BMWhat?

As mentioned in the tittle great app and it works as described A little history Looking for a code reader for my 2008 e92 M3 For some reason most BMW scanners dont work on my car something to do with the s65 Compatible tools would be a few hundred dollars Did some research on the app and found a few good reviews but nothing specific to the M3 I figure what can I loose Ill order a wifi obd dongle from eBay and try the lite version Downloaded the lite version and it worked with my car a little sceptic got the full version A few minutes later plug it to the car and it worked A list of BMW codes on my hand with less than 80 invested No coding at the time I used it but if it works that would be a bonus                 Great app it works as described

I cant say enough about this app Its great It has saved me hundreds of dollars by allowing me to code pretty much anything I want which I would have otherwise needed to have the dealership code for a lot more than the app and adapter cost Its straighforward and easy to use for anyone whether you are technical or not The guys at BMWhat are always happy to help and very responsive Highly recommended As an update and in response to some others who have had trouble since a recent update I had some of the same difficulties as others after the update I assumed it was related to a reflash from the BMW dealership at a recent visit I contacted the guys at BMWhat and they said they were working on another update I downloaded the update yesterday and connectivity was smooth and seamless and now all coding options are back and everything I coded ran perfectly Every app has glitches from time to time when this one does the guys are on it and are very responsive to my inquiries Still love the app For reference I have an 2011 E90 series 335i and use an iPhone 6 connected with the BMWhat WiFi OBD adapter                 Awesome App

Was working perfect prior to update Now the app just closes during the readout Useless     Do not update

Simple and easy to use I was quickly able to read and then clear trouble codes Havent tried coding yet but looking at the screens it looks very simple and straight forward                 Very good app

Fantastically easy to use great support from the developers codes almost everything I could want I am so happy I got this rather than coding with NCS expert One click and its coded the way I want Im waiting for video in motion to be available and may just code with NCS for that but it is hands down the easiest way to code youre BMW for functions usually hidden from the user or not enabled for one reason or another Do you want your windows and sunroof to close with the remote Click comfort close Thats it Do you want the car to turn off eject the key and unlock with one long press of the startstop button One click and its done Do you want your mirrors to fold in assuming you have power mirrors when you lock your car with the remote One click and your done So great I cant wait for the next update to see if there are any new codings that can be done I just love it                 Worth every penny

Able to read and clear check engine codes even BMW specific codes that generic readers cant Also able to easily code a decent amount of options into a variety of BMW models Highly recommended                 Works great

I cant wait to see what is unlocked in the next version There is some coding that others offer that I would like to be able to do with this app Hopefully soon                 Great App

Instructions should note that you have to select the wifi network established by the OBD adapter not your home network Your iPhoneiPad wont joint the adapter network automatically Once connected to the adapters wifi network diagnosis seems to work OK However there is no ability to code FSeries ie 435i BMW as yet Developer says its coming in 2015 Its OK but quite expensive for just a code reader           Works but limited use for 2015 BMW

Put simply this app is worth the money I have found use after use for this application monitoring parameters gives amazing insight into what is going on under the hood coding lets me have the car act as I want and diagnosis gives me a heads up before the dealer has any involvement Try the demo version grab a quality wifi adapter Vgate works well and check your cars compatibility If you have a 2008 E9X youre in for a real treat                 Game changer

I normally use ncs expert this app cant do as much but it is very simple to use and does the basic coding most people wants I hope more updates will be available soon with more functions available I would recomend it to people that want to do some simple but cool coding on their BMW                 Great app

absolutely disrespectful I cant believe I spent over 100 for something that doesnt work adapter app     purchased 2nd generation adapter and app contacted ivini 5 times received no response in weeks

The app works great for e90 and e60 BMWs It even was able to read and clear a mystery Airbag fault that other premium nonBMW readers could not clear I am very impressed                 Fantastic App for BMW Owners

Looks like bmwhat sold out to Carly So now everything I bought within the app no longer works The wifi obd that I used worked absolutely great until this update Now the app tells me I have to buy one of those I didnt pay 50 for an app and numerous add ons to now be useless     Once great now terrible

2013 Mini Cooper R55s Clubman Car now unlocks when its turned off Power windows work after the key is off or a door was opened Can roll up windows with key fob DISABLED the stupid auto correction for the speedo readouts DISABLED the digital speedo and got my timetemp readout in my tach cluster Coding was easy fast and reliable The time saved here greatly outweighs running around trying to get other coding software to work Is able to read and erase codes with ease I am excited to see more updates Yes its pricy but given that coders often charge 20code and 60 for unlimited coding this app is a good deal combine that with the BMWMini Data for service and its a real winner Note you do need to buy an EXTERNAL WiFI OBDII hardware adapter This app alone will not magically code your car VIA your phone without this added hardware review updated to 5 stars since update I can now access my FRM for lighting mods Cheers and thank you                 Works Great

Great little app for reading clearing error codes and doing light coding tasks                 Great app

Just after I bought my M3 the check engine light popped up Turns out there was a bad tank of gas and it triggered a sensor For less than the cost of very expensive dealership labor I was able to clear the error and do the simple coding on the E9x platform the app allows Cant wait for additional improvements in the coming months and coding ability for the F3xF8x platforms                 Already saved me money

Bought this to code new battery in sisters 135i but it is not supported so I thought at least I can do some coding on my e86 Z4M Coupe Well it only shows e85 Z4M Roadster but no big deal its basically the same car However to my disappointment coding is not supported for this car What a waste of 45 dollars on this app and 75 dollars on the Carly wireless bluetooth adaptor Very disappointed to say the least     Terrible

Great App for the DIYer looking to do dealer level coding and Diagnostics A great feature would be to reset the Oil Service for certain models although most can be done via the Instrument Cluster                 Excellent App

I dont usually write product reviews even for the good ones This is in fact my first product review ever Why Because this app is that good I used to code my BMWs with a laptop and cable it was tedious Its been a while since I coded my cars and completely forgot how to do it Along came this app Its wonderful very easy to use and theres no fuss Simple wifi obd device and your phone thats it I was also able to clear a few nonimportant codes and register a new battery easily I love it Please add support for newer BMWs                 EXCELLENT

The only down point is that the user interface isnt that great Appart from that its awesome I was able to change several codes and correct existing bad codes To the ivini team I suggest that you expand this service to being able to change the ECU setup as Cobb or JB4 does                 Love this app

Have used this a few times on a 645ci It would be nice if it had some of the features of the more generic OBD tools gauges etc and the interface is a little tough to navigate but it does exactly what it says Reads and clears codes BMW specific codes reliably              Works Well

Never thought the coding the BMW was so easy No dealing with NCSExpert or other system system I am using an ELM 327 wifi OBD connector and this app works like a charm to read all the error codes and clear them Best part is that the developer is just an email away and responds to my questions immediately                 Very well done

There appear to be gaps in the models supported For instance the E60 535i xdrive is not supported which is amazing considering it is a pretty common model My other gripe with the app is that for 50 or so it does not include all functions You have to make an inapp purchase 50 to reset service indicators and to register a new battery Both of these tasks seem like they are extremely common for a DIY user and they are using this to squeeze a little more money out of their already paid users For a very pricy app I am disappointed that I am being nickelanddimed this way           Good but not perfect

One of the main reasons I bought this app was to program my E71 X6 to close my trunk with remoteIve had this app for over 6 months and still nothing        Its ok

Works wonderfully Glitches on the update but after reinstalling a couple of days later bugs seem to have disappeared shrug Also add on features are worth it                 App amazing again

In about 60 seconds this became my favorite app Some of my E93s settings that couldnt be changed through iDrive drove me crazy With this app and an OBD Wifi adapter I was able to change those settings to how they should have been from the factory BMWhat is so easy to use and although it seems expensive in a world of most paid apps costing less than five dollars it is certainly worth it for people who just want a quick and easy way to change a few settings You dont need to be a master coder to use this all the settings are in plain English with simple options like active and not active You just tap what you want and then tap to write it to the car BMWhat reads error codes from the car too but I havent had any codes to read If I ever do Ill be ready for them                 Excellent

This along with the OBD device you need to buy separately widely available at online retailers is an amazing solution to determining whats causing your check engine light Consider that a visit to a dealer service center involves not only paying them a shop rate to plug in their 1000 tool and charge you time and labor to just look at your fault codes and then more for highly marked up parts and labor this app gives you the the same info If you are a do it yourself kind of person the fault code may reveal something relatively easy to fix yourself like a battery ignition coil or O2 sensor replacement It also could reveal something more serious that requires more expertise to resolve and allow you to prepare to spend some to get it fixed by a pro You can also clear the engine light if the fault codes were generated because of an anomaly that isnt a permanent issue requiring any action at all Extremely easy to use Plug in your OBD device purchased separately connect your smartphone to the device private wifi and start reading codes I saved hundreds of in the long run when I learned my faults were ignition coil O2 sensor and vanos solenoid I was able to get those parts new OEM for about 225 and do 2 of the 3 myself The other cost me an hour100 labor from an independent mechanic Dealer quoted me about 1000 in partslabor to do those same items                 Worth every penny

I have been looking for a simple app that can help diagnose my bimmer BMWHAT is the app that does exactly that However there are a couple of features I would want included in future versions 1 A visual HUD that shows engine performance when on the road 2 The ability to do simple coding using the wifi dongle currently this is not possible for my model I will reserve the last star when these features are included Nevertheless this is a great great app              BMW Owners needs to have this

Awesome app The wifi adaptor is now a permanent addition to my glove box With the adaptor and this app I will be able to read fault codes anywhere avoiding costly dealer charges for diagnostics Nice interface very easy to use The coding functionality is the icing on the cake for me It took less than a minute to code my car for windows and sunroof close with a push of a remote button Job well done guys                 IT

I updated to the latest version of the app which now has support for coding and service reset for my 2007 525i Very nice user interface plain English descriptions on the coding page gives you a description of the various options that you can tweak on the car and there are lots of them Obviously this app can be used to read and clear error codes from all of the cars controllers Again it is leaps and bounds better than your standard code reader I am using it with the app manufacturers new wifi obd2 adapter Had few questions which were answered quickly by the app development staff in Germany                 Perfect
