Like everyone else I purchased the Vivofit 2 to track my fitness Completely useless withiut the ability to sync This appears to be a long running issue and Garman has donw nothing to solve 100 down the drain     Complete piece of junk

I bought a Vivoactive 2 weeks ago running software version 260 and I believe I made a mistake Due to Garmins ineptitude and horrible customer support I cannot update the watch to 320 Despite telling them I do not have access to a PC that Im allowed to download the stupid Garmin Express app they could provide me with zero helpful assistance It appears Im far from unique but flat out telling me that a software error is causing my inability to update to the latest OS doesnt cut it FIX YOUR APP Get it right get some worthwhile customer support capable of problem solving Dont tell me your mobile app which is supposed to be a massive selling point is not developed properlyjust fix the darn app Ive basically got a 250 paperweight If the Apple Watch had GPS built in the Vivoactive would have been kicked to the curb on day 2 Shame on you Garmin this app is a cumbersome disaster     Vivoactive is worthless due to this
Last sync was July 30th dont know if that was the exact day it stopped working but I used to sync every couple of days and have not been able to in forever Whats the point of this thing I were it everyday but if I dont get a chance to look at my number before midnight its gone and Ill never see it again I liked to compete with my family per day but now Im at college and it would be nice to be able to use the app to compare our steps but we cant I even tried deleting the app and now cant get past the start up because it ask me to put in the code on the device but the device can never sync     Still no sync

Just to help those who cannot sync after an update 1 Delete Garmin connect Mobile from your phone 2 Reboot phone and device 3 Reinstall Garmin Connect Mobile on your phone 4 Repair your phone to your device Sync will work Garmin sync is still extremely slow I am optimistic that you can fix this Please please please allow us to sync offline Everything will work better that way How to do Sync to GCMs container on iPhone from Garmin device Copying a 200K FIT file should only take a second not 30 minutes like it does now The container iPhone internal memory should exist as a queue Later on do a sync between Garmin website and iPhone container     For those who have trouble syncing after update
I just bought a vivosmart Giving it 3 stars because the first time I attempted to pair it it said it was unable to pair I went into my Bluetooth settings on my iPhone and forgot the device I then repaired the watch It is now synced and seems to be working fine However we will see if I will have issues with mine in the future I hope not           3 stars for now

Updated 91315 release Bluetooth sync perhaps a little better when it eventually starts The problems now are that sync sometimes never starts until app kill and restart and Upload failed to iPhone on manual activity upload almost every time     Bluetooth sync almost never works

so i have this garminfit fro almost a year i need it to count my steps for work insurance purposes and it is not saving steps certain days of the week and it is not syncing with my phone it is frustrating using this app or garming fix it     Sync is not happening

Garmins terrible products have been ruining things for us at work for weeks Their devices NEVER sync Original review I already have a Fitbit but I wanted to check out the Garmin stuff due to a discount through work I was shocked when I saw the terrible reviews for this app How could it be THAT bad I asked myself Well the app isnt as pretty or as fun as the Fitbit one and it doesnt track as much info but I cant fault it for not being as good as something else What I can fault it for is the poor sync reliability I can keep the Fitbit app open and monitor my steps and other stats in realtime The Garmin app wont even sync most of the time It tells me that it last connected 4 hours ago or something crazy OK So connect Sync Go I pull to refresh but it doesnt sync I turn Bluetooth off and back on and it still doesnt sync This has been a source of headache for me Its just not fun Fitbit IS fun and it WORKS Just look at the reviews for their app     Terrible joke
Ive been an iPhone and Garmin user for years and despite the fact that I am always updated to the latest iOS and firmware versions Garmin continually fails to make sure their devices work with mobile devices This app is nothing more that pretty colors and some text and you may as well forget a functional Bluetooth sync Seriously theres no point in paying for their higher end devices that offer Bluetooth sync when it doesnt work Even after continued updates staying they fixed the issues Garmin youre an embarrassing failure of a tech company     Simply stunning In the worst of ways
Syncing does work with much patience Download the mobile connect software which is very slow Set up your account and try and connect Usually gets failed and constant retries here After this you can connect with the computer and download garmin express to update software This helped me on one band Phone was connected to band but unable to view the garmin app still As another user said delete the garmin app on the phone and reinstall it The first band on my girlfriends phone app now worked The 2nd band on my phone took 2 tries of deleting the app and reinstalling Now both bands connect flawlessly and the app always works Hope this helps Also the bands that Im using are vivosmarts              Syncing

It actually usually syncs on the first try every time No major issues The sleep log matches my sleep cycle app data and no need to put the bracelet in sleep mode The app figures it out by the data on the bracelet              Vivoactive works great
