THANK YOU for caring about the profanity we are constantly having shoved in our eyes and ears I love being able to read my books without reading the garbage Ive never heard anyone complain about a book having too little profanity Thank you again for this app Now if you could make one for movies and television                 Great App

Do people understand the concept of writing and reading books Hearing from a lot of authors that they never signed permission for their text to be manipulated they also have to do this when their books are translated Super shady and disappointing     Is this even legal

The app only mutilates prose there is no intellectual input to allow a story to flow You are paying to have almost random parts of your book bleeped Do not take this path do not buy or do return a book that does not meet your expectations     Clunky technology odious concept

You do not get to pick one apart and separate what you do like from what you dont This app is an affront to all authors everywhere because the scrubbing of any part of the language destroys the overall integrity of the book Profanity is part of language It is not lazy language nor is it separate and whiting it out or replacing it with more friendly words kicks holes into the overall narrative Authors choose their words carefully in the editing process and what comes out in the final version should stay as the FINAL VERSION Censoring a work after the fact is not only insulting to the host of people who worked on it it encourages greater and more harmful acts of censorship Readers if you dont like profanity in a book then stop reading the book Its really that simple Do not support an app that damages an authors work especially when the authors consent was never given in the first place     Books are not a salad

All of the 1 star reviews are based on feelings The purpose of this app is to clean up novels FOR FREE And it does just that 5 stars                 Does what it says it does

Look if you dont want to read books with profanity vote with your dollars and DONT BUY OR READ THE BOOK If you use this app the author still gets paid and goes on writing books just as they have in the past In the meantime you read a mutilated and infantile version of whatever original work youre buying These are just two of the many reasons why Clean Reader is a terrible idea Dont use it dont buy books through it Just dont     Youre still paying for swearing

I have been wishing for this app for years There are so many books that I cant enjoy because of the profanity and now I dont have to worry about it I just wish there were a version that worked with Kindle Love this app                 So glad to have this app

This is a terrible app offensive at every level Authors choose words for specific intended reasons Editors choose to leave those words in because they worked well for the intended purpose Does anyone genuinely think that a blankedout box slapped down in the middle of the text is going to improve on those choices Or that it will somehow not interrupt the reading experience the flow of the text and the immersion and suspension of disbelief in any way This app is the product of minds that couldnt handle having a conversation with their precious little snowflake child about what a word means or why an author might have chosen to use that word in its context and decided that a better solution was to hide the naughty words from Precious Snowflake forever If you want people that hopeless making decisions about what words you should and shouldnt read download away The designers should be ashamed Heres hoping they seriously rethink their approach to life     An insult to readers and writers alike

Theres a major problem with changing an Authors words you end up reading what the Author did not intend to write You corrupt their meaning If you live in a world where words are so damaging to you I suggest you avoid Authors that dont swear at all instead of pretending to read a sweary Author after fiddling with their art So take that stick out of your glutes and deal with how real people talk Gosh Darn the no replacement word exists Fiddling Heck Sorry I lost it there for a second So go ahead and use this app if you want Nobody can stop you I just hope you feel bad about it     CENSORED

Books are NOT salads contrary to what the creators of this app think And yes you can go to some restaurants and they will NOT make substitutions to your food Unlike music and TV that have bleeped versions thats an FCC issue and also are AUTHORIZED modifications Where are these books being obtained Is the app even authorized to resell these books One author found versions of his books on the app that were no longer legally available for sale elsewhere because of a publishing contract Instead of censoring books how about teaching children the meaning of words and having a discussion with them This is equivalent to the nimrods who want to rewrite Mark Twain to make it PC instead of holding mature conversations about the original works I also find it highly amusing that it will censor and replace words in the Bible If this app ONLY hid wordsmaybe it wouldnt be so heinous But still an unauthorized use of authors works different licensing than with print books But to display chages to authors works EVEN if it doesnt change the original file is STILL an UNAUTHORIZED USE of digital works and is highly unethical if not completely illegal     Censorship and Unauthorized Use at its Finest

As an author I am appalled by the fact that you would change the words that I write Yes it is censorship but on a personal level so that factor doesnt bother me If you worry about a book and its contents then just dont buy it Leave it on its virtual shelf or go back to reading real live paper books I would suggest to those who have a problem with language to read a genre called sweet romance This is more something you will not have the problems with Please dont put words in my mouth I dont put them in yours     How dare you

Its supposed to work with any ebook or pdf There are no instructions or a users guide on how to use the app or how to acquire any ebook or pdf from an outside source Apparently the only way to get help finding or reading a book is to send them an email requesting help So off the top of my head it looks like this app only works with books purchased from their system and not any ebook     No instructions

This app is utterly reprehensible not only is it a disturbing form of automated censorship but worse a MISOGYNIST form of censorship Their definition of what count as bad words is disgustingly sexist replacing any and every mention female anatomy be it slang OR appropriate medical terminology with one single word bottom Thats right bottom a word that in no way correllates to the actual body part being described Women and their bodies dont ACTAULLY exist according to the creators of this app were all just smooth bottomed plastic Barbie Dolls our physical reality is too icky to think about and all words relating to it are bad swears and considered profanity Grow up Clean Readers and realize that people all people are HUMAN BEINGS and that you cannot simply erase their existence by erasing the words used to describe them     Sexism censorship and stupidity All in one
