Theres a lot of capability in Bible Maps but every single time they update ALL my resources paid for or free and my notes vanish I have to reload and recreate everything Why cant prefs be saved in the keychain Also there is no place in app to contact the developer so these reviews are the only place to comment           Versatile but fragile

Ive been using the Olive Tree Bible app since before it was an app on my PDA when the company first got started Great app                 Great App

I really like this app It is easy to use Besides the different Bible translations available there are books available on plenty of different subjects to assist with your Bible study Some are expensive but they have sales frequently and many are free The Resource Guide keeps up most of the time with whatever is being read in the Bible The items available in the Resource Guide help with understanding the topic andor the significance of the people writing or being written about andor assists with locating on a map the areas involved The possibilities of learning new or deepening your understandings are limitless I enjoy starting each day with this app                 Great app

This update wipes you clean I eventually got back everything using their back up but what a mess Otherwise a great program Will revise back up later        5920 wipes your installed stuff out

This has been and continues to be a very robust program I have used Olive Tree for many years and I am still impressed with its vast resources The last update did not bother any of my syncd itemsnotes I have mine set to autosync I really like how notes highlights sync between my various devices I realize updates lead to having to redownload books and this can be time consuming but I have come to live with that I have only 2 complaints 1 The program is slow especially on my phone I tend to use a different app when speed is an issue I would gladly trade off some of the robustness for much improved speed 2 It would be nice if there was an option to have the pages turn like a regular book Obviously I can deal with both of these but just voicing my thoughts              Brief Review

Ive had this app for 3 years now and Ive switch recently from an old iPhone to a new iPhone It was good to see that all my purchases from my old iPhone transferred over without any issues I love this app                 Experienced no issues

This app has all the tools needed to make effective Bible Study an easy endeavor From the Strongs links to the study guides and daily notifications they are all seamlessly integrated I use this app daily and much prefer it to other Bible apps                 Makes Bible reading and study easy

Start with this app for Bible study Stay with this one for LIFE I have been building my Bible library with these guys since my earliest PDA days and have it on 2 iPhones and 2 iPads for my wife and me I make a note bookmark download another Study Bible or Christian book and load it on ALL devices All my library and markings are right there on ALL devices For both the best Bible study experience as well as stealing away those times to just be alone with God for devotional and worship time this app makes the ultimate use of the electronic media to make it all work seamlessly TOGETHER They make it possible for you to fully personalize it in every way imaginable And they respond when I ask a question or make a suggestion My latest suggestion as it turned out they had already addressed a long time ago It just happened to be a feature I didnt realize was there Their response was in just a few hours Whether you just want one Bible or an incredible library this is handsdown the BEST choice I have always been a great believer in ALWAYS having Gods Word with me and these guys understand what a lover of God and His Word really want in functionality personalization of that functionality and making notes and marking up your Bible your own way And what a Godsend for those of us who keep wanting the font size tweaked or just want their entire Christian library with them at their fingertips for whenever God is speaking to your heart and you want to go deep in your study or prayer time with Him Over the years I have begged my favorite publishers and authors to get their publication into THIS app and they have responded They are ceaselessly improving enhancing expanding No one else comes close Ive downloaded every Bible app Ive ever seen Every day I look for what have they improved today They have built the ultimate Bible app One to build on and stick with for LIFE                 Start with this app Stay with this one for life

This is a very versatile program Ive been using digital Bible programs for quite a number of years I will not list the names but I am very pleased with the features I not only use this on my iPad but also my iPhone and MacBook Pro                 Versatile

Its perfect for what I need including maps versions search and interlinear Its not the only great one but its one of the top three                 Great Bible app

I have stopped buying new resources from Olive Tree until they update this app for my Mac Many of their new books will work on my iPad but not my MacBook Since I use the program on both it is a big problem that a book only works on one I have invested in over a hundred different Olive Tree titles and I disappointed in their current support of the program on OSX It really irked me that they released an update for Windows and still dont have an OSX UPDATE that will allow me to use the resources that work on iOS     Where the MAC Update

If it werent for the problems I am having with highlighting I would think this App is perfect I use it on a daily basis for nearly all my Bible study The problem with highlighting is that it shifts and sometimes I am unable to figure out a way to remove it so that I can replace it correctly Nevertheless this is the App I use more than any other period                 Dewanekb

Awesome features Ive used this app for probably seven plus years I love so many things about it My only complaint is the more than acceptable sync issues Its drives me crazy to pick up another device and realize the updatesync never happened and will not without technical support           Great App But Can Be Frustrating

Every one of my mostused features have changed for the worse COPYING verses has the full translation name instead of initials only MOSTLY FIXED but paste from STRONGS now adds Olive Tree Enhanced Strongs Dictionary HIGHLIGHTS pick up the next word after a comma 2nd time Im fixing 2000 highlights in 34 years and no longer permit highlights spanning parts of multiple verses but only entire verses SPEED has decreased so that Loading always shows when changing versions or jumping verses even on the faster iPhone 6 EVEN WORSE WITH LATEST VERSION SEARCH RESULTS no longer show highlights which was a remarkable and beautiful feature AND THEYVE GOTTEN WORSE verse s and reference letters colored blue which is unneeded and distracting and verses are indented random amounts Perfect example of fluff change that makes things worse STRONGS definition popups now make you scroll to the definition only show one definition at a time and no longer show matching search results in context with a single tap STILL HORRIBLE At this time I can no longer recommend OliveTree based upon these development and design trends Apps change over time Before you invest in buying OliveTree translations and putting your extensive notes highlights and bookmarks there you may want to consider how those features will work or wont work in the future In OliveTree the trend is for a pretty interface instead of real usability If you like that trend this is the Bible Reader for you For casual Bible reading Id rate OT a 5 For in depth study its 34 However for the app development trend of removing or worsening longstanding features I was going to raise this up from 2 since they did partially fix the version initials when pasting however the degradation in search results leaves it as 2 However based on the development trends and philosophy Im concerned that I will like the future app even less than its current state        Was better before

Ive had this app for years now Ive got many in app purchases and I use this every day It has transformed my thinking and my life                 Great App

This Bible program is a Godsend I use it now to take notes in church use it for discipleship use it for scripture memory The uses are endless The streamline app makes bible study a breeze while allowing the user to dig deep into Gods word I like the fact that it syncs with every device allowing multiple devices to make changes as necessary Great job Olivetree                 Superb

Once again the upgrade broke the account information and forces you to download everything again and data that had not been syncd was lost Olive tree used to be very solid but evidently no more If I didnt have such large investment in books Id find another app     Messed Up Again

I started using Olive Tree on a Palm Pilot V Treo and still use it on my iPhones and iPad Air It even carried my notes forward and now syncs with Evernote It was the best Bible app then and is still the best now on any platform Its good to find a company that goes the distance for their customers                 Best Bible app in the long run

Getting tired of the bugs for the few years This last update wiped my entire install Everything gone I really love OT and have been using it for 10 years They seem to be very slowly addressing bugsreally looking forward to it being a rock solid Bible app that can be reliably used     Powerful potential plagued by bugs

I have been using the Olivetree Bible reader on both my iPad and my iMac for over a year I like the ability to tap on a word and see the original Hebrew Aramaic or Greek You have to buy the different study Bibles and materials but the prices are reasonable and the material is definitely worth it I have typed in tons of notes and they sync well between the computer and the iPad This is my got to app forseries Bible Study                 The Best overall

This is a well designed app where comparisons can easily be made between Bibles to assist in understanding various passages It is tightly integrated into a Mac PC and it really is the best Bible app period Well thought out very flexible able to absorb extensive notes almost 1000 pages worth of notes of an A4 size This app alone makes a smartphone worthwhile The only negative is that it would be wonderful if annotations could include pictures or PDFs Best app on my iPhone bar none                 Best on the Planet

Some stability problems with the app Ive been using this app since the old days of the Palm Pilot but these last few updates have had some glitches with losing my texts and notes and sync is a bit messed up Support is good though Hope they get this thing working like it use to           Getting back to normal

Well Olive Tree seems to have fixed the crashonstartup problem and created a second problem After installing v 5920 I can no longer access about half the resources in my account including those I use the most Unfortunate considering I did not experience the crashonstartup problem I have come to dread updates to this app since there is a pattern of adding features I dontwont use and breaking features I do use More quality control seems to be needed        Latest Update Breaks Account Info

As others noted latest update deleted my library Downgraded from four to one star The developers listen Another fantastic update The introductory option screens was a brilliant idea and its great to have the kinds of choices this program offers such as a single screen verse chooser wide or narrow margins and the option to scroll by page or flick up and down Great program One tweak I would like to see is to match the menus in the split screen with those in the main screen Presently one button is titled open Like we didnt know something would open if we pressed it It would also be nice to have some attractive templates for colors or a better way to see the effect of changes The program is almost too flexible in the changes it allows and it takes quite a few steps to see what the changes will look like Finally selecting text should include the ability to scroll off the screen and select larger chunks of text The search function has improved but could be better First there should be an x for deleting the last search Second the range options and filters should all be in the first search screen Theres plenty of room for two columns pf buttons for preset ranges and filters That would make searching simpler clearer and faster Having said all that this is still my favorite Bible app Ive used all the others and I have a lot of money invested in Logos but Bible Reader is the one I use all the time It is powerful flexible and user friendly AND it continues to improve I keep having to revise this review because they keep addressing the issues Update Sept 22 2013 Ive lowered my rating to four stars not because the app is worse but because the issues noted above remain a problem     Was the Best There Is

Sync doesnt work logged out of my account and my resources and Bible reading schedule are missing On top of that the computer app though its open 24 hours a day doesnt automatically sync so nothing was backed up there like notes highlights or my reading     An Update that breaks this apps benefits

Whats up with the Biblereader Resource Guide Database It can be downloaded but theres NO ACCESS its NEVER shown as being installed        Adequate

When I opened Bible Maps after the 11 June 2015 update all my bookmarks were gone the fonts were different and some translations were missing Before this it had been a 5star app        Update on 11 June messed up

While its not the most elegant example of mobile ui design it does its job I have no major complaints One minor complaint is that sometimes it feels like the app isnt interpreting my input the way I was expecting Maybe this could be resolved through some streamlining or simplification of the input or navigation options Regardless it does succeed at being a cross referencing bible study app with the ability to purchase a variety of popular translations and integrated reference materials              Useful

July 2015 update Olive Tree now offers WEB World English Bible and for the most part it uses Yahweh but tends to use Jesus instead of Yashua in NT Id like to see an OT phone compatible version of the Bible produced by Yahweh Restoration Ministry etc I was on Olive Tree Bible app long before iPhones on one of my earlier presmartphone cell phones I wish they were more open minded about using bible translations that use the Hebrew names for our Creator Yahweh and Elder Brother Yashua who was a Hebrew person after all He wasnt born in Greece so no need to change His name to the Greek name Jesus the Christ So oh well what they have works fairly well and what they dont have youll need to find or make another app Oct 2014 asking me to rate again So Ditto                 My first therefore favorite Bible app

I just pulled up the Olive Tree app to do my daily Bible study and found not the New Revised Standard Version with my bookmarks and notes but the King James Version I dont use the King James Version I looked just now and discovered that this update no longer includes the NRSV Well Olive Tree Bible has lost a customer Your choice My choice I do not appreciate this one bit I will never do business with you again And to top it off when I tried to sign in to your website I was advised that my email was incorrect This email to which you send me solicitations almost daily     The 61115 Update Deleted NRSV

It is very useful to be able to look up bible passages in a number of translations I could never carry such a collection of volumes in paper form Updated review 732015 after a number of scary reviews of version 20 from 611 I hesitated to update the app It seems users lost their bibles and notes I made sure to sync with Evernote and then updated The next time I got on it asked me to log in but I skipped that step Indeed none of my bibles or other resources were there I went to the sync page and again it asked me to sign in I did it took about a minute to sync and lo my bibles and resources came back It seems to be working perfectly now                 Handy

Your recent update wiped out all my history and erased my CS Lewis study plan It was my favorite part of the day Not at all happy     Bring back my CS Lewis

I use this as part of my daily reading every morning Its easy to use and very helpful I like the features of the app highlighting notes etc I also like the bookstore Its on my iPhone and my iPad and Kindle I love this app And I have not experienced a crash ever Thank you              I love this app

Last update wiped out all custom reading templates IOS 83 does not allow them to be added back in Sync process does no good Please address        Need to add IOS file sharing setting

Yet once again an update wiped out my entire Library as well as all my account settings This is at least the 4th time an update for this app has done that Olive Tree apparently doesnt perform adequate testing on updates before releasing them     Bad update
