I was intrigued at the idea behind this app and am happy to see it being explored but as it stands this app is not ready for use What I was hoping to find was a promising method of data entry for a wearable such as the Apple Watch But this is first and foremost a messaging service within the network of its app users Without any contacts in the apps network one cannot even test out the interface Convincing friends to pay to join a morse code messaging social network sight unseen is difficult work Finally I found I could add a couple of the contacts I discovered in the promotional posts for the app and could test it out On my phone it is very responsive and its quick and easy to pull up a reference sheet for letters I dont immediately recall On my watch it is almost unusable The first challenge to the eyeFree claim on the Watch app is that only about 20 of the small screen is actually dedicated to the buttons primarily used for data entry I dont see how I could ever confidently use them without looking The second challenge is that the slow response of the watchs interface makes it difficult to complete letters in morse code before the application thinks youve moved on to the next letter This was especially true when needing to do two or in a row so it was an exercise in frustration to keep getting a e when I was trying for a i Between these two difficulties this is definitely more of a proof of concept than a readytosell app I hope development will continue on this or other similar approaches data entry on the Apple Watch Improvements to the social and technical aspects of the app would go a long ways At minimum a default contact so that one could test the app but preferably a way to send messages outside of its limited network But it will be especially useful to better optimize the watch app interface to the actual platform it is intended for Use the whole screen and program the interface so that it can accommodate the slow response of communicating each tap to the phone for processing Great idea for an app I hope it continues to get the development it deserves to be really ready for use Great idea but needs some work
