This chess with friends app is a nice organized way to play chess with close friends family and or anyone I like the chat feature to be able to talk smack during a heated chess game This is a great foundation for what could be an even better app There is always need for improvements but right now it is simple and straight to the point Play chess Without adds the app doesnt crash nearly at all Adds used to freeze the app and I had to close and reopen I hope to see continuous improvements like the ability to personalize my boardpieces and also it be nice for the app to keep track of WL record with individual players and maybe allow tournaments to occur with friends A bright future but right now A OK                 Great game

Great app if you dont mind waiting for more than 11 days for your opponent to make a move Resigned after a reasonable amount of time of not making a move Fix it           Needs improved

I enjoy this app a lot and find that it works well for me There are still some bugs but the overall app experience is excellent I had a problem where the app was unable to connect to Facebook but customer support was able to fix it recently and now everything is fine The only reason that this app doesnt get five stars is that I think 4 at least thats what it cost when I paid for it is a bit steep for a chess app The main reason that I finally caved and bought it was that I couldnt stand the constant ads anymore Zynga has done an excellent job and their customer support was extremely helpful This is a great chess app              A Great Chess App

Dont get me wrong I love this app But it hasnt materially changed for I think literally years It actually used to have a way to find old opponentsfriends which is long gone and sorely missed It needs simple features people have been asking for again literally for years flip board keep notes andor planned next move handy if game is slow and you have to refresh where you were and why Be able to see your opponents winloss record Be able to see your record vs a particular opponent This data is already available in the database exposing it would not be hard Hire a good PM to help maybe me           So what are they updating

The app is great I play everyday There should be a way for us to track our records with individual players The app kind of looks old school There are some glitches that could be fixed Many have been fixed since I first started playing about 5 months ago If we could track the winloss between individual playersthis would be the greatest app ever              I love the app Could be better

Absolutely the best chess app on the App Store especially for playing remotely with friends but its painfully and whoafully in need of an update for the modern iOS and modern iPhones Only mentioning it because of the recent bug squashing update I actually had thought the app had been mothballed Thanks for the continued attention Hoping for more elaborate attention soon           Best chess game Needs updating

Chess is fun This app is so close to being good it fails on the following The constant remove from list pop up inquiring about writing a review see app Im finally doing it The inability to refresh while the app is open I often find I have a notification for a move that doesnt exist The user interface hasnt been upgraded since iPhone 4 There are ads even though I paid for the version that is supposed to be without them But its unfortunately probably the better of chess apps to play amongst friends out there Theres no timing limits though so your opponent can take a week if theyd like for a move        Love the game of Chess

Ads on the free version are so prohibitive I decided to pay the money to upgrade Instead of a seamless upgrade of my existing app and games am Now stuck with 2 apps and no way to port existing games over Janky and ill designed user experience     Such crap

This a great app but it desperately needs an update for the iPhone 6 plus I played this on a samsung Galaxy s5 and it is soo much better No reason they can import that version for the iPhone 6 plus           Great app but

The gamely is pretty good and its not too glitchy but my main problem is the fact that the design of the app is from early iOS designs and its and barely tolerable But whatever           Its okay

First of all considering that Ive got the paid version of the app this game should have a timer for those who are able to sit and play a full game For those who chose to play and take days in between each move a game could take over a month I only use it to play people I know now I choose random player and I could end up with literally 20 games open at one time before I find someone willing to play without stopping Even when I do play with a friend I know that Im FaceTiming with at the same time they tell me that theyve moved I hear on their phone that theyve moved but it takes up to 3 minutes before it will show up on my end This app NEEDS a quicker time on it so that it ends games that arent played for days 5 days for one move is just ridiculous It needs a choice for those who want to take forever to play and those that have the time     NEEDS TIMER GAMES LAST FOREVER

I absolutely love to play chess with this app You can play anyone from friends to total strangers However I give it a three star rating because it gives you limited response time before it forces you to resign They also adjust this setting ever so often so you really never know just how much time you have Its hard when youre playing 40 people at once the maximum limit and you automatically are forced to lose games This is especially difficult in complicated theoretical positionsneeds to be adjusted           Good but could be way better

The time it takes to register each move renders this app unusable Dont waste you money on this app     DONT BUY THIS APP UNUSABLE

Ive literally been waiting for YEARS for this app to support the ipad or at least support landscape mode Whenever i want to continue on my ipad i have to rotate to portrait and i hate that because i have a clamshell keyboard case Zagg keys folio so its always awkward Get with the times Zenga and make this a universal app     NO landscape mode for ipad

Moves can take a long time to show up even after the notification of a move has happened Also would love to have a practice mode           No practice mode

But it is useable I use it all day every day All the bad comments are from people who think they deserve the best possible chess app This isnt the best But it works fine If I find a better one Ill use that Until then              This isnt a professional app

The app itself is okay although the UI looks quite dated in comparison to other Zynga apps like Words with Friends A UI update would be very nice especially one that takes full advantage of the Retina HD screens In addition the timeouts that occur when an opponent fails to make a move should be a bit shorter Waiting a week for your opponents next move is ridiculous              Could stand for a UI update

Your submit button is in a bad spot Please add a feature to ask other player undo the last move           Good game could be better

Really great chess app but have to ding it because one of its core concepts doesnt work very well Notifications that you have a move waiting fail to show up quite frequently ie problem with background refresh Ive noticed that if you leave the app for any reason at a time when its communicating with the server ie when you get the spinning indication at the top the app seems to just hang there and fails to notify you of any moves ever The only way to get it to start working again is to open the app back up and wait for it to contact the server again and then attempt to leave when its not talking to the sever Please fix this           Missed Notifications

How many times do I have to hit remove from list before you stop asking me Also fix your facebook connect issues This is an undertested app that does so little Let me save my games how about export as png Show me more stats while youre at it     Stop asking me to rate you

Why did I fing pay if I still get ads     No Ads Version Still Has Ads

I love the game on the whole but the win loss tracker just isnt enough When Im playing someone that I know it would be great to have a way to track individual records of opponents           Needs Stats

Ok thanks for fixing the notification issue but this app still has some problems Lately games that are in progress seems to just disappear for no reason But here is the kicker my friend whom I play with all the time and uses a Samsung Galaxy tells me that he can still see the games on his phone and he cannot do anything because it shows that its my turn He sent me pictures of games still in progress for proof This has happened two times in the past couple of weeks So there two incomplete games in his phone its my turn and the games do not show up on my phonesmh Pure bizarreness     Notifications

I still love this game Rock solid But the interface looks like its from 2009              Needs updating visually

The interface and simplicity of the game is awesome I think there should be a record of stats for people youve played against and a rating for all the users        Great game
