BusyToDo is a simple, elegant To Do list manager for iOS that syncs tasks with iCal and BusyCal wirelessly through MobileMe or iCal Server. Syncing is automatic and happens in real-time as you make changes ...
June 2013 I said I love busycal for Mac This app works well on my iPad but on my iPhone it crashes constantly There have been no updates recently Please fix it soon After the update it no longer crashes thank you It does not work well with BusyCal 2 for Mac however because the repeat regenerate function for a todo on the Mac is lost on the iOS app Checking the todo as done on iOS causes the todo to repeat everyday instead of regenerate in days           Better but still room for improvement
With the new update Ive lost the syncing with other calendars as well as the ability to addmanage calendars in the App Its difficult to evaluate the new user interface when none of my tasks and calendars show up           Incomplete update
Great simple todo app if you want to sync with BusyCal or iCal Clean interface and it syncs perfectly Great app                 Great BusyCal companion
Doesnt sync with events Just reminders Not sure what I just got for the price I just paid Certainly not my moneys worth     Dont bother
I have to dos every week every 2 weeks and every 3 weeks but with this app your to dos have to either be every day every week every month There is no way to have a custom schedule I waisted 10 The problem is the info on these apps are not complete and they dont show all the screen shots You have to buy the app After 5 mins of having this app I want my hard earned money back     Good but missing something
Are you looking for a deep feature set and the ability to manage complex tasks or projects You should probably head on over to OmniFocus Are you looking for an app who strong point is clarity and efficiency for handling to dos Ive tried a lot of them including some that cost more and some that could do more I keep coming back to BusyToDo because it helps me get my to dos done in the fastest clearest most effective manner possible                 What do you want from a To Do app
I grabbed this app because I have been using BusyCal on my Macs for years and love it and because not one calendar app works well for me on iOS I didnt realize that the ONLY thing this app displays are todos Now I realize that otherwise I would have no way of viewing my BusyCal todos on my iOS device but this seems like a rather anemic implementation from a developer I have come to regard so highly Practically speaking for me this app amounts to no more than a paid alternative to the free Reminders app since I can use either BusyCal or Reminders on my Macs BusyToDos if you add the option to display CALENDAR items in this app youll earn five stars from me If you create a BusyCal for iOS Ill buy it Please           Purchased too quickly
This new version of BusyToDo seems to crowd everything in the left pane on the iPad and users no longer can see both their ToDos and the setup pane simultaneously I dont like this UI change Ugly        New 20 version less attractive
Colorful is nice           Better than 2DO app that is 4 sure
BusyToDo has always been the best GTD app for me very flexible on how things are scheduled with repeats etc It plays well with Apples Reminders app and with BusyCal In the past slow sync has been a real problem no more Its fast and reliable the new interface is lovely and I couldnt be more pleased                 At last a 5 star
BusyToDo does not sync with iCloud If you enter your iCloud credentials at first startup it will pull in your reminders accurately After that if you mark an action complete in BusyToDo it will be marked complete in iCloud Repeat settings from Reminders are accurately pulled into BusyToDo Beyond that there is no syncing going on If you create a new task in BusyToDo it will create a corresponding new Reminder in iCloud with a newly visible Due Datetime of midnight on the date picked for the task If you mark an item complete in iCloud it will frequently screw up how that task appears in BusyCal When I contacted their responsive customer support department about these issues I was told Here are the two truisms about BusyCal and ToDos 1 It considers them allday events To Do times are just alarm times to BusyCal 2 BusyCal sets the start and due dates to the same value and does not provide a UI for making them different However if another app sets different start and due dates it can cause the To Dos to show up in BusyCals calendar on the start date rather than the due date Both of these dont seem to fit into how you want to manage your To Dos We wonder if you really want to use the iCloud web site to manage to dos we dont have many customers doing this or Reminders on both the Mac and your iOS device that you might not want to manage them in BusyCal I want true syncing because I work in an environment in which I cant use my iOS devices nor a Mac I do have access to the internet and thus iCloudcom What BusyToDo claims is not syncing Its a design choice of the developer I have tried many task management apps but no other refuses to allow a due time to be set as it considers them all to be all day events instead I never mentioned a start time to BusyMac support in my support requests and dont know how it applies to the issue at hand I understand that Apple does not make it easy for developers to sync with Reminders with Apples idiosyncratic Remind me on a day field not available to developers That does not excuse 3rd party developers from claiming iCloud syncing when it doesnt Telling a user to just use their apps BusyCal and BusyToDo to manage tasks is not syncing        Does NOT sync with iCloud
Outstanding app Works flawlessly syncs perfectly with BusyCal for the Mac Not complicated but comprehensive enough to plan effectively It just works                 Excellent
iOS is a great operating system but the reminders app leaves a lot to be desired BusyToDo is a wonderful app that allows you to keep track of your tasks in a simple fashion Works great with BusyCal and iCloud I was initially a bit hesitant to purchase this because of the price but it is most definitely worth it                 Another great program from BusyMac
The companys abysmal technical support aside BusyMac still hasnt optimized this app for iPhone 5 Inexcusable in January 13        Still no update for iPhone 5
It doesnt seem to do anything beyond whats already done by the iOS Calendar and Reminders apps In addition you end up with two reminders for every task one from the iOS Reminders feature and one from this app I paid money for something thats a nuisance     Nothing beyond whats already in iOS
App works perfectly with my iCal account but doesnt even pretend to talk to my Exchange account Since BusyCal has made much of its ability to work with exchange servers this should at least be noted so folks can decide whether its worth it to shell out 5 for an app that only does half of what they might expect BusyCal is a great program though pricey        Limited syncing with BusyCal
The app does sync with iCloud and BusyCal for Mac but it has a very clunky user interface I am currently a user of RememberTheMilk and it is a much better service I have asked for a refund for this app since it does not compare in functionality to what I already have     Clunky
Is BusyToDo still supported by BusyCal There hasnt been an update in over a year There is an extremely annoying bug When only TODAYs items are displayed deleting an item frequently causes the entire list to disappear Displaying more than just TODAYs list brings the display back I emailed Customer Support about this quite some time ago but still no fix              Still Supported
But it doesnt Its just a todo list BusyCal by these same folks is a MARVEL Its a desktop app ONLY and scoops up all info from reminders and ical events AND it coordinates with ical and reminders But for IOS you need something better than a todo list You need coordinated reminders and events Pocket Informant will give you that It will scoop up everything and give it to you to use and modify on your devices iOS 7 I think only at this point So I use BusyCal on my desktop as my default calendar and I use Pocket informant in my pocket           Wish it would coordinate with Calendars
Not sure what all the negativity was about because BusyToDo installed as advertised synced instantly and works well with my BusyCal To Do list A bit pricey for what you get but it works flawlessly Update Just got on my iPad and much to my surprise BusyToDo was installed and running there as well I must revise my a bit pricey comment to this is great The app on two devices for 999 is not bad at all Ive always appreciated what BusyCal can do and I now have that functionality on the iPhone iPad                 Excellent so far
I paid 999 I want it to be more like busycal2 like on the Mac please I want a calender view more view options     Not enough
I bought this a few days ago and its been working great ever since BusyMac products just seem to match the way I work think better than the built in Apple Apps I organize my life around daily todo lists not timed reminders and BusyTodo handles that just fine It could use a UI refresh though if only to look more like iOS 7                 Great App
BETTER THAN REMINDERS The single nonApple app that I use EVERY DAY both on the iPhone and now on the iPad to coordinate my office iMacbased iCal organized business indispensable Thank you                 superb
Nice App but it is truly the missing the familiar little red badge in the upper right corner of the icon that should display the number of tasks due Syncs perfectly with my Airs BusyCal application via MobileMe UPDATE 4 Stars now iCloud syncing is effortless I use BusyCal instead of iCal BusyCal also syncs flawlessly with iCloud This app does what its supposed to do and does it well Ill give the app 5 Stars if they prettyup the GUI              App Icon Needs a Badge
Been using this app for 6 months first with me and works flawlessly after recent upgrade to iCloud No problems not sure what other poster who said it doesnt show badge with number of due tasks was referring to works fine as long as you turn on notifications I keep tasks sorted among multiple iCal calendars and much prefer this layout and color coding to Reminders                 Great app No problems
A hefty price for an app thats light on features It works in the exact same fashion as the default Reminders app Definitely not worth the price     Disappointing
Outstanding It works exactly as described Very easy to use and does everything I need it to do and then some It syncs with my iMac flawlessly Been using it for a long time Good job                 Outstanding App
Easy to use and synching across devices is flawless                 Works
I got it because I wanted something that would sync with my calendars well better than I have most everything else It does that great but it doesnt have any colors projects or anything else I think I will keep on using my other todo apps app i go until this one gets better Even with the syncing issues Slight update is I think that I will have to use a combo though I dont want to I want something that works Of course their is going back to the old standby pen and paper           A bit limited
I have used this app with busy cal for 23 years with all apple devices I have never been able to resolve poor syncing issues Now there are many more better apps that are free that make this and the cal program irrelevant in comparison I am migrating to better apps At the time I though it would be worth the price but hey My time is worth more        Iffy
BusyDo does sync todos from MobileMe unlike Apples default Calendar but otherwise has extremely limited functionality Unless I missed something the only features it adds are repeating to dos and tags Unfortunately because I already happily use BusyCal which has a multitude of features not offered in iCal I trusted that BusyDo would be as useful and worth its high price It is not Ive tried many to do apps looking for the right one for metoodledo 2do instado etc Based on quality this may be the worst one Ive tried It is definitely the worst value Buy something else     Extremely limited for
Many thanks to Busycal for being one of the very few if any desktop apps that still combines tasks and appointments But BusyToDo just doesnt have the same feel or functionality Hence the name difference I suppose Anyhoo Im getting lots of crashes with BTD I dont see any advantage over Reminders at this time        Mixed review
Flawless synchronization with BusyCal iPad and iPhone I use it instead of Apples Reminders because drag and drop sorting is ridiculous Id give it five stars if I could create subtasks Doesnt need a desktop version if you have BusyCal you can organize edit and sort right from within BusyCal Now back to that subtask issue              Busy ToDo
I love this app in so many ways but theres a persistent bug that never gets fixed sometimes after you add an item to a list the entire display goes away You just have a big empty list and force quitting the app and restarting is the only way to make it work right Ive had this happen regularly on an iPhone 4 original iPad and 3rd gen iPad If this were fixed Id give it 5 stars           Great but buggy
No support for google cal or exchange Nothing like busycal hard to believe its made by the same company Dont buy it     Useless dont waste your money
I love busycal Wanted to love this but it wont stop crashing Many times when syncing on iPhone or iPad it crashes Please fix this     Constantly Crashes
Im sorry I spent my money on this Maybe its just me but I cant get it to sync with my busycal     Sorry
I agree that this app syncs flawlessly but I feel that it is limited in not allowing you to have categories or the ability to to customize frequency and occurrences of events I am hoping this will prove        BusyToDo
When I read the negative reviews for this app I feel that the reviewers are using a different app than I am First of all many say that BusyToDo BTD does nothing that Reminders already does for free Not true BTD is in color Reminders comes in bland shades of gray black BTD uses Due Dates rather than reminder dates times I have not use for Apples reminder date function Others say that you cannot do categories in BTD not true You cannot sort your reminders in Reminders but you can in BTD The appearance of tasks the calendar on the same screen on my iMac I find to be extremely useful BusyToDo BusyCalendar are far superior to the Apple calendar reminders I would not be without them Have it loaded on my iPod iMac Used to use Apples Reminders on my iPad but this morning I became so disgusted with it that I dumped it loaded BTD to my iPad as well Apple has always been lightyears behind on their calendars task list apps Right down there with there Maps app Thank goodness for BusyCal BusyToDo I wish Apple paid as much attention to some of its faulty apps as it does to its elegant hardware                 Far better than Reminders
BusyToDo was the first app I thought of when I considered replacing Apples builtin reminders I use BusyCal on my Mac and it works great The app still has an earlyiOS aesthetic versus the new iOS 7 look and that resulted in a few glitches like banners eg Due Today showing below the actual reminders The one thing that astonishes me though is that Custom Reminders ie having an event repeat every other day which are recognized by both Apples Reminders AND BusyToDo are not something you can create in BusyToDo I end up having to create my events on my iOS device and then adjust them with BusyCal on my Mac which is frustrating I dont know if this is a limitation of iOS for some reason but if not I hope it is something addressed in a future update I havent experienced any of the crashes other users mentioned but I would like to see subtasks akin to how Things manages projects              Still has an iOS 6 aesthetic but is better than Reminders
This is a great update The sync is very fast and accurate now and better than before I do miss the landscape option though Please add that again Whats particularly nice about this app is that it seems to have all the features that are needed but it excludes several like tags that make some of the other apps too clunky and too complex All in all well done It would be nice to see an actual iOS event calendar from you guys too                 Great update fast sync
Lets you create tasks with due dates without setting an alarm                 Better than IOS reminders for ToDo lists
I have never had this crash on me and works great alone or with BusyCal I do a zillion things and this helps me keep organized on my iPhone iPad and Mac The cool thing is I can still use Siri to add a reminder and both this app and Reminders syncs with no issues                 Works great
This is a well designed productivity act Each day I have important steps to take in several areas and this app has been just what I need to keep things moving across the board Well worth the money                 Very Effective
Things OmniFocus Remember the Milk Due Do NotifyMe To Do a lot of em are named that If you want an app for iCal reminders that is fast stable and just works This is the ticket When I can talk to Siri I add reminders that way but often I am in a situation where I cant This app makes the process SO much faster than the Apple Reminder app as you enter everything from one screen Syncing is fast Everything works as it shouldand again its fast If you want something complex you shouldnt be using iCal Reminders Get Things 999 for iPhone 1999 for iPad 4999 for Mac OmniFocus 1999 for iPhone 3999 for iPad 7999 for Mac Remember the Milk 25year etcbut if you want an app Im not saying the above arent good apps Id say they are amazing apps because they are much more complex but have created easy to use UIs That said my personality just cant handle that kind of complexity I turn the todo app into the project I was supposed to be doing That said maybe youre different A lot of people do use these apps but often they arent using the features they are paying for And yes there are inexpensive apps that try to replicate the features of the above mire complex apps but I wouldnt wish them on anyone Even if you make 5hour your time is worth something and its not worth it to waste that time with poorly made hard to use and most importantly UNRELIABLE Reliability is so important for to do apps Ok Im off my soap box If you want a very polished fast reliable app for your iCal reminders I recommend this My only concern is over the locationgeofencing features and the effect they have on battery life But apple made it so you can directly enter an address it is has to be your current location or one in your contacts How stupid is that Ill probably be turning off location access for this app to eliminate that effect in battery life Hey DEVs when am I getting my BusyCal UNIVERSAL iPhoneiPad app I know you could one up the guys making Agenda                 Ive downloaded almost every Calendar and To Do app on iTunes store
We have been using this application for several months without any single issue It has very robust features for displaying event and tasks calendars The iOS version does a great job with tasks The desktop version does an even better job by allowing you to view tasks and events in one application better easier and more features than Calendar or Reminders It works well with iCloud and Kerio server across OSX and iOS devices all syncing seamlessly together                 iCloud and Kerio
This dramatically improves upon the apple Reminders programsapps and it coordinates perfectly with BusyCal which combines the features of and greatly improves on the apple calendar and reminders software So while this is great on its own its even better when combined with BusyCal as your desktop calendartodo software Customer service is very responsive I had a tiny syncing problem and John in customer service responded immediately and persevered until the troubleshooting was done So heartwarming is thatI wish the software had more problems The product could be improved if it and BusyCal had a way of making subitems within a todo item But basically this is awesome                 Great Product great customer service
Would be location alarms on your to dos Outside of that very usefull app Ive used many todo apps and this one is the simplest to use and that is key If one is spending more time on organizing and massaging the info in their to do list then how are they getting anything done Sincs well with iCal no muss no fuss I have it on my iPad and iPod and if you get a cell signal or a wifi signal this puppy syncs wherever you are to all your devices No web page subscription required              Only thing that would make it better
I used to really like this app until it changed all my calendar colors Now they dont match the colors on my Apple Calendar The colors are there for reason Now that reason is useless        It changed all my calendar colors
Save your money and dont buy this crappy software I love BusyCal on Mac but BusyToDo will keep you busy installing and reinstalling it on your iPhone or iPad I want my money back     Crashes
