I found the app very nicely put together Lots of then and now photos with some good information on the history of Montereys sardine fishery and associated industries The app ties locations to Steinbecks book without making it too analytical or touristy A good starting point for history buffs and anyone considering Monterey for a vacation I would have scored it a five but I think it needs just a few more links Cannery Row
Ive never gotten so much out of my many trips to Cannery Row as I have now that I have this app Theres so much more to it than I ever imagined particularly being able to see so much of its history and real Steinbeck sites in its great historic photos So much more than I knew
