This app is slow with the news and very frustrating to use It used to be my go to app a couple of years ago and now I miss those days I gave it 4 stars a couple if years ago but now it is at 1 star as there is no zero star option It is eye appealing but oddly hard to navigate The news is anything but up to the minute and oftentimes the pages are blank The ads are also dominant over the news by a large degree Pick any other news app and it will be better than this one Bring back the good old days Used to be a great app but is now irrelevant RobHylen

This app needs a lot of help and I actually think its gotten worse from when I first downloaded it There are too many ads and often when Im skimming the headlines something happens where it almost inserts a new ad making me lose my spot The stories are always missing pictures and have a filler of random text making the story hard to follow For a while I couldnt even open the News section so no news for me This app needs to take a note from the NYTimes app which has been wonderful and a great resource on the go Needs a lot of help

Ive been meaning to write a review for this site I dont like to write reviews but this is one exception See I like reading the news on my phone and am always amazed how bad the Boston app is Where to begin from the countless random ads that appear right above or below a news story the same photos that appear as placeholders at the beginning Again the number of ads some a bit risqué that are directly above or below a news story and disguised as a news story Its just bad Not enough content not enough of a change of articles Come on Boston Is your site run by toddlers Youre telling me that in a city infused by top notch colleges this is the app youre standing behind and on top and below really can you stop with those ads I spend less than a minute on this app always opening it up thinking someone that works there finally opened it up and realized how awful this app is and how its in no way a news app to be taken seriously Pretty bad do they even read these

As you scroll through the list of stories ads suddenly pop in the feed causing you to lose your place which quickly becomes tedious Much of the content is based around introductions to videos which are not supported All in all a practically useless app Loads ads not much else

Digital papers are improving the Boston Globe is in that tradition Big stories are done very well The secondary stories that are of interest are often lost I find it useful when on travel or to keep up with a breaking story but it is not the same as the news paper improving
Without a doubt a terrible website in every way but especially so in its technical performance Spend some time browsing the site and you will be totally uninspired to ever subscribe to its big brother The Boston Globe for even the modest fee Technically as unsound as could be Stories go unfinished and even coverage of local pro sports teams often go missing for 24 hours or more after the game has ended Its as if there are no humans running the site at all Its that bad Quick Call the web police

Still one of the worst news apps Shame on the Boston Globe I think the lack of quality is intended to get subscribers to their pay site They only add one or two stories a day Sometimes none Lately there has been zero stories in the news section Pitiful There are random lines of code in the stories There are never links to the videos that they reference and many blank stories Also they list the same stories multiple times just to fill the list Very lazy reporting for the globe The writers are just adding Twitter quotes They are turning into a retweet site Terrible and pitiful
