When an app is this useful and welldesigned you use it without thinking about it Its easy to add new encounters manage monsters and NPCs and has a cool integration with the PCs app Fight Club so you can send treasures magic items to them digitally The iPad version also integrates with the iPhone version via iCloud so you can use both apps together as companions This is valuable if youve built encounters ahead of time and stored them in your campaign I would like to see a feature that made it easierclearer to build encounters and notes on a Mac and import those to the app Hacking XML files and porting through Dropbox is not simple The community support of this app is very good this is how you get the full value by importing the data that you really need to build encounters quickly monsters treasures as well as a quick reference to the rules Cant imagine running 5E without it

One of the biggest complaints of my players in my game is length of combat BUT with this app once you load up all the combatants combat is smooth I really love this app This is a great app making DMing much faster and smoother kudos to the developer Useful and excellent app

Once you get database setup it is quick and easy Initiative tracker and hp tracker in one makes managing the fights easy The ability to quickly build an encounter is really nice too But you have to build the database yourself or find someone who has one built Great tool

Really the best digital tool there is for running a game Its a shame Wizards cant come up with anything this good and would rather make it harder for players to use it than making it easier But with the Dropbox feature and the right shared folder having a complete Compendium is a snap Indispensable

Finally getting an iPad to use in games and this is exactly what I was looking for Great

Bought itloaded it up with the free filesset up a variety of encounters and scenariosand rocked the gaming session this past weekend This is a must own app for all DMs It freed me up to improvise interact and respond to the players Smoother faster gameplay keeps everyone into the flow Easy to follow and set up any adventure The Fight Club 5 app rocks too The best bar none

I use both this and Fight Club and they are both fantastic apps The community support is great and I use the files from Ceryliae to quickly gain all the information I need Fantastic App

I see that someone in the comments has an import file that you can request And then download dropbox And then add to drop box And then import to this app But if it exists why not include this in the app itself At least in the full version Who wants to import the full compendiumbeastiary etc Even if you want the ability to create your own details why not start with the 5e stats for all classesracesmonsters Im a new player and this seems like more work than just doing it on paper Need to create everything from scratch

This app would have a 5 star rating but every time I try to open a picture I have in my notes the app crashes Other than that I am very happy with it and if they fix the photo problem I will most likely purchase the full version Good but some bugs

Tried this out loved it Bought full version because it really does make running a campaign a breeze and has some excellent features Would be perfect but it crashes every time I try to save or open a picture and drops information Ive added Frustrating for an otherwise great product Great but crashes

Great app once you start typing in compendium stats Can run battles from the app and a scratch pad for notes Made organizing the battles and characters easy Simple learning curve works extremely well to run game

This app is great for having smooth gaming I use it during all of the sessions I DM Also the compendium is a dream come tree Quickly get access to all of the information you need for any encounter You can also build encounters with monsters once they have been input into the compendium I do find that as I create my own campaigns I do need a separate program to edit and manage my notes which I then import into the campaign manager Im giving it four stars because it is awesome however I think there are two features it could use One is the ability to export campaigns so that I could save or share them somewhere else besides the cloud It takes a lot of work to put them together in there and I would like to be able to export it somehow Also it needs some type of file system So that when my players are in a dungeon I can pull up all of the relevant information for that dungeon in the encounters and treasure then reduce it again when they leave the dungeon Great Encounter and Dungeon Manager

Let me start off by saying Awesome Paid for the full version For those of you having issues I also recommend the author put a splash screen on how to do this You need to have a drop box account and the app installed You can find a ton of pre done bestiaries campaigns etc on the Internet Reddit seems to have a specific user that is doing a lot of work for the files You can import the files then it is as simple as a few clicks to get an encounter going I created the first 4 dungeons in the Princes of the Apocalypse campaign complete in about 30 minute It took me a bit longer because we are running with 5 players so I changed the defaulted HP in all the entries For the author here are a few things I think would be nice to have The health bars for the encounters also display the text overlay kind of like World of Warcraft Show the save modifiers next to the armor as well Something like Av 13 Ref 2 Con 1 etc having a die roll would be nice but the roller is available at the top of the screen Anyway Great tool Phenominal Prework required but already available

When combined with Fight Club 5 this app is absolutely indispensable It takes a bit of time and effort to do the initial setup but time saved during game prep and table time is incredible Amazing

Great app Will be DMing for the first time in 24 years Playing around with this app I found it tremendously useful Streamlines running the game especially encounterscombat Very versatile allows modifications as required As previously stated no resident data but a community of interest has done some tedious but outstanding work to make this app truly shine Integrates with the player version called Fight Club though my players have not utilize that app if they did I could import their PC stats with no issues Again great work love the app Great App

Every update continues to zero in on giving the DM the ability to better track the relevant info for their encounters This app makes my game more fluid and saves a bunch of time both in building encounters for my campaign and in tweaking them on the fly With the growing community support this app has risen from being a neat addition to the huge time saver I wanted in a digital tool Sharing homebrew creatures spells and items has elevated this app even further above any competition it may have had Worth the buy Just keeps getting better better

As a new DM this has let me get a quick handle on running my game in 5e Its perfect for running modules and its allowed me to even start adjusting them on the fly It takes just a bit of getting used to and then its great I can even link to files in Dropbox which has allowed me to easily slot in creatures and spells I couldnt run my game without it Cant miss app for GMs

The community has developed lots of resources for this and its simple for one to add their own Definitely worth the purchase price This is a GREAT product

A few bugs that Ive reported but really awesome As someone new to 5e Ive been reading through the rules while playing with the app which gives me better insight into the rules as I can see how changes affect other things etc Biggest problem apart from having to roll your own data no good syncing of PCs between FC 5 and GM 5 Hopefully that can be worked out Excellent

With each revision of this app it continues to improve and should be one of the top tools for any dm This is the ios tool that wizards should have put out With a populated compendium there is so much information at the tip of your fingers and easily accessible Well worth the cost Keeps getting better

This app is fantastic I highly recommend it there is no built in info but there is a great community that has done all of the work and is available for import I would have given the app 4 stars but right now with this version there is a bug where when you go to apply a condition to someone in combat sometimes the condition wont show and there are other times when a condition has been resolved I can not remove it I would have also raised the rating by one more star if there was a way to track things like the spell slots used by an enemy caster or a way to keep track if a rechargeable ability has been used or not Fantastic app really helps to manage combat

Or nearly It will be awesome if as an in app purchase we buy packs of modules encounters or single books rules and data to use immediately It is perfect now

The most helpful app for the DMs use Youre able to track PCs NPCs Spells and numerous miscellaneous rules and elements of the game The import feature allows for simpler collection of information and the apps fan community has already compiled many files for the creation It would just need an importexport feature to send campaigns across platforms as well as a PC version to write importable files Overall this app improves the experience of running the game DMs Swiss Army Knife

Most of what I know about DD is from the 35e open content and the 5e stuff they revealed doesnt work too well with 35e I like to make up RPG stuff with this but as someone without many friends who play DD much less 5e I find their attempts to extort money out of you pretty pointless and annoying Of course Youd be able to make more stuff up with the Fight Club app but whats the point The whole idea of inputting rules is also confusing since you have to email a HTML file for any of that and how to format it makes very little sense Im glad this exists but actually using it for a DD game seems highly impractical Well it exists

This is hands down the best app for Dungeons Dragons 5th Edition It is worth 3 and for the usability I would have paid 10 It takes the 3 other apps I was using to digitize my DMing and makes 1 perfect app Sure there are things I could recommend but the app is well advanced over anything out there and I look forward to what future updates will bring Best DnD 5e App

Awesome to run campaigns on once you figure out the mechanics of the app Since there are no demo videos it took a while to figure it out and this app will be legendary if we can use the Dropbox to upload and download your campaign to different Devices Outside of that a perfect app to run campaigns on The GMs BFF APP

This is a great app for keeping track of any Table Top RPGs and the ability to import data from Dropbox makes it so easy to add and create There are a few minor things Id like to be different Constant damage on an enemy doesnt get auto calculated each turn it must be manually applied As well there are a few small details with customizing attributes that are impossible All in all this app is great for any GM and doesnt require a GM screen Great but not perfect

As a dungeon master going on almost ten years this app is A MUST if you have a smart phone or tablet The player version fight club 5 is also truly spectacular You can build beautiful notebooks complete with pictures stat blocks and quick links It even has a search engine Get it get it right now Phenomenal
