in the medical field and so HIPAA regs are an issue Seems there should be a workaround to this though Too bad such a good app falls down on this issue so badly        Archaic

Use it every day robust and adaptable Has features only a geek can appreciate but accessible to the rest of us One nifty feature is including a photo in a record However Ive yet to find how to zoom in to seeread details in the photo with in the app Another is including location in a record handy but sometimes inaccurate Likely a hardware issue              Close to perfect

What a joke These reviews cant be serious The form editor is not useable and the app is generally too inflexible despite having a confusing array of poorly thought through options Can someone please make a decent database app     Unusable interface

I have been using this since the days of the Palm Pilot and I love it I have 20 databases that I use constantly I have the Windows Desktop iPad and iPhone apps Support is FANTASTIC Brian took me through setting up my new iPhone and iPad stepbystep and responded to my emails immediately Thanks                 GREAT app support

This does not work with current access database and you must buy additional app worth 40us to import access file     Consider carefully before buying

Ive been looking for a database program for a long time but none of them did quite what I wanted I admit Im not a power user my needs are fairly simple but I AM picky and HanDBase along with its desktop companion is easy to use and does the job well                 Yes

Because they havent taken the time to update things even to iPhone 5 screen resolutions and certainly not to iPad retina resolutions the database is looking bad on those screens Never mind the iPhone 6 plus If you try to create a form on a windows computer win 8 not listed as a supported system even after all this time then try to sync it crashes the app on both the iPhone 6 plus and the iPad Air 2 One would think that they had tested this program against these newer phones and iPads but I dont think they have The higher resolution screens should be able to allow more data on the screen but its the same as the older versions My advice and I have used Handbase for over 10 years now is to give it a miss till they decide to support the new Apple equipment completely If you look on their blog you will find that many people have asked for this support but the questions are basically being ignored Get this sorted and it will be back to 5 stars     Crashes

Ive used HanDBase since the Palm OS days and I have never found a better database app for mobile platforms There are plenty of field types to choose from I can link or relate databases the desktop app includes a wifi sync no cloud required there arent any important constraints on number of fields etc                 Always the best

The software speaks for itself but for me it is the excellent tech support that I have received on more than one occasion Most recently when one of my databases became corrupted Brian exchanged numerous emails with me until he was able to resolve the problem and restore my data He was patient and prompt in his service for which I am extremely grateful                 Outstanding tech support

This is a great app and I do a tonne of useful stuff on it As hard as it is to believe there arent really any other apps than perform as a database on the iPhone so robustly I just with there was a way to get to the cloud without having to go through the old desktop download csv route eg exportimport data via google docs or sync save to dropbox something Ive tried everything else be bento database for iPad isort and keep having to come back to Handbase I say keep having to Because aside from the slightly trapping data transfer method feels slightly aged these days the graphics are in a serious need of something skeomorph windows 8 simple anything thats not from the 80s overall this app is critically useful and fantastic but please handbase guys headhunt at least 2 new people 1 graphic designer and 1 from those dropbox people              Great app

Needs a global or top level search option It is a pain to go through each database since iOS search cannot access the databases Otherwise Ive been using HanDbase since Palm Pilot days and its been great              Good but

Handbase is a wonderful and flexible database that Ive used for years Unfortunately in the latest update field descriptions dont seem to line up properly with the data in the individual record view Im sure your crack team will resolve the problem quickly to get the app back to 5 stars              Great Darabase

Ive been waiting for them to implement the numeric keypad for number fields It was left out of the original iOS 7HDB 490 update I asked about it Dave apologized that he forgot and added it to a new update HDB 4902 a few days later The developer Dave always provides help and answers questions via the user forum and discussion groups rather quickly often within a few hours Appreciate that they did not charge for the latest iOS 7 update or any other update since my original purchase Worth every penny and then some                 Keypad input is great

Ive been using HandBase since I was a resident in about 2000 starting on the Palm Pilot and all the way through to the iPhone6 now I like it but the Desktop sync should be built in to the desktop version as it is once the demo ran out I am told to sync my phone I have to buy a Plus version but the website only offers upgrades to a Windows version not a Mac version of HanDbase Plus So kind of stymied now              Still reliable powerful but interfacesync suboptimal

The possibilities with this app are endless Very easy to use lots of templates that already exist and a desktop program that syncs data makes this app invaluable From medical journal to password keeper to Shopping List I use this app many times a day Also being able to export directly to a CSV or Text file is great when you want to archive a database                 Powerful Tool but Easy to Use

My partners and I have been using Handbase since 2004 selected due to its cross platform capability It has grown up with us and we literally could not run our practice without it We send data daily in a hippa compliant manor encrypt databases password protect our work and have large databases available to mine as data The app is a bargain Was much more for windows mobile and I was happy to pay it                 Could not live without it

Ive always gotten good results from HanDBase and this new version is prettier faster better looking cute easy on the eyes Seriously its a great layout and very efficent to use Im happy I bought this program many years ago and liking it even better Great developers                 Good value

Ive been working with database technologies and user interfaces since 1969 On the handheld platform nothing compares to the capabilities in HanDBase It may not be the prettiest but it is possible to do things in HanDBase that are simply not possible in the competition Bento for example It syncs to my Mac or PC and has always provided an upgrade path to new devices Its not perfect but no software is Its just the best                 Most capable

If you need an app for creating databases on iPhone or iPad this is the best app It will sync with Microsoft Access or stand alone Ive been using it for at least eight years and it does everything I need and want There was a slight hiccup with the previous update but the team was on it and fixed the bug immediately Great customer service No other database app compares For databases this is a must have                 Must Have

I have been a long time user of Handbase since 2001 This app is great I bought both the iPhone and iPad versions I carry several databases that I use everyday on the job Whenever I have a need to track something I find it really easy to quickly create a database and start using it right away Setting up a database no matter what program you use takes a little learning but I have found Handbase to be the easiest to use and setup Thanks for a great product                 Great App use it everyday

Thanks for the new update Very helpful I use Handbase constantly But my only wish is that it can handle languages that write from right to left such as Hebrew and Arabic Any chance It would greatly enhance the app Also what about the update for iPad              Good improvement and a wish

Use one of the thousands of database templates in the gallery modify them if needed or make your own from scratch You will soon wonder how you lived without this app The ability to make home screen icons that launch your individual databases is a great added bonus Now has reliable encryption to protect your data                 Worth every penny

You knowlook around the App Store Some apps are available as meaning one purchase works on all your modern iDevices Then their are apps and developers who create unique versions for each screen size charging for each and even adding inapp purchases for customization OK Im not selling software to make a living and Im no Bill Gates but HanDBase on iDevices has fallen into the latter definition app types Heres my adviceif you have an iPhone or iPod touch buy it here including the forms creator inapp purchase if you need that functionality Next get a Retinaenabled iPad and use your files in 2X mode Works just fine and renders fine In fact the minimalist if layout of the smaller iDevice screen on the iPad actually makes it a program youll use rather than fiddle with and get lost in screen art Also since this developer around since the dawn of Palm Pilot hasnt at this point integrated iCloud DropBox or any other cloudbased personal syncing your only options are 1 forget my earlier advice and get another modern database app 2 email your databases back and forth between your devices loading each time on the receiving device after deleting the same file older but still present on the receiving device or 3 live cabled to iTunes and savecopy daily your updates on the App tab So my two stars would be one if I didnt have such a long experience with this app I can work somewhat efficiently with these shortcomings But be knownIm always looking for the next solution not FileMakerBento commercial bloatware either PS Are you ever gonna change the stinkin flipping page effect when navigating through records Weve all graduated from PowerPoint transitions and animation We want speed not glitzy graphical elements        Needs Updating

Restoring an iPhone does not restore databases Developer recommends buying 30 program By another rather than solve problems Will not address problem Finally time to DELETE After years there is still is no sync option Manual WiFi backup is lame Manual iTunes backup is lame Not possible to use on more than one device Nice App but poor follow through Lost years of data with device failure and refusal to restore on new device Almost there doesnt cut it Moving to a full solution Bye     Years later still no sync no restore
