EventGhost

Looks like a great app but cant get the plugin for the software to work I downloaded the PC client downloaded the plugin and moved it to the plugins folder but there doesnt seem to be a way to turn on the plugin which the wesbite says you need to be running on the PC There is very little documentation on the website and no information on how to do this Please help I spent 10     Cant make it work

I have been using EventGhost for years to control media PC This is what I have been waiting for since I change to iphone Spend 10 min and has it up and running and eveything works as predicted A few improvement could push the rating to 5 Better handling of connection after iphone turnoff etc key icon and layout customization keypress feedback in sound or vibrate or both              Great companion to EventGhost

If this isnt the best app Iphone has I cant think of one to top it This APP is what the Iphone was made for well besides making phone calls To be able to control your entire home entertainment center from anywhere in the world via you phone is a wonderful thing You are also able to control your home lights and security system with the proper setup this App is amazing                 eventphone wow

Needs better instructions but other than that good program              199 cant go wrong

Works great The buttons map into Eventghost just like any other plugin Very quick response from iphone to PC no lag Nice touch to make the more used keys larger when turning the iphone sideways I had some problems installing the server side of the software but the author was very responsive It was as simple as I needed a newer version of Eventghost on the PC The installation instructions need more detail 5 stars because it works and is useful                 Been waiting for this app

Been using intelliremote for the last couple weeks and I love it However I found the 24 dollar price tag for the PC server excessive Stumbled across this app by the same author and decided to buy it thinking that Ill get the same features as intelliremote excluding mouse support for 14 dollars less Well so far I have been very disappointed I cannot figure out how to launch media center or get any of the functionality that I enjoyed with intelliremote I cannot switch profiles on the fly and the animation used to transition from portrait to landscape mode looks terrible In short I am very disappointed but since I spent 10 dollars on this app Ill keep trying Btw there is very little documentation on the site outside of the initial configuration Unless youre an expert with event ghost Do Not Buy        No intelliremote

If you really really need an EventGhost remote buy this Otherwise skip it The issues I have with EventGhost or eventphone as they refer to it in the EventGhost world Far too expensive at 999 especially when compared to other remotes like XBMC Melloware should provide source code at that price Impossible layout Vertical layout has far too many buttons and they are way too tiny for us fat finger types No layout customization it is what is is You cant move icons around or disable the ones you dont want Only raw remote code support All you can do is trap the events coming from iphone and assign to macros you create Theres no plugin package that I can find that maps the play button to play etc but I guess this is the eventghost way really No profile capability you can control ONE eventghost host and thats it Kind of silly considering they went to the trouble of creating a settings interface for it No autoreentry on iphone shut off If you are running EventGhost and your phone shuts off youll be back at the app finder in iphone and need to restart EventGhost Yecch If you use EventGhost for XBMC check out the XBMC remote It has all of the above and costs far less     Poor effort

I was looking for some way to remotely control my entertainment system and Mellowares EventGhost teamed up with the open source EventGhost PC service and a USBUIRT IR transmitter was the winning solution Its simple and works well And its a much less expensive and provides a much better iPhone interface than other systems such as Girder Thank you keep up the great work              Another great app from Melloware

App is awesome I use this to turn my tv on and off through an ir blaster and eventghost Great forum support at the melloware website I had an issue that nobody else was reporting just a minor glitch and developer responded to me in 2hrs and had submitted an app update to fix my problem in just 48 hrs Best customer service Ive ever encountered Thanks melloware                 Best service ever
