Earthquake Map and Alerts

This is a nice app but what it really needs is the ability to utilize the iPhone accelerometer to detect earthquakes and share that data to the cloud andor the USGS Only when enough similar readings are detected from a certain region within a narrow timeframe would the data be considered legitimate and then be pushed back out to the map for all users to view The app could also be active only at certain times of the daynight that the user defines As well as only be active when connected to predefined wifi networks Such as Home or work Another option would be to only take accelerometer reading when it is plugged into power such as when on your night stand or connected to a computer USB The app could also use the iPhone GPS to disable sensor reading when moving As well as only record seismic data when the app detects the iPhone is laying flat on its back Another option would be to disable the seismic sensor data output when a face is detected with the front facing camera Requiring the app to be running in the foreground would also further prevent false readings This could easily quickly and cheaply create a huge network of seismographs around the world        Needs this feature

Does not work I set the sensor to a low level but the app does not report any of the quakes the local news reports and this area has more than 300 quakes per year Further the list setting lists every quake in the world rather than the local quakes     Earthquakes

This app is really helpful to be able to see all earthquake activity throughout Southern California where I live I can see if there are patterns developing or where the activity is                 Helps a lot

I used to get instant notifications when an earthquake occurred near me Now it sends sporadic notifications Sometimes I wont get anything for days even when there have been earthquakes Then I will get 5 at once including quakes that happened over a week ago     Used to be awesome

The map nor the list shows any earthquakes Deleted reinstalled nothing App used to work but latest updates has rendered it useless Deleted and downloaded another     Doesnt work

It lets you know exactly when its going down hopefully it alerts us ahead of time                 Great App

Used to be one if my favorite apps But ever since I deleted my History and Cookies on my iphone the app stopped working Even deleted the app from my iphone and redownloaded it to my phone and it still doesnt work This happened once before but I dont know unless they fix these bugs I might have to go with another app        Stopped Working Out Of The Blue

I used to get notifications all the time but a couple days ago it just stopped working According to the map even though Im hearing of an 80 in Alaska today on the news there are have been NO earthquakes anywhere in the world recently The only thing its doing correctly is showing where I am     Just stopped working

Oklahoma was having 3 to 4 quakes a day Some 43 quakes and did not show a thing     Terrible

Doesnt appear to track any events beyond western N America Doesnt allow you to set any tracking by location only within a radius from your current location Im looking for an app that sends me real time alerts for global locations that I identify eg where my friends family live This isnt it Alerts tells you to set location information in settings settings only allows locations by radius     Useless

Didnt show OK cluster today Tried to update app and then it wouldnt work at all so I dejected it Seems like it missed a lot of stuff if it wasnt in CA     Deleted app

It is not bad but there could be some improvements I wish that I would actually get push notifications There should be an option to list only the earthquakes that we have set in our push notifications instead of all of the ones that happened all over the world           Ok

What the heck happened to the List View Mine stopped working completely Deleted and reinstalled twice and it still is a black blank screen for my list view Will this be fixed soon        List View

Generally like the app and information it provides However it continues to report frequent Quakes in Lakeview Oregon And displays the location of these quakes in central California Every Lakeview OR quake alert pinpoints central CA           Lakeview Oregon

Cool app if it did what it says it will do I want to be notified when an earthquake happens and that doesnt work Have it set to anything over 10 within 200 mi There have been a number of earthquakes in the area the past week around 30 and no notification        Notifications dont work

Map is slow to refresh Often when I look at the details of an eq I am stuck there until I shutdownrestart the entire app It was very slow to update new eq I knew about them via social media way before the app notified me not to mention IF it notified me           So so

Ive had this app for years Living in south america it used to show me all the earthquakes nearby In the past year it almost never shows any in south america even the big ones It shows hundreds of tiny under 20 magnitude in california and alaska but none of the 40 and up that occur in chile everyday Try a different app     Went downhill

I dont know what happened or why but now it only reports distance in kilometers and does not have an option to convert between miles and km When you try to adjust the alerts to a certain magnitude it now wont recognize that either Theres been a swarm in NW Nevada set it for 30 or higher it alerts to all quakes     Was great Now its garbage

Thought it was okay wish there was a way to set alerts at locations and above a certain magnitude separately Im also confuse by the fact it doesnt show the Idaho quake a few days ago that was strong enough for people to feel        So so

Is not showing any of the earthquakes in Oklahoma The news reports quakes but the app never shows them     Guess middle of the country doesnt matter

I work in the Reinsurance Business out of Miami and we underwrite coverage of catastrophic events What a disappointment this App has been when suddenly it will not work anymore I set it up to get alerts of mayor earthquakes than 60 in a 20000 miles radius A year ago it worked fine but now it will not alert me of anything in Latin America where most of our business is The App is not only not alerting me but it is not even listing earthquakes I hear about in the news Like the Chilean one on April 1st Too bad this app was a great tool in the reinsurance industry but since its gone downhill and is not useful anymore I will delete it     Doesnt Alert nor List Earthquakes in Latin America

I have an iPhone 5s Doesnt show list or alerts no matter what I do Worked great on my iPhone 4s but NOT on my 5s Going to delete and look for a productive one     Doesnt work

3 earthquakes in my area were never even listed over the last 2 months I know they happened since I saw them on USGSs site Including one today in Blowing Rock North Carolina 4 miles from my job A 25 Fix the app We dont have that many in North Carolina so its important that information is correct     Worthless

Nepal just had a major earthquake your app showed it but within 7 mins removed it now it shows it at a 50 aftershock get your app to report accurate information     Poor app

The app is working again as of 1202015 I wonder if it was just me or was it broken got all But working now I find this app interesting and easy to use I have it alert me for magnitude 30 anywhere within 8000 miles I imagine the USA is better at reporting earthquakes I wish more info were reported for other parts of the world I love the app Great user interface                 Fun app Easy to use Informative

My wife and I both have this on our iPhones 5 and 6 and a few days ago it just stopped reporting and doesnt show any activity on the world map Please fix           Recently stopped Working
